Nice local business with a robust menu of choices, some done well, some not do well. In particular I found the Burger quality to be lacking in flavor and size for the price being charged compared to other places in Novato. Btw, if you want any condiments on your bun you better request otherwise the bun will be dry and void of any sauce.The wings and fries were delicious for what it's worth. I never give one star reviews, but after viewing all the out of town five stars and my experiences I felt I needed to post this. They have reviews for "Best burger in Sonoma County", however are in Marin County. Did they buy that status? We only ever go there in a pinch due to the fact that the burgers are dry and overpriced and they are closest food. I don't usually check in there because I am embarrassed to let people know I eat there. Also the Spot On system doesn't work and they won't figure it out. Today we ordered chili cheese fries, a cheese burger with the tomatoes and onions and pickles on the side (I know it seems picky but I can't eat some and my partner can't eat the other) but they were all cut up in the same bag and a milkshake. They charged us extra for having a mixed milkshake, but it was AWEFULL. We called to let them know how separated, gross, and milky the shake was, not complaining about the other food, simply asking for a refund for the milkshake. Marco said he was the manager, then said he wasn't and couldn't give a refund, then said he simply wouldn't, then said we had to come in for a new one, then said he heard my partner swearing, then changed to him hearing me swearing in the background. I don't swear and my partner kept his cool the entire time. Marco then hung up on us. The funniest part was when defending that the milkshake couldn't possibly be too liquid was that he said he watched it get made, then said he made it himself, then said they don't use milk. I've had the opportunity to be treated to an FBI burger a few months ago and never got around to writing a review; but here we go!!! I had a bacon cheeseburger with fries and it was PERFECTION!! The burger was juicy, the bacon was crisp and flavorful!!! The fries were the perfect crispy and soft in the center and HOT, HOT, HOT, just the way I like it!! A few weeks ago, I ordered via door dash for someone who was sick and could not leave their home. My daughter ordered a hamburger. She gave it a thumbs up. She ordered a chocolate shake with whip cream and she said it was good. I got 10 Oz pulled pork. It came with corn bread and fries. I liked my pulled pork it was flavored with BBQ sauce on top. I liked the fries and dipped it in my extra BBQ sauce. The corn bread was ok. It was a little dry. I had Dr. Pepper to drink. I'm not a harsh food critic at all but everything was terrible. -Swiss burger had no flavor, the mushrooms were mushy and flavorless. Patty wasn't fresh -kids corn dog, was burnt so bad the batter was black wasn't edible. They put the burnt part face down so we wouldn't see. -BLTA, how could you mess this up? We really enjoy our meals from FBI Burger! Our go to is a burger slider (they include all the extras on it), a Swiss burger, onion rings and fries. To be honest, when it comes to onion rings we are often disappointed. The best ones we've ever had were in a small CO ski town (decades ago) and they were either beer battered or tempura battered and it's the benchmark we use for onion rings. I think the closest we've come to that benchmark are FBI Burger. The burgers and fries are also great. We don't eat beef on a regular basis but I've got to say since we discovered FBI Burger our beef consumption has gone up. Cannot wait to check out the shakes. read more

Too busy to have our usual Burger Friday, so we did Burger Saturday. Haven't been here for a few years since the new owners took over from JJ's. I had the single (pepper Jack) cheeseburger with mayo and pickles, and my husband had a single classic burger with mayo, lettuce, onion, and tomato. Both burgers were excellent, very flavorful, and arrived quickly. Next time I would order mine medium rare though. Their default setting seems to be medium which is how my husband likes his. He also had fries and a chocolate shake. The fries were exceptional - crispy and salty. His milkshake got a thumbs up. Super nice people behind the counter. I visited the shop as soon as it opened for my lunch break at work. The employees were polite, prompt, and attentive. The venue was much like your run of the mill burger joint and was clean. My Swiss Burger came quickly with the additions I ordered. The buns were soft, warm, and the skin was just crisp enough for that great texture. The veggies were crisp and fresh, the sauces (on the side) paired well with the flavors, and the sautéed onion and mushrooms had good flavor. The meat is substantial. It was clear that the fat content was low, but high enough that the burger was just juicy enough for a pleasant mouthfeel and the flavor was subtle but well balanced. About my only complaint is the price, as the burger with the added onion ring and BBQ sauce without fries or a drink was $13+. Overall, the high quality is reflected in it's price and would definitely recommend it for those who have the extra change to foot the bill. read more

Wow, all the reviews so far are very love it or hate it. I really don't think they've changed anything since the final days of JJs. Yes, it's expensive and for a family of four you're going to pay a lot. But JJs had raised its prices continuously and really wasn't much different. Likewise the seasoning etc. really isn't any different than JJs had the last couple years. If they hadn't changed the name I doubt anybody would have noticed the people running it had changed once again. That being said, the prior family was kind of phoning it in by the end so I think some of the people doing the comparing are thinking of how things were a few years ago... including the prices. All that being said I'd eat there a lot more often if the prices were more reasonable. Even allowing for Marin pricing that last round of price hikes from JJs were a bit much and, well, they're still a bit much. read more

Signs for No Substitutions underlined in red, Sauces extra $0.50 underlined in red, Restrooms for customers only, no A/C. Went there with a few friends to grab food. It was so hot inside we got our food to go. Food was overpriced for you received. DO NOT get a shake there. We got a vanilla and chocolate shake. They tasted like the milk went bad. FBI could stand for Fantastic Burgers Inside We chanced on this place driving home from a road trip. I am extremely picky about Burgers (don't get me started on how overrated In & Out is). But FBI Burgers truly measures up. I got the California burger. My burger was seasoned well, grilled to perfection and served on a fresh brioche bun. There was a generous portion of avocado, lettuce and tomatoes and all of the produce was super fresh. I also ordered an Oreo shake which was worth the $6+ price. I stole half of the hubby's cornbread and man-oh-man was it good. I make an excellent cornbread from scratch (of course). FBI Burgers cornbread humbled me. In addition, the staff was super friendly. Being new to Novato, I Googled where to get a good burger and FBI was one of the options. After looking at the menu online, I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised - it was delicious! The burgers were flavorful and juicy. The produce was crispy fresh. The charbroil flavor was perfect. We also got an order of pesto fries, cause I'm a glutton. They were soggy, my fault, the ride home was long. Even soggy, they were quite tasty! The service was awesome as well. The gentleman that greeted us and took our order was friendly and helpful. He was patient, answered all of our questions and even made a couple of suggestions. My only critique is that, in my opinion, the food would have benefited from some salt and pepper.
