Crispy Noodle snack, minced chicken meat pie (opened and unopened), tiramisu and red velvet cake.

The name/The Brand/The full bakery experience...this classic Chinese Bakery is always consistent with it's tasty selections. Nothing less than 20+ items of buns, cakes, cookies and other assorted baked goodies. I always come for the egg tarts but they often get sold out quickly so you gotta come early. As often as I can, I try to stock up on some family favorites: Baked hot dog in a bun - as it sounds Coconut bun - minced coconut baked inside a buttery bun Bun filled with cream and topped with shaved coconut Almond cookies - individually wrapped for the large size or mini's Sesame Balls - crunchy and slightly sweet, comes in a large container Palmiers - elephant ear cookies, sugary and crisp The pork floss bun Egg tarts (when there's any left!) The variety of cakes is too many to tell but red velvet, tiramisu, vanilla roll cake, cheesecake, chocolate cake, and sponge cakes are always on hand. Given the economical pricing, it's the perfect place to grab a snack / mini meal to go / great for gifting / and a sweet pit stop indeed. Don't forget the drinks (hot/cold, juices, slushes, and other canned/bottled options).

It's pretty popular with the elderly. Prices are low and food is decent. They have a $10 card minimum. Staff were nice.

My order was a chicken bao and milk tea. I really enjoyed my order! The bao wasn't too stuffed or filling, so it was just what I wanted. The milk tea was also just what I wanted! There's a variety of delicious, affordable bakery options here, and I really enjoyed taking my order to Elmhurst park :)

This store has been closed for a few days now. In the past, I usually buy bread, pastries, drinks, and/or steamed buns. The food quality is okay for what you get in the area. Sometimes the cakes are fresh, sometimes it's not. The price is a bit expensive, but still cheaper than other options elsewhere. Seating is always full.

This Fay-Da has really cleaned up their act here. The store has new furniture and has expanded itself with more diverse baked items. Out of all the Fay-Da's that I have been to this is is my favorite for there are more tables than the one's in Forest Hills. Not a mob scene like Tai Pan or 88 Bakery. The staff is friendly and helpful. Not just ring you up and collect money from you like many of these Asian Bakeries. I see more variety of Croissants with different fillings like the one's you see at Au Bon Pain. Folks this is a neighborhood one. The regular peeps are friendly and if they see you looking for seats they motion you to join them or let you know they done, so you can sit down. They even leave the paper for the next patron to sit relax, eat and read the paper. My favorite is the corn and ham bun. The middle is creamy- other bakeries do not make them the same way. Wonder if they put more mayonnaise in the center, but it is good. Have not tried their cakes or cold drinks. Will be back again for sure.

I don't know where I get these "$10 gift certificates" to asian bakeries but I always end up having them around. I had one for Fay Da and I've been meaning to get some stuff for breakfast. A lot of what you get here you can buy cheaper at other asian bakeries. I initially wanted to buy their vanilla roll cake which they have for $11 but I buy from another asian bakery for $6. So, instead I bought a few muffins, a corn bun, a curry pocket, and a coconut raisin bread. I don't know why they put nuts in it but I do like the muffins. Their corn pastry I enjoyed the corn part but the pastry part was a little dry. I also thought the curry pocket was dry as well. It was also super flaky and the curry part inside I thought could have had more flavor. All together the price for everything was about $10.50. I probably wouldn't come back unless I had one of those gift certificate again. They do make a bunch of drinks though. I sometimes go to get milk tea which they make pretty well.

We came to the bakery before eating dinner and picked up 2 hot dog buns, 2 coconut cream buns, 1 roast pork bun, 1 sweet butter bun, 1 sweet milk bun. All of this for a little under 12.00 Next time we are going to come earlier before noon.

This is the go-to Chinese bakery in Elmhurst. It is the biggest one in the neighborhood and is actually bigger than most of the other Fay Da locations in NYC as well. There is a very large seating area and they have a much bigger selection of hot and cold food, with and without meat. There are also a lot of pastries and cakes and bubble tea available. Pretty much anything you can think of in the Chinatown bakeries is available in this place. I like to eat some buns with a hot milk tea.

I don't understand why a large bubble tea here is $4.50 but a medium green tea WITH NO BUBBLES is $4.25

Grabbed a decent sub-$3 chocolate mousse, having tried other more Asian items at the Manhattan locations.

I change my mind about their bubble tea. The creamy froth sticks to your lips, feels like fat! Kung Fu is much much better.

I decided to try their Coconut Pandan cake which was enjoyable except for the jelly they had in the middle. The cake itself was pretty moist and the cream had a nice Pandan flavor. The Portuguese egg tart is what you would expect from one of these bakery's, very basic but it was nice and flaky. The milk tea was also okay, we asked for less sugar so it was not too sweet. We also got the sesame mochi to go and this was delicious! Definitely the best thing I bought from this bakery. The sesame paste was nice and strong but not too gritty and the mochi was super soft. I have to go back to grab another when I get the chance!

The prices for both sandwiches and bun have jumped up since January. I stopped here to get items for family and relatives/friends. Not impressed with their chicken sandwiches for they were hard and there is tendon in one other chicken sandwich has area that was not edible. The quality definitely not what it use to be here. There were lots of seats and tables for patrons to sit. Notice less foot traffic at this store.

We came by the day before Mother's Day, so they had pre decorated Mother's Day cakes. You can also place an order. Service is quick and friendly. We initially planned on getting a Strawberry Shortcake, as that seemed to be the cake to get. However, we opted for the Cheesecake, because we were able to add fresh strawberries (and whipped cream) on top! I'm not a fan of whipped cream, so I avoided that, but everyone seemed to enjoy. It had a good creamy texture and was not too sweet. The strawberries were indeed fresh. The pound cake was soft and airy. The vanilla flavor comes through. I will have to try the Marbled version next time! Note: Cash Only! A regular customer ordered the tiramisu cake; said it was the best cake ever, so will have to try that next time!

A friend recommended it to me, and I've already ordered two birthday cakes from here. The tiramisu cake was absolutely delicious, honestly one of the best I've ever had. I didn't even know you could customize a tiramisu cake since it's usually served the traditional way, but they made it exactly how I wanted. As someone who loves tiramisu, this really stood out. I also ordered a strawberry shortcake, and it was just as impressive. The buttercream was so good , light, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Everyone loved it, and there wasn't a single slice left. The owner's son (I believe) was super helpful, he really takes the time to understand what you want and brings it to life perfectly. I've also tried their croissants, which are huge and delicious, and the hero bread is excellent too. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash.I'll definitely be ordering all my cakes from here moving forward!

Their hot milk tea is a cozy, comforting drink that warms the soul. Fay Da's milk tea may still hold the title for my favorite, but Yi Mei's version is a very close contender. The sponge cake? A pleasant surprise. Despite some folks claiming the bread isn't fresh, I've never really had a negative experience with them. But then again, I only get the sponge cake and I can't differentiate fresh vs not fresh between them (I'll just assume that if it's NOT fresh, I would have been able to tell). For ethnic places like Yi Mei, I don't put much weight on service standards. Comparing them to American restaurants would be like comparing apples to oranges. What truly matters is the authenticity and the food quality, and Yi Mei nails both. So, if you find yourself in the area with a rumbling stomach, swing by Yi Mei Bakery.
