Even though it was near closing time on a busy Saturday night the employees were smiling and friendly. The restaurant was very clean and truly every employee I saw was pleasant and helpful. The jalapeño cheese curds were excellent! They were actually spicier than I had expected. I love jalapeños but many things that are advertised as jalapeño contain just a hint of jalapeño but these were spicy and full of jalapeño. I also ordered a grilled cheese and it was very good too. I know the jalapeño cheese curds are only a limited time feature but I wish Culver's would consider adding them to the regular menu.

It feels like an old German inn. The waitress staff wore cultural dresses. They even have a cute little gift shop. The salad bar looked fresh with plenty of options. I had the Ruben. It was delicious. It does not come with any sauce, but the waitress was happy to grab me thousand island. This was probably one of the best Ruben's I've had. Along with the wursts, I ordered a salad and completely enjoyed their house made blue cheese dressing. The beer menu had Spaten Special. Spaten is a rare treat for and this is the first time I have even enjoyed it on tap. When I was leaving, I was able to buy a six pack of harder to find German beers. My adult son loves German beer and did not even recognize one I brought that he loved. Restraining myself, I made only modest purchases in the gift shop. This will not be true next visit. As far as the museum aspect, there are many displays. Down one wall are many car models, train models, liquor decanters and numerous other German items. A few years ago while on one of our regular trips to the Jasper, Indiana area to visit my wife's family, many of our regular restaurant locations were closed when we stopped to grab a late dinner. Not wanting fast food, we decided to stop at this Applebee's location on the North end of town. Our experience and continued experiences here have made this a regular stop for us. We were greeted as we walked in the door by two young ladies who genuinely seemed to enjoy their job instead of the typical attitude displayed by so many service workers who seemed put out for having to look up from their phones. The entire server and bar staff were engaging, friendly, and helpful during our visit, and when we made a special order to accommodate my wife's dairy allergy, they took our requests seriously. It is a very comfortable place to relax, unwind from the road, and enjoy a meal and cold beer before heading to our hotel for the night. The food has been excellent on each visit and prepared perfectly. Portion sizes are huge, so I usually order off the appetizer menu and have always left satisfied. My wife loves their Chicken Oriental Salad. They also offer a full selection of ice-cold draft beers in either 16-ounce or 22-ounce glasses. A perfect treat to finish out a long day traveling. We will return here as long as they continue to offer the service and quality they do.
