There are so many structures for kids of all ages! My only criticism is that it's not enclosed, although it looks like the dinosaur one under construction is completely enclosed. There's no shade in the play structures but honestly, they're so cool that a bunch of them have covered areas. There are some trees surrounding the play area so maybe bring a blanket to lounge on while your kids play.

Hines Drive runs through the center of the park and is wide enough to accomodate bikes. Some sections get a little tight, but you can steer back onto the asphalt path if you are on the right lane. Generally, heading west towards Ann Arbor has less traffic. At one point, a group of my friends took the trail onto connecting paths all the way to Ann Arbor. Aside from biking, the park has something for everyone. If you choose to drive, some areas have a parking alongside playgrounds, softball fields, golfing, gardens, and picnic area. Hines Park is the the great connector for numerous smaller parks. As with much of Michigan, the roads could be better maintained, but this green oasis is a gift to the greater Detroit metro area.

What I love is the forced civic responsibility as the surrounding corporates were obligated to preserve this center as a condition of land development opportunities. Some interesting birds to behold for birdwatching fans. Intermittent benches to sit on and a gazebo part of the way through. Walkway a bit sprayed with bird droppings but its understandable. The walkway and gazebo seem to be falling into a touch of disrepair and becoming a bit uneven structurally, but it's more an aesthetic issue than safety issue.

They have a playground (with bathrooms in the back) and the trail goes down a paved steep decline that then leads into the boardwalk path way. It is not the most stroller friendly mainly because you are dodging a TON of swan and geese poop the whole time. And it can be bumpy on some parts. But the whole pathway is pretty unique with bridges connecting it (at least 5 bridges) and there is one lookout spot you can go to. We went on a beautiful sunny and windy day and loved it!! In the fall, there is Scarecrows in the Park. In the winter, holiday decorations and the tree lighting display go up. There are always festivals in downtown Plymouth every season that run through Kellogg Park. There is the Ice Festival, Holiday Market, Michigan's 2nd largest art fair called Art in the Park, the Plymouth Fall Festival, Spring Artisan Market, and many more events. Plymouth outbeats other upscale suburban metro Detroit cities for fun activities due to the sheer number of festivals happening year-round in and around Kellogg Park and downtown. As much as I love the festivals and markets, Kellogg Park is very small and surrounded by parking and traffic. It's the kind of park for a stroll, not a place where you can do more than that for exercise, which is unfortunate. It would be nice to have more walking paths and exercise areas in Plymouth, but it's too small as it is.
