An excellent Novi community park with well maintained facilities, which is a double-edged sword because it is popular over the weekends. Thirteen miles of hiking/MTB trails. Two bikers for every hiker. It can get crowded if you aren't hiking alone with bike traffic. Surprisingly not too many bugs even though it rained the day before. TH at the very end of the parking lot. Numerous pavilions, fishing piers, playgrounds, and a small beach. I took a dip in the lake after hiking and it was refreshing, but the shoreline is small and the swimming area doesn't go much deeper than four feet. Water was clear, to the point where I could see a band aid in the sand. On another note, coming from Detroit you will run into construction on HWY 96 (Summer 22) as you near Kensington Park. I had minor delays at 9AM, but on my way back there were massive delays with only one operating lane. Check before you go. read more

Beware !!! If you are using Apple Maps it's says pets welcome but it's certainly NOT!! Drove there for a half hour with our dog and had to return because pets are NOT allowed. I'm really mad. read more

Such a great overall park for kids & families. A small beach nearby, playground, walking path. Just great all around for any season.

Lakeshore Park makes for great sunsets this time of year. Always a pleasant experience.

This is a nice park. I've been here a few times. It's nice to enjoy a walk here or sit and enjoy the view of the lake. It has never been crowded and the grounds are well kept. read more

A beautiful lakefront public access park. It's under the state recreation pass, so for access to the parking lot--it's $9 yearly for residents or $5 daily. There's essentially two sections. Beach and forest. Beach property is only open during summer season (June until Labor Day) and a locked gate (attempts to) prevents access during the off season. But the mountain bike trails are what this park might be best known for. 10 miles of single track that run along side hiking trails. Some great beginner technical areas for kids and starters. Props to the Motor City Mountain Bike Association for great maintenance. Happy trails! Edit: if you are interested in taking in nice views of Walled Lake, Pavilion Park (which does not have a yelp page) is Lakeshore's little brother park about a mile to the east. No connected paved path. Pavilion has more developed sidewalks and an interesting history, being the site of a popular amusement park from the 1920s to the 50s. Beautiful lakefront views with plenty of park benches. read more

Nice park, lots to do. Fun place if your looking to have a picnic. Renting a shelter can also be a good place to have a banquet or just a party. The building attendants were even better than the park! SO NICE!!!! read more

Dogs are NOT allowed on the beach. The park where dogs are allowed is on the other side of a tunnel. I spent a while online trying to figure out if the area where dogs were allowed was near the beach; it is not! read more

Since I am trying to care about my health, I dragged the bf here to jog through the trails. It is absolutely beautiful! I was super impressed by the 10 mile bike trail that they have. I wanted to go buy a bike just to ride through it. They also have playgrounds for the kids. Be careful of the dog poop near by the lake. read more

This a solid place to take the mountain bike. The grade changes are not too aggressive and there are piles of logs that you can jump. Generally, there is a long enough line of sight to where you can see the jumps coming. Parking is right by the trailhead-just pull into the park entrance and drive past the picnic plaza thing. The long loop is about 12 miles and there are turn offs and things if you want to take a smoother or shorter alternative. read more

Very clean & had a life gaurd on duty. It also has a decent amount of shade. The bathrooms were a bit of a hike but were clean. The playground & park on the opposite side of the lot was nice & the kids liked it. We've been about 3 times & i plan to buy a pass next year. Mercer beach directly on the other side of the lake is free but its packed & has port-o-potties. read more

This is our favorite park! Lakeshore has everything. Trails through the woods, two large play structures, and best of all - a great beach on walled lake. The beach has great shade trees so it is perfect for taking a picnic and the water is clear and shallow so it's great for the kids to play. The restrooms are open during the summer months and now they are even selling guernsey ice cream by the beach! If you are not a novi resident it's $5 to get in but that's well worth it. You can easily spend a whole day there! read more

nice park next to walled lake! free for novi residents. there are plenty of picnic tables, a little jungle gym for the kids and bathrooms (not porta potty). and if you cross the street there is a roped-off swimming area. the trail is through the woods. it was a nice and easy hike with the pups. lots of mountain bikers on the trails. we found a bmx trail off one of the paths. some of the paths are more well defined than others-most of them are on the trail maps which are found at the intersection of the main paths. read more

Well maintained mountain bike trails and a long course too (10 miles ~). It's good for people who have had some experience mountain biking and is not too technical and maybe beginners but beginners should go to island lake first. read more

Great park but the bathrooms are pretty far away from the play area; a pretty big deal when you've got little ones. I haven't gone to the beach area yet, but it looks pretty cramped when it's busy as it is pretty small. I suppose if you go, make the bathroom your first stop! :0) read more
