You can't go wrong with the choices, here are some of the dishes we tried: Fried Chicken "JFC" - thumbs up for their fried chicken, very competently done, chicken is moist on the inside and the skin a nice and crispy, batter is the right amount. Props to the gravy, a hint of spices that doesn't distract. Just a little more expensive than your normal fried chicken dish but worth it. Lobster roll - this probably the best "value", it's hard to find any fresh lobster dishes for a tad over $20. You'll get a generous amount to spread over a sweet roll... like how they added the dressing to enhance the flavor of the lobster. It's a must order for every visit. Crab and Bacon sandwich - how could you go wrong with bacon paired with crab? Yes, it's a obvious pairing but don't see this commonly offered at restaurants. BTW, it's not your fake imitation crab mix, it's the real thing. Another solid choice. Another thumbs up for their efficient and friendly staff, they had our online orders ready without any issues. Is $33 (inclusive of tax and 15 percent tip) for a take out bowl of soup and forgotten piece of bread worth it? When the soup is a Thai spiced seafood bouillabaisse with an intense lobster broth, never frozen diver scallops, head on Kauai prawns, clams and a butter poached lobster claw all seafood properly cooked ala minute all to the correct doneness and mounted with a rich brandy butter, the answer is YES! Be on the lookout for the new high end specials. Make no mistake, these are fine dining restaurant caliber offerings. Transfer it from the disposable container to some nice crockery, break out the silverware, pour a glass of crisp sauvignon blanc and ahhhhh... Tip: follow on IG for new specials. The current high end special is the Restaurant Week Kunoa Ranch butter poached filet w/ truffle Madera sauce, mini lobster roll, and Kula green salad. More pedestrian offerings remain solid. The Hilo style hamburger steak from local grass fed beef enveloped in a thick mushroom gravy, always solid. As is the butter poached crab and bacon sandwich with a crab miso infused mayo for the umami goodness. All is not perfect, sadly the chicharrons, Filipino style roasted pork belly with coriander, tomato, onion and a vinegar sauce is too salty and fried too long being dry in some places. The skin, over cooled and rubbery. A dog chew. Finally the lobster roll, meh. Being partial to the Connecticut roll (hot lobster meat dipped in butter and stuffed in a roll), the Feast version with "umami mayo" is too creamy and hides the flavor of the properly cooked lobster meat. Hmmm...Last year, my wrap had spots of blue mold that I only noticed when I was almost finished eating my falafel wrap. The discovery made me hold back from ordering more food from Feast. This past week, however, I broke down and ordered some food hoping my experience last year was just one bad luck incident. However, this time the pita bread had a noticeable spot of blue mold. I was disappointed to discover mold, again, and it made me wonder how fresh all the ingredients really are at Feast. For example, the falafel is so very dark brown that you would not know if you were eating mold because it would be impossible to see on the dark surface. My Shawarma plate included about two tablespoons of hummus and the rice had no flavor. I don't think I will return to Feast. The lobster roll is so good but I waited to write a review until I could try more of their food. For Food-A-Go-Go week I got the Reef and Beef special. It was a splurge meal at $35 but it goes for a good cause supporting agricultural education in schools and uses local food. Every item of the plate had great flavor. First off it does come with a petite lobster roll which tastes just as good as its bigger brother. It came with a spicy sambal to have with the roll but I thought it was a bit overpowering for the lobster. The salad had a great dressing and quality vegetables. The wasabi mash I was a little worried about but there was just enough to give it flavor but not be distracting. Bacon slice was yummy, hard to go wrong with bacon! It's easy to call and order ahead of time, the staff is always super friendly and conscientious about what you need and when you need it. We've done pick up a few times, but recently I ordered something from myself for the first time: a lobster roll. Prices here are reasonable for the high quality flavorful food. Everything is packaged well. The lobster roll may be the best sandwich I've ever had: the rolls are grilled to perfection and stuffed full of large chunks of lobster meat served cold with dill and sauce, but not too wet to make the rolls soggy. Took a bento home to the wife (catering event) and she couldn't stop raving. The bread in the lobster roll was soft and buttery; and it was a good amount of lobster that was moist, not dry. Feast where do I begin? When I first saw the writeup in the newspaper on fabulous Jon Matsubara's newest project I bookmarked Feast. I have since discovered the reason for the rave on their lobster rolls. They are, THE MOST delicious lobster rolls I have had yet...and I have had plenty a lobster roll from Connecticut to San Diego, including a recent hunt in Boston for the best. Feast's lobster roll is served on three King's Hawaiian sweet rolls which perfectly compliment the delicate taste of the lobster. It is also large enough for me to have 2/3 for a meal and the last third as a later snack. Served with french fries, one can substitute a green salad of the freshest veges for $2 charge. I have also become addicted to the fresh, clean, yet bursting with flavor Salmon Chasuke. Its not huge yet definitely satisfying, most always having me leaving one or two bites behind. The big feast entree of hamburger steak and fried chicken is actually big enough to be two meals for me. Located just beyond Manoa Valley Shopping Center on East Manoa Road. When you see Starbucks and Off Da Hook Poke Shop, it is one block further and on the same side of the road. There is ample street parking and a small driveway in the back you can pull into first curbside delivery or quick pickup. We ordered online and did curbside pickup. The online ordering system for the lobster roll is you select the time slot you want to pick up the order. Now the lobster roll is on the pricey side ($21). With this new COVID life of uncertainty its hard to splurge on food. But trust me! This was worth every penny. They give such a generous amount of lobster. However, there's free street parking in the residential area. Feast is set up as a takeout establishment. Finally got the chance to try this place after seeing countless raves about it on social media. I placed my online order at least an hour before they opened so I was surprised to see that the pick-up time was 35 mins after opening but no big deal, I got time. Very convenient online ordering and offered the option of curbside pick-up, and here I am thinking, "Great! Don't even need to get out of my car!" I arrived at the pick-up location on Lowrey Ave 5 mins before the pick-up time and called the provided phone number as instructed. No answer, maybe they were just busy? I'll just keep calling. Called for almost 10 minutes straight until I finally gave up, parked the car, and walked in to grab my order. Had an awkward interaction with the person at the register; no pleasantries and completely ignored my question when I asked if my phone calls were coming through. He only asked for my name, grabbed my order from the table, and handed it to me. Here I am thinking maybe I forgot to opt for curbside pick-up but, lo and behold, the receipt taped to the bag clearly indicated I did and the car description I provided. I walked out, finally satisfied to have my food in hand, and check the contents before I drive off. It looks gorgeous and I couldn't resist eating a few fries before I leave just to find out that the fries were cold to the touch, no longer crunchy, and almost stale tasting. Confused, I check out the lobster roll; the bread is still soft and slightly warm but the lobster filling was no longer cold and on the verge of being lukewarm (not something I'm a fan of knowing that there's mayo in it). I head home as quickly as I can in an attempt to eat it before it gets any warmer. The amount of lobster filling was satisfying, had a nice umami flavor, I think it's made with Japanese Mayo which is always nice, and came with a lemon wedge and dill. The buttered and grilled bread rolls were a nice addition to provide a soft textured bed for the lobster. Further disappointed by the fries, didn't bother finishing it. For the total package of the lobster roll and fries, I would say $21 is an appropriate price but I'd much rather buy the lobster roll without the fries for cheaper, especially if that means I can get the food on time. Overall, a solid 3.7 because I was expecting more from the hype, but I'd be willing to go back again to try other menu items since it seems they have rotating specials. read more

I ordered takeout from Feast a few days ago and got the lobster roll, which I was super excited to try as I had heard many great things about it. The sandwich was loaded with thick pieces of lobsters (they definitely give your money's worth). This was packed between King's Sweet Bread rolls. They were really buttery and paired perfectly with the lobster. I got the roll with their fries, which were crispy and great for anyone who likes their fries more on the salty side. Although the regular lobster roll is what they're known for, I actually got the Spicy Lobster Roll as I love anything spicy, but the sauce was a bit too much. It wasn't necessarily super spicy, but it was very thick and completely covered the lobster. When I took a bite, I felt like I was getting more sauce than lobster. My son had the most expensive dish out of everything - the sake salmon chazuke. He devoured it in no time flat and he's a really picky eater! I think the words of my 6-year-old summed the sake salmon chazuke the best. She asked what I would rate the chazuke from 1 to 10. I said I gave it a 10. I'm almost too embarrassed to admit this, but just thinking back on the meal in order to write this review made me start to drool... and since we had some leftover pork belly from the chicarrones dish still in the fridge... midnight snack it was. I went to the KCC farmer's market today and stopped by the Feast booth. The staff said they ran out of mini lobster rolls but they could do half a lobster roll if we didn't want to get a full one. I happily obliged and assumed they would charge me half the price (or even just 2/3 of the price). They charged me $32 (with tax) for half a lobster roll. lol. I emailed them asking for a partial refund and was told "no." Why would I pay full price for half a lobster roll? I've been a customer since the pandemic days and this is just bad business. Feast is in its new location in manoa (right across of hawaii doggie bakery) for all you pet parents out there or just a little past the shopping center and morning glass ;) There's no parking but there's street parking in the housing area, so it's just a few minutes walk and you're there! I've actually been here twice. Well not this location but I've been at the Anasia location and this location and both times have been equally the same to me. Prices are kind of high for what it is. The food I had the first time at Anasia location was the crab sandwich and steak which were both equally salty. However the fries were great. But I really don't want to venture to an establishment for just fries. This time I saw on their ig that they had a Chicago deep dish pizza. Their picture was for an entire pizza but it was actually sold by the slice and with wings ... I was a little bummed. Not only was the pizza slice tiny but the price of this was $16! Omg! I really could have gone to Pizza Hut and be more satisfied with a personal pan for $5. Think there really is only 2 stalls located off of Lowrey, but not sure because had cars parked and not sure if was staff or customer parking. We decided to park across E Manoa road on the side by the Doggie Bakery. Came pre-COVID time, but do remember they had seating inside, but due to the parking, think this joint mainly does take out. With cute lightning and kinda old style decor, the place has a sense of charm to itself. Staff was helpful and friendly, but seemed outta sorts with what to do after our order was taken. Not a bad thing when a staff member is looking for work to do, but just didn't seemed like training of the staff was effective. We came because of the names JFC and Hilo Hamburger Style Steak... really tickled the senses and curiosity of what these where and what they tasted like. So, the JFC (Jon Fried Chicken) with da Secret Sauce... was just okay... wasn't blown away with the chicken, but the sauce was good. Kinda says something when the sauce tastes better than the item it's going on. The Hilo Style Hamburger Steak I remembered is more about quantity that quality, if any of you familiar with Cafe 100's Loco Moco, was hoping for that size and similar patty... only got the similar patty. For the pricing, we expected more in both taste and quantity. Tasted okay, but didn't taste like something you couldn't get for cheaper. I LOVE their lobster roll and fries! I usually get the side of 1 oz butter to drizzle over the lobster, doesn't need it though. The 3 sweet bread rolls they use are the perfect size and add a good amount of flavor. read more

I have been waiting for Feast to open. We have heard a lot about it and I was anxious to try it. It's open five days a week Tuesday through Saturday (closed Sunday and Monday) and the hours are 11 AM to 6 PM. Basically it's open for lunch or if you want to come for an early dinner. I think the plan is to extend the hours once the business has grown. We came early at 11 o'clock once the restaurant had opened and they were already several people sitting down in the restaurant. The food is served in takeout containers that you can take to go or you can eat at one of the tables. I ordered the butter poached crab and bacon sandwich ($15) my friend ordered Feast deluxe special which included shrimp, Poke and Kalua pork ($18). You place your order at the cash register and then pick up your meal once it's completed. They do offer canned juice beverages along with bottled water. There is a self dispenser for water which is also available however they do charge you $.50 a cup which was unexpected. Once our food arrived it looked wonderful! My friend dug into her deluxe plate and she enjoyed the Kalua pork, shrimp, and Poke. My crab and bacon sandwich was a bit soggy, but I was hungry, so I scarfed it down. The crab had a little bit of a weird taste and I then realized that it was actually canned crab and not fresh. Fresh crab would've been much better. I probably should've gotten the fries as an add-on, because after eating the sandwich I was still hungry. Best Lobster Roll I have ever had! Plenty of large chunks of lobster meat oozing out of your sandwich which is served on 3 connected sweet Hawaiian rolls and perfectly buttered and not seasoned too much to maintain the natural lobster flavor. They do not skimp here! It is worth the $30. Even the skinny fries came perfectly battered. The portion was huge and I barely made a dent in my fries. Due to covid, there is not seating available so we ended up finding a curb to eat at nearby. Be sure to check their hours before making the trip. Ha Ha Ha! About time that my neighborhood got a gourmet restaurant rather than Kaka'ako! I've been waiting to try Feast for a while after reading the Frolic Article, but their hours were somewhat unfriendly for a down town office worker like me. Then Saturday hours came in like a foodie wrecking ball and my local neighborhood crew went down to sample the fair. It looks like the menu got truncated for Saturday, but that's okay with me. My small party ordered the Hamakua mushroom bisque, the butter poached crab and bacon sandwich with the deluxe crispy jumbo soft shell crab, Hilo-style hamburger steak, Jonny's fried chicken, and an order of the shoestring fries. The bisque was mushroom-y, but not very instagrammable. The fries were delicious, being crunchy yet soft in the middle, with the right about of salt, and most importantly, not greasy. Definitely a must for any of the main offerings and can easily serve two to three people. The butter poached crab with two solid pieces of bacon, was served with vegetables and soft bread. The bread could have been a little more toasted, but excellent flavor and lots of shredded crab. The Hilo hamburger steak was beefy, yet extremely tender, almost meatloaf consistency, with onions, rice, and lots and lots of gravy. Hands down a winner. JFC, or Jonny's fried chicken, I think was the tastiest of the dishes we ordered, with a nice crunch of dark chicken meat almost katsu style, but with Jon Matsubara's own take on it. It was served with a slightly spicy, but flavor packed sauce that is nothing like katsu sauce. Clearly, the JFC is another recommended entrée to fill your belly. Now to that crab, which you've all been waiting for. Tasty, crispy, with slightly sweet crab meat, this is a winner. A tad pricey at $10 extra, but this is Hawaii and that's just that additional price we pay here. Rather than eat this in the sandwich, we broke it into pieces so everyone could try. Consider this the luxury for the day you go and just get it. Service is limited to ordering and calling your name out so they can drop off your food at your table. While the food quality screams higher class, this is still very casual. Sign up for Fivestar and you can get a free order of fries with any entrée. Parking is a little dicey as there's only a two or so car lot next door, so be prepared to look for street parking. Interior is clean, with a very rustic feel. Recently got takeout here last month with my boyfriend. So I placed the online order a day in advance since they only have takeout. Also, they do charge a 2.7% for credit card purchases. So I made the order for pick up at 11am however they did text me ahead of time that our time was pushed back to 11:15am but it worked out perfect for us especially on a Saturday morning. Pick up was easy I just called and they came out to my car, I definitely recommend curbside pick up. We ordered 4 lobster rolls and a salmon with soba salad. Now this wasn't all for just me and my boyfriend haha probably could have been, but we also ordered for our parents as well who wanted to try the lobster rolls. Overall, everyone enjoyed their food. read more

My husband loves the lobster rolls so that's his go to. I usually get the salmon somen salad. Unfortunately there isn't many options for our kids (or maybe it's just our kids). read more
