The staff at this small town was very friendly, but we were there for nearly two hours waiting on mostly burgers and sandwiches. I ordered the cod, which was an unfortunate decision. As you can see in the picture, they looked, and tasted like frozen fish fillets that you can get at any local grocery store. The inside more closely resembled fish mush than actual fish. Others' food tasted fine, but some came out barely warm, as was the case with my German potatoes. While the restaurant had a small town charm and friendly staff, I can't say that I will be back. My wife and I are staying at the French Lick Villas and on the refrigerator was a magnet advertising this establishment. We decided to go for dinner on Sunday evening and at first we were seated inside. It was a bit stuffy inside and so we asked Ian, our waiter, if we could sit outside and keep him as our server. He said yes and we sat in their clean and comfortable outdoor seating area. Unsure of what to order, I asked Ian for a recommendation. He said their pizza was really good and we could get a 16" unlimited topping pizza with breadsticks for $31. Let me tell you, his recommendation was absolutely incredible. The pizza came out hot fresh more toppings than you could ask for and the breadsticks were just as good! This pizza for sure is one of the top five best pizzas I have had at a restaurant. If you get the chance and are in French lick for any amount of time, make sure you go to Kelley's and order the pizza! My wife and I both highly recommend! read more

First time here. My waitress was very nice and helpful. She recommended the fried chicken. I'm glad I ordered it. It was definitely not precooked and reheated ! Freshly cooked and fresh tasting. Very happy with it. I ordered the fried potatoes and steamed broccoli with cheese sauce to go with it . The broccoli was cooked fresh and not frozen with a decent cheese sauce. The potatoes were good also. I will definitely be back to try something else. Food was solid and the prices are good. The owner was waiting tables, answering phones, running food and cleaning tables. He's a no nonsense type of guy running a small town bar/restaurant. I had a personal chef salad that was huge and big enough for the 4 of us at the table. The pizza was highly recommended. It was meaty, but not cheesy and the crust was just ok. I think it is fine to eat while hanging with friends ca while drinking, but I would t call it in for take out. The alcohol and all food was affordable, so solid 4 stars. We also had the torpedo shrimp which was a fried shrimp dish which was a generous portion for the price. read more

My wife and I were taking the scenic route back from a weekend of camping at Lincoln state park and decided to stop at Kelley's on our way through. We enjoy hitting local fare when we travel, and we were very much rewarded on this stop. Our first impression was that this was a nice well kept local pub and eatery, but when we walked in and saw the size of the place we were impressed. The whole place was clean, the staff was friendly, and the menu had a lot of variety. I ordered the horseshoe. Basically it was an open face hamburger covered in fries, covered in cheese sauce, covered in bacon and some seasonings. OMG, I couldn't have asked for more!! It was amazing. I ate the whole thing with the exception of a small handful of fries. I hope to make a tradition of stopping here whenever we travel to Lincoln or Holiday world, or even Patoka lake, it's close enough to make the trip totally worth it. read more

Just outside of French Lick, Indiana... GREAT little dive for pizza (our choice) and many other options on the menu! Special of the day was shrimp platter. Warm and cozy space with a bar and plenty of seating with not too big of a crowd. Quick and friendly service. We ordered a sausage and mushroom pizza and a cheese pizza. Along with breadsticks and tried the fried pickles. Pizza was fresh and hot... and delicious! SO much sausage, mushroom and cheese loaded on this pizza! OH YUM! Breadsticks were fresh and came with cheese and marinara sauces. And the fried pickles were pretty good, too. Pickle chips deep fried. Price was good! Quality was wonderful! We stopped in for breakfast with good friends who live nearby. They serve breakfast Monday through Saturday. Their full menu is varied and includes lots of standard bar fare. Service is good, fast and friendly, and the food for the price was really good! I highly recommend the German potatoes. Sausage links are only available at breakfast on Saturdays - and after trying one, I understand why...they are very tasty and a special treat. I love this place! They have the best fried tenderloin sandwich you will ever eat! You may also try the fried tenderloin dinner....two large pieces with 2 sides! They also have the best chili! Another favorite is the BLT sandwich and fries. They have a good variety of food on the menu and homemade deserts too! The pizzas are also wonderful! Last but not least, they serve a wonderful breakfast as well. I recommended you try the German Fries. There is a bar area and also a large family dining room. This place is great. They have a bar you can eat in or the have a great family dining room. The food is always good and the Pizza is AWESOME. My husband and I eat here for lunch a lot. I'm giving this place one star because I have to. We made a second trip here to try the pizza, after having been told it was delicious. There were 4 regulars sitting at the bar, and one of them said the 'N' word. Then the group, one in particular, started talking about how "everyone" in New Albany were "dumb asses" and then said, "we don't take too kindly to people from New Albany in these parts"!!!!! What parts????? Deliverance?????? Because that is what it felt like!!!!! So we left. One more comment was made. I turned around and said, "I'm from Floyd County and I am NOT a dumb ass". The 4 all chimed in, and one lady who actually works there said, "nobody asked you to come here". My husband said, "what did you say?!" But of course she didn't answer. Don't worry. We will never go back. Worst experience ever in my life at any restaurant/bar, whatever. Don't waste your time with these small minded people. read more
