This place really deserves the five stars. I probably would not have known about them if my uncle didn't bring me some food home. He works at the GMC dealership down the street from the place. He asked me did I want some gumbo and I said sure. Let's start with the Mac and cheese my favorite. It's by far one of the near Mac and cheeses I have ever had. You can definitely tell it was baked with all fresh cheeses, no short cuts here. It didn't take too cheesy. It melts in your mouth. Very good! The gumbo was good as well. I believe it had rice? Chicken and sausage or shrimp. What ever it had in it gave it the right amount of spice and favor. The gumbo came with a corn muffin. The favors of the Mac and cheese, gumbo and corn muffin had me in food bliss. Can't wait to go there myself to try something else on the menu.

Creole Southern Food At It's Finest!!!! Location: Upon parking at this place, you would second guess yourself, but don't - you made the right decision. It is in the Shell Gas station by the Mall of Georgia. They have been open for 3 months and have a very trendy and inviting feel to the place, but small. Sitting bar around the cooking station and 3 tables with 4 chairs each. Ordering: Upon entry you will have to wait to get the cashier to put in your order. There are big menus on the walls and and laminated versions waiting for you everywhere. They take your order and you can sit down at 3 of the tables or you can choose from the 6 bar stools over looking the open chef kitchen. They will call out your order and you can grab from them at the counter. I would say it would be good if they took names to yell out and not just the order. We came at a busy night and everyone was ordering the fried chicken sandwich which they were featuring. The Food: We asked for their recommendations and both me and my husband had the fried chicken sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. The sandwich came with a "Slap Your Mama" Ranch which was amazing!! The sandwich looks didn't look all that promising, but OMG this sandwich was AMAZING/ PERFECT- hot, juicy, and the perfect crisp. I will add that my husband said his chicken tasted kind of "eggy", but mine didn't. The Mac and Cheese was a baked Mac with a browned top and a good hold. The noodles were good too. It wasn't the creamiest but the flavor was spot on. I also got to try the gumbo and rice and let me tell you it's so just like the real thing from New Orleans. It was so hot and just the right amount of spice with the Andouille sausage pieces - I highly recommend the Gumbo! Owner: The owner, Tracy, contacted me directly on Yelp to come in and try their food. He was very accommodating to me, but also to everyone there. All the staff was nice and educational with how and why their dishes are cooked and presented they way they are. The Chef that night was awesome and spoke to me about the prep process and how they are trained in the kitchen. I spoke to the owner about his business and how it was going. Definitely go show him some love as the food speaks for it self. Overall I really wanted to give them 4.5 stars but didn't think 4 stars was enough so 5 it is. I knocked a little down as they are still working out the kinks so you will need to be patient. The kitchen was a little all over the place and not everyone seemed to feel comfortable in the kitchen or expediting. Our mac and cheese side was on the warmish side but not definitely hot. Since they pull from warming station, you would expect it to be a nice temp. Note: our meal was comp by the owner but please know it did not sway my review.

Pretty wimpy portions for charging extra for shrimp (meat + one) entree.

Pretty great chow that I'd be more than happy to try again. The gumbo was meh (but maybe we're spoiled because the gumbo I make is really, really good), but the meats + one that we did both for adults, and for the kids, were all amazing. Small complaint was only one set of cutlery was in our bad for four meals, and the cost vs. portion for the shrimp (which was also an upcharge) as a meat plus one entree was waaaaay too shrimpy. Loved the pork, the fried chicken, and all the sides. Just good comfort food.

Tea brined skinless boneless fried chicken breast cutlet - hard pass

Not sure why it's called feast, more like skinny Creole! When it comes to southern creole the last thing that comes to mind is portion size. Considering the price point of the meal, has me thinking twice about coming to this place frequently. First the good stuff, the Étouffée was solid, it could definitely use more salt though, was a bit on the bland side and not as good as NOLO but when craving this would hit the spot. The grits (side) were pretty darn tasty, creamy, silky, and packed full of flavor. (The person that made this needs to taste check the other dishes). Not so good stuff, the Tea Brined Fried Chicken - the fried chicken breast pounded out to be similar to chicken katsu, was flavorless and the breading falls of the boneless skinless meat. The only saving grace was the BBQ sauce (mustard and Carolina were delish). Avoid, the Jambalaya - watery with no spice and overtly tomatoey. Surprisingly, even the sausage was lacking in flavor and salt. Overall, it's just ok. The only reason I'd go back is to try the shrimp and grits.

I happened to stumble upon Feast26, while looking for Black Owned restaurants in the Buford area; however it is NOT Black Owned. It was listed as so on another page. Be that as it may, Feast26 opened in September 2019 and is located right across from Mall of Georgia (on the Von Maur side). Feast26 serves Southern delicacies with meats such as pulled pork, sweet tea brined fried chicken, smoked 1/2 chicken, grilled & fried shrimp. They also offer Cajun/creole and marketplace-priced seafood. Some sides include collards, green beans, cajun fries, baked beans, red beans & rice, mac & cheese, smoked gouda grits, gumbo, fried okra, and grilled vegetables. The Service: The service was good. My coworker and I ordered Take-Out (as they do not offer dine-in due to COVID-19) and when she picked up our order, she stated they brought the food out to her car and was expecting her by name. The Parking: Free parking. The Atmosphere: Again, they are only available for takeout & delivery, so you won't see the inside for a while. No need to worry about it for now. The Southern Burrito w/ Cajun fries ($12): So, I'm sure y'all know me at this point. My eyes wander & I see too many things to choose from. I'm always having to narrow down my decisions through process of elimination saying "Oh, I'll just get that next time." After narrowing my choices down, I finally arrived to my top 2: The Southern Burrito or The Fried Chicken Sandwich. Coincidentally, my coworker wanted the fried chicken sandwich, so I just got the Southern Burrito this time around. Seeing pictures on their Instagram, the Southern Burrito looked VERY interesting. It's a burrito filled with pulled pork, collards, fried onions & rice, served with delicious peach bbq and a side of cajun fries. It was actually pretty good. The flavor of the pulled pork and collards compliments the burrito well, especially with the peach bbq. I love Mexican food, so I knew a burrito the Southern way, would do me just fine. In addition, I did something I don't usually do and ordered a dessert, which happened to be Banana Pudding ($4). Even though it was good, I feel that it was slightly expensive for the amount you get. Even some of my coworkers saw the cup and said, "That's it?!" If I'm paying $4, I'd want a bit more. The Fried Chicken Sandwich w/ Mac & Cheese ($12): Even though I didn't get it this time, my coworker was able to experience the Fried Chicken sandwich & spoke highly of it. The sandwich came with slap-ya-mama ranch & pickles on a grilled brioche. "The food was amazing. The macaroni was baked to perfection. The chicken sandwich was delicious, ESPECIALLY with the slap ya mama ranch! That ranch sauce is by far the STAR of the meal. Period! They give you way more than what you actually pay for. This restaurant pleased me and my homeboy!" Overall, I definitely recommend checking out Feast26 when you're in the Buford area. The food is really good and again, it is RIGHT by Mall of Georgia. #EatBlack 4.5 Stars (The Banana Pudding wuantis holding back from 5 stars)

Fried Catfish over Dirty Rice, mac n cheese, and collard greens

Excellent Surprise and hidden gem! If you like Cajun, Creole and Soul Food, this is the place for you. It sits on the end of the Shell Gas Station, and has indoor and outdoor seating. The atmosphere is laid back and the owner, Tracy and his daughter, Ashley cheerfully greet you as you cross the threshold of the door. The food is phenomenal and cooked to order! I had the Fried Catfish over dirty rice, collard greens, and Mac n Cheese and Bread Pudding to go. Portions are huge! Whew... I couldn't finish and needed a "to go" box. Owner Tracy even gave us a sample of the Shrimp n Grits with Smoked Gouda Cheese...they were delicious! Trust and believe...bring your appetite. you won't be disappointed!!!!

Teeny little place. It's in with a gas station so not a lot of parking either. The place smells amazing! They have two tables and a handful of bar stools. But most of the patrons were getting to go food. We decided to stay to see how they operated. We got Shrimp Etouffee, Shrimp and Grits and Beignets. The food came out hot! It was spiced just right! One of my fears is bland food. Both of these dishes actually tasted like something, great flavor! The beignets were also hot and came with a salted chocolate caramel dipping sauce. Very good! They have bottled drinks and fountain drinks. And they sell a couple items like pasta, tshirts and spices. The crew worked well together and were all very polite. I will definitely go back! Bonus - they have a Mitsubishi Electric mini split cooling the place!

Visit this place a few weeks ago and I will go back for sure. I order a bowl with chicken and rice to go. While waiting the chef was preparing a new recipe, tortilla bowl salad, the owner I guess ask If I wanted to try it, it was so good. ( see the picture ) I hope this item goes on the menu very soon !!! My bowl was delicious, made on order !!! Support your local business !!

This place is legit! My husband is from Carencro Louisiana. So we know good food, especially Cajun food. The atmosphere is amazing. Everyone working was very friendly to my entire family, and made sure to make conversation with my children. We had the Cajun burrito, pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, jalapeño coleslaw, Cajun french fries, And smoked wings. Everything was so delicious. The only downfall was that we went on a Saturday, on Sunday I definitely wanted seconds and they are not open on Sundays. I can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu. We did take home some crawfish Boudin to try later. I will update the review as I try more items. I wish this business nothing but success.

Fried chicken plate with jalepeno slaw & macncheese

Located next to a gas station by the MOG, this a true hidden gem!! Small, but nicely decorated interior with a few tables and a bar top that looks over the kitchen prep area. The gas station provides some interesting guests for takeout but it made for good people watching. It was busy the entire time we were there with both table service & takeout. Server was nice & owner was making the rounds greeting guests. Yummy Southern scratch made food with an easy menu - choose a protein (fried chicken, shrimp, pulled pork, smoked wings or 1/2 chicken) and make it a plate with sides or a bowl (meat on top of rice/macncheese/or potatoes). There are also some Creole choices - etouffee, gumbo, jambalaya. The kids menu includes 1 protein, 1 side and a drink. We tried a little bit of everything! Fried chicken was juicy and spiced right, macncheese was on point. Be prepared to feel the heat -- the fries and coleslaw were spicier than I like(jalepeno slaw & cajun spiced fries). My husband loved his etoufee & since they were running low on shrimp the chef added extra fried chicken to the top of his dish. Kids both had shrimp - 1 grilled, 1 fried with mashed taters. Plenty of food, and they both said the shrimp were cooked perfectly with just enough spice. Can't wait to come back & try more menu items!

Food that makes you wanna slap somebody!! This place is small, but doing all the big things right. Inside was clean and orderly. Staff was attentive and greated me immediately. I ordered the shrimp po boy which came with a side (I chose fries) and a drink for $10! The portions are huge and the entrees are made to order (so it may take a little longer). Its definitely worth the wait!!

Apparently, there are locations all the way to Michigan and Wisconsin even. Ordered curbside pickup online just to see if they really would honor it, fully expecting to go in, since so much of that has stopped since the height of COVID. We decided to try the Motherload sampler with a variety of sides. When we got there and checked in via text, we were surprised that they actually were going to come outside to deliver it (but we met them at the door in any case). Good to know for next time. Overall, it was a pretty satisfying meal. We tried as many sides as we could get with our meal. All of them were pretty great. I'm partial to my own homemade mac and cheese and greens, but they weren't bad. As far as the meats go, I think I liked the brisket, turkey breast, and sausage best. The ribs could have been more tender but were slightly better than the ones I got from Cozy Coop this year. I still haven't found a rib place that really sticks with me in my immediate area, but there are many more to try of course! I just like that turkey breast was even an option for the sampler. It was seasoned well and not dry also. I joined the rewards program, so I received a discount that I used up front. I would definitely like to try some of their sandwiches with housemade pastrami, nachos, and some more of the meats and sides. It seems to be a good, solid place for dinner or lunch with a lot of options for all. I'll be back.

It wasn't busy for a Sunday lunch but it's in a very tucked away location on Lakefield Drive. We ordered the beef noodle soup, gravy noodles, potstickers, XLB, and egg tarts. While presentation was great everything fell short except for the XLB and egg tarts. I do like that there is an option for a small portion of noodles - great if you want room to try other dishes. Noodles themselves were nice and chewy but the flavor and thickness of the broths felt like I was eating ramen instead of Chinese or Taiwanese noodle soups. Meats were tender. The gravy noodles had fish, pork, and duck in it and had too many mixes of flavors for us. The potstickers were large but too oily and didn't have much flavor inside. XLB were standard - I thought they were fine but could have used some more soup. Egg tarts were also flaky and good as expected. The waitress said be careful as they were hot from the oven but I couldn't wait since I love dessert. It was cold in the center lol. Otherwise flavor was great. I'm a self professed snob when it comes to food and this was delicious. I had Filet and Scallops, my wife had Shrimp & Scallops. I also got a chance to try the strip steak. The cooking was in point, the filet was so tender and juicy and the sauce was flavorful without being too salty over shadowing the meat. Anyone that knows seafood knows how easy it is to overcook shrimp and scallops. This seafood was perfection, melt in your mouth good, not one bite tough or chewy.
