THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE QUALITY OF THE FLOWERS AND A SPEEDY DELIVERY!…read more I searched for weeks for reasonably priced gumpaste flowers for my wedding cake. I learned that by being resourceful I don't have to pay $300 and up for a wedding cake! I made a deal with a local baker and all I needed to do was purchase my own gumpaste flowers and ribbon for a simple 3 tiered white cake. I purchased the 3 Rose spray (Size XL) to use as a topper. The flowers came in the mail 48 hours later from NY to Vegas!.....keep in mind I only paid for standard shipping which was supposed to take up to 9 nine days. I knew i'd be in good hands once I saw the name------Sampaguita LLC. Maraming Salamat Po!!!!

For my birthday this year, I requested a Red Ribbon Bakeshop cake from my wife. I love their Mango…read moreSupreme cake, as well as the Ube Coconut Log. The bright yellow of the mango and the purple of the ube are unique, as well as the exotic flavors. The cake itself is light and sweet without being cloyingly sweet and the cream is not as heavy as American or Italian style bakeries. We also ordered their Filipino style empanadas with different meat fillings, 2 each of chicken, pork & beef. If you buy 6, you get a bonus empanada, but they threw in 2 extra ones this time! Each meat flavor comes in a slightly different shape to tell them apart. They are baked and not fried like some other meat pies, so the crust is more pie-dough-like instead of crispy or flaky layered. The chicken empanada is just like a handheld pot pie and tastes exactly like one, too!

How can you expect them to work in such bad conditions and not even be there to help them. Turn on the AC for Christ sakes. I wish I could have done more for the workers.

stopped into Paris Baguette the other day and it's exactly what you want from a chain like this…read more Not pretending to be artisanal, but still hitting a solid level of quality. I grabbed a ham and cheese croissant and a strawberry soft cream cake. The croissant was actually flaky with a decent butter flavor, not dry or bready like a lot of chain spots. The ham wasn't cheap-tasting either, which I half expected. The strawberry cake was light and not overly sweet, more whipped cream than sugar bomb, which made it easy to finish without feeling gross. Also tried their iced latte. Nothing fancy, but it wasn't burnt or watery, which honestly already puts it above a lot of similar chains. What stands out is consistency. You can walk into almost any location and know exactly what you're getting. Display is always stocked, everything looks clean, and the ordering process is quick even when it's busy. It's not a destination bakery, but that's not the point. It's a reliable, better-than-average stop when you want something quick that still feels a little elevated.

The staff is really nice and easy-going. Also, the young (I think) 2nd Gen owner (very cool seeing the culture carried on) is there a lot. Everything is freshly baked and a good portion. Even the sandwiches and salads in the packaged food case look really good. I've had the custard cream bun, hotdog garlic roll, & a egg, ham & hash brown roll (wasn't a huge fan, the hash brown doesn't stay crispy). I've tried the Portuguese egg tart (Pastel de Nata) & that wasn't so great - reminded me of the egg tarts from Aldi, sweet bland filler custard. The staff can heat the pastries up for you, but it might take at least two rounds for larger items. Highly recommend the round fried rice flour/mochi doughnut, soboro bao (the peanut butter crust-topped bun) & if they have, a coffee/mocha shell-topped bao. You can't go wrong with a Korean chiffon cake slice - not too sweet, and light as air buttercream. Not sure if the strawberry cake is based off of Japanese strawberry (birthday) cake. I've never had their drinks, so don't have a review about them. I don't get the impression that the drinks are the strength of the café. Paris Baguette is a chain from Korea. I think their cafés in Korea are a lot bigger and very nice/comfortable, the US version is a more minimal and quick service kind of set up. For $4 -15 you can get a decent pastry, sandwich, or salad which is a great option for the area, LaGuardia Community College students & hotel guests nearby.

The Portuguese egg tart is what you would expect from one of these bakery's, very basic but it was nice and flaky. The milk tea was also okay, we asked for less sugar so it was not too sweet. We also got the sesame mochi to go and this was delicious! Definitely the best thing I bought from this bakery. The sesame paste was nice and strong but not too gritty and the mochi was super soft.
