Came in at about 530pm on Friday, November 17th, their second day of business. With all new businesses, especially restaurants, you can expect some kinks to be ironed out, but the one thing that will always offset these things is customer service. The restaurant has about 8 tables, mixed between 4-tops and 2-tops, and 6 seats(I think) at the sushi bar in front of the chefs and on this night it was full with some parties waiting. With it being so busy, we had to wait a bit for our first glasses of water, water refills, our food, and our check. But our server was very apologetic that everything took a while. He asked for our feedback on the food and was very friendly overall. On to the food, the sushi prices were pretty reasonable for the basic rolls, but the signature rolls were on the pricier side. We ordered the Philadelphia, Mill Creek and shrimp tempura roll... well actually, we ordered the salmon skin roll and they delivered a shrimp tempura roll, instead. I let the server know and he apologized for that and he took the salmon skin roll off our check and let us have the shrimp tempura roll. All the rolls were good, but again, the Mill Creek roll was $14 and was the smallest roll out of the three. Bottom line - I may come here again in a few months to see if changes were made or to try their nigiri, but I'd probably end up at Oceano or Sushi Zen before then if I had a sushi craving. Hopped in here on a quiet day for a celebratory lunch as I had a time constraint. Service was fast and many laughs were had over the marble soda...for the record we both had strawberry and it brought us back to our childhood! We split the lunch special of 3 rolls for $15. The most flavorful by far was the Shrimp Tempura, but we also had the Eel Avocado and the Spicy Salmon. Rolls were small but we had miso soup as well and were full without being stuffed. Was it memorable? Not really but certainly not the worst and convenience won. My new favorite sushi place! We like to sit at the bar; the sushi rolls are always beautiful and tasty! I recommend trying one or more of the Chef's Signature Rolls, like the Oyster Bay Roll, Volcano Roll, or Happy Dragon Roll. On top of this, they do not make compromises for the quality of takeout, it is just as good at dining in. The prices are great for the quality of food and portions you get, the staff is beyond friendly and welcoming, and the food was fantastic. There are many options to choose from , but we got 3 for $15 sushi, a poke bowl, pan fried edamame, and pork gyoza. We also tried the sparkling jelly sake. I wasn't a fan of the jelly in the drink but that's a personal preference, and had nothing to do with the service and food we got. I so badly wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, I just didn't. Being Asian, I've had my fare share of sushi and ramen, and I was really excited that there is a place close to my house that serves both. First off, their sushi was just OK. Nothing spectacular about it... it wasn't terrible, but wasn't great either. And for how much they charge for their rolls, I was hoping it would AWESOME. I might give their sushi a try again, but would probably come during happy hour when the rolls aren't too expensive. I was really hungry so I also ordered the shrimp shumai appetizer. They were probably the best part of my meal, but when looking at them, I thought it was funny because they were identical to the frozen ones I bought at Central Market the week before. Hmm... Now, the sad part for me, was the ramen. I had a mad ramen craving for weeks and so when I heard they have ramen, I thought it was meant to be. However, I don't think I've ever had ramen so flavorless before! I've had Top Ramen from a package that was more flavorful. I ordered their miso ramen with tofu, and miso is usually flavorful and on point. However, everything was just bland. This is my new favorite sushi spot in Mill Creek. Delicious sushi (most important), but also a lovely restaurant. The service is pretty quick, considering we were here on a Sunday evening. The restaurant is clean and smells good. The staff is kind and polite and checked on us a perfect amount. We brought our four month daughter and they made sure we were comfortable with her sitting on the chair after a high chair seating didn't work out. We enjoyed three rolls and ice tea. I normally like this place, but tonight was horrible. Our waitress was in a hurry, our reservations were at 7pm and the restaurant did not close until 9:30pm. We sat with no service until 7:30pm and we were hurried until we felt forced to leave the restaurant at 8:45pm. The food of course was great, we love sushi. I will attempt this restaurant one more time due to Covid, but the rudeness of cleaning around us and hurrying us on the bill to the point of not asking us about ordering more rolls and desert was not the norm. So many places haven't adapted their carry out containers which sabotage the food in transit, the containers here assist the food and take nothing away! Had our last dine in before the new lockdown starting tomorrow. Fatty fish has always been absolutely consistent with very high quality and fresh sushi. Sonny and Raymond are fabulous as are the servers and always provide beautiful, artistic dishes. We are deeply saddened and angry that even without solid evidence that restaurants even spread COVID. It is tragic that the governor is shutting restaurants and other businesses down again. I truly hope the community helps to support this wonderful restaurant during these hardships. I always get the same thing when I go there so I can't speak for the rest of the food or sushi but the teriyaki salmon, miso soup, and edamame are always perfect!
