Firstly, I encountered what I believe to be racially motivated incidents, which included delayed background checks and invasive personal inquiries. This alone was enough to make me reconsider my patronage. But what truly crossed the line was RangeUSA's refusal to initiate a new background check after 30 days, a policy clearly stated on the ATF's website. This, in my opinion, is an active prevention of my Second Amendment rights, which is unacceptable. Transparency, fairness, and respect for constitutional rights should form the backbone of any business, especially one dealing with firearms. Unfortunately, it seems like RangeUSA falls short in upholding these principles. I am left with no choice but to boycott their services until they address these issues and treat all customers equally and fairly. If being black is good enough for the ATF, it should be good enough for RangeUSA. I am filing a complaint reporting RangeUSA to the ATF for not complying with Federal Law which grants the right for a background check to be resubmitted after a delay and creating store rules that allow them to discriminate. I urge potential customers to think twice before supporting a business that seemingly disregards their customers' rights and treats them differently based on race. There are plenty of other firearm retailers who respect and uphold the principles of fairness, transparency, and constitutional rights.

The ratio of staff to students was 1 to 15 so by the time it was my turn to try it was so late and I was tired, couldn't see straight, and had to hang it up. We had already sat in a classroom for hours. There were two kids in the class who required more attention and the instructor did his best but there were just too many people. A lot of us left before we got to actually try shooting. I heard there used to be a lower staff to student ratio but the corporation got greedy. I'll have find another place to learn. All that time and money (I had to buy the class, rent a weapon, and buy ammo that I now have zero use for) and I've still never shot a gun. So disappointed.

If you're thinking of driving for a while to browse, it's not a bad place to go because there are soem decent restaurants nearby and you can make a roadtrip out of your journey. In comparison with Huron Valley Guns, this place is overshadowed by the sheer size and selection, plus, Oakland Tactical lacks a gun range which the facility could use. Since this is a Mom and Pop shop as they say, I'd encourage you to buy local if you're from teh area. I won't be driving so far to support them because I have choices near me but I'm glad I made the trip. Every gun range and store is worth a visit and a purchase to support the small businesses around us which give us choices when we need them. Kudos to the owners for setting up such a nice facility without a major corporate level budget like HVG. I like the personal touch of a small place. Side note: The guys who were working were both very friendly. One of them seemed to have been jazzed up on a bunch of caffein. I did the rifle and pistol ranges, which are down a long paved downhill sidewalk. 100 and 50 yard rifle and 3 to 25 yard pistol. There are some pistol plates. The firing positions are covered. There a safety employee on site who calls for the target change and supervises to make sure no one is near their firearms. Clean, well maintained. For some reason the targets use toothpicks, which is bad when the wind blows. Nice shooting benches. The range is pricey. Maybe too much. Probably too much.
