I was in town for work and was looking for a local owned spot. Found this restaurant close to our hotel. This was a Monday night and a lot of the restaurants in Jasper, Indiana are closed on Mondays. I was so hoping this would be better food. The wings were not done and not tasty at all. My daughter only ate two and threw the rest away. The fries absolutely had no seasoning, not even salt. I ordered a coney. The sauce had no flavor. I ate it just because I was hungry. I ordered fried pickles after eating one I literally threw the whole thing away. I have never tasted such bad fried pickles before. This place was sure a disappointment. read more

We walked in the door at 8 pm on a Saturday and unfortunately they were closing due to severe storms in the area. The bartender was cleaning but he was extremely friendly and nice. He apologized for closing early, which we understood and tried to help with other suggestions. It is what I crave when I'm away, and what I can't get enough of when I'm in town. This place isn't fancy. It's not fussy and not concerned with fru-fru or food trends. This is a place that cooks everything in the kitchen as if made at home and brings it to you hot, fresh, and made to order. They don't have a lot of beers on tap, but beer snobs like me can get Upland Wheat brought down from Bloomington, IN. Fried chicken (cooked to order, you will wait, because they properly pan fry it), burgers, red hots (hot dog with a chili sauce), sandwiches, soups, etc. It's basic, good, fare. Service is prompt, attentive, and friendly. This is a can't-miss spot in Jasper. It's that place locals go and don't tell anyone else about. read more

Took my Valentine to HQ last night for a special dinner - we heard they had fillets in addition to their normal unbelievable ribeye steak. The filet was the best I've had in Jasper. Perfectly prepared and seasoned to the T. Filet minion is my favorite cut of beef so I was skeptical but was so happy after the first bite. My wife along with her sister and husband all had the filet and they all had the same experience. I hope they make this a reoccurring item on the menu. read more

My husband is originally from Jasper and everytime we are back in town we always are craving their food. Fried cheese balls with ranch are to die for!!! I think on the weekends they have a pretty sold Rib eye steak. Other than that, it's just really good bar food. I even picked up a Headquarters tee shirt as a souvenir!!!! Everyone there is always friendly. Headquarters is Jasper's "Cheers"(the t.v show). Everyone knows each other and they all will give you a welcome! Nice little small-town bar. They don't have a huge beer selection, but you can get Upland Wheat now if you're a beer snob like me. There's the bar on one side and the sitdown restaurant on the other. Great food. They've got the usual Southern Indiana fare Breaded Tenderloins, German Fries (that's potatoes and onions to auslanders like me) and Fried Chicken.
