Where should I start... First off they clearly don't live in the 21st century.. The hours listed on Google are incorrect I drove all the way there thinking it was open come to find out they only open at 4pm not 11am . Not exactly sure why but I decided to give them another chance so I went back after 4pm of course . I then learn once I get there that they only accept cash . luckily they have an ATM handy so I. Would spend money to get money out to pay them for my pizza... Why make the customer pay 15% of the total to an ATM machine to pay for the pizza.. If you had a credit card machine you can build the 3% fees you pay into the cost of the pizza... This is a huge turn off and not to mention a huge inconvenience. If I had to rate just the pizza alone I would give it 3 stars . it was decent but surely not worth all the trouble to get it . I would like to hope they would read this and learn to better serve their customers... But I know that won't happen based on the fact they neglect to update information on huge sites such as Google . read more

I've been here many many times growing up even before they moved locations. Always been satisfied. Decided to take my girlfriend here after raving about it for over a year, to be beyond disappointed. We ordered a deep dish pizza to share, wings, and a mushroom appetizer. The mushrooms were fine, the pizza was way over-cooked and crunchy, and the wings had little to no sauce at all on them and slightly undercooked. Very disappointed. Will not be returning. read more

The deep dish pizza was amazing! I have never had such good deep dish, or any pizza in the valley (been here for 23 years), as good as this place. I'm so glad we just moved out here or else I would never have tired this place. It does take 45 minutes to make the deep dish, so best call ahead and pick up, or get a drink and relax in the casual dining area. Moved to Mesa 3 months ago from Chicago. Did a search for Chicago style pizza and found this place. I ordered 2 thin crust pizzas and I had to run to the store before I picked them up. I was running a little bit late and they actually called to let me know my pizzas were done and ready to be picked up. I picked them up and when I got home they were still hot and fresh. Coming from Chicago I am very particular about my pizza. This place is the best place I have found so far for pizza and I have tried all of the pizza places around me. AMAZING- Hands down the most delicious pizza/Italian in all of Arizona. Including those large chain restaurants!! they cannot come near the authenticity of this place. The owners and staff are so so wonderful! And the food is to die for! We ordered a stuffed pizza- savored every bite and have lunch tomorrow! Every bite screamed from scratch and made us plan out next dozen visits. They are not skimpy at all! Good pizza. Lots of it. Ordered two med size pizzas felt like I was carrying a med size turkey to the car. Takes a long time to cook ,so order before your hungry. OUTSTANDING food and the service was even better! Had been looking for a good Chicago deep dish pizza and coming up depressingly short. NO MORE - this is the real deal, and swoon-worthy. For such a thick, deep crust it was surprisingly light, not at all doughy and no grease in sight. The toppings were fresh and plentiful and the sauce flavorful. And the cheese . . . as God intended it to be. Can't wait to come back to try more of the Italian fare, but especially looking forward to trying the Texas style BBQ. Love how the owners Pete and Peggy integrate both their backgrounds in the menu. Great to dine in a place where the owners and staff don't just stop at your table to see how everything is but actually engage you in conversation. We saw a lot of repeat customers chatting with the owners and servers, a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere. It's a bit of a hike for us to the location but well worth the trip! Pizza is not good, owner insists on putting the toppings under the cheese which make a soggy mess with thin crust. Apparently he has more ego than common sense, we ask if he would put the topping on top, answer was NO! I think they are called "toppings" for a reason. Ordered a "side" of meatballs. Ok, get ready for this, 4 meatballs for $2.50. What a deal! Oh, you want sauce with that? Ok, $3.00 extra! What??? Yes, the meatballs were the size of marbles, with a little sauce on top. Ordered a works pizza and a antipasto salad. I wanted to get it delivered but it was going to be an hour and a half so I picked it up which still ended up being ready in the same time. The salad was mainly onion and green peppers. The pizza was mainly onion green peppers and cheese. The pizza is big but to get it cooked they have to burn the crust. Being from Chicago our first question of the locals was where we could get a good pizza. Everyone told us to go to Fatman's. We looked at the website and were encouraged when we saw they got their meat from the South Side of Chicago and used only fresh veges. We ordered a deep dish Hawaiian and a thin crust SMOG (sausage, mushrooms, onion, green pepper). The sauce on the thin crust was watery and tasteless (I never had to use salt on a pizza before) the deep dish crust tasted like bad Bisquick. I appreciate the hype from the locals but evidently they haven't had real Chicago pizza before. Hubby said Walmart brand pizza had more flavor because this pizza is an insult to Chicago. read more

Customer service was excellent. I met Pete the owner and his wife who both know what customer service is all about. They went above and beyond to help us on our first visit. We got the gluten free pizza for my wife and pepperoni and sausage for me. They were awesome. We will be back again to try some of the other items on the menu. If I could give a 3.5 star rating I would. Being a Chicago transplant I have been dying for a real Chicago pizza (not the cardboard and cheese severed throughout the valley). First off, a few things. Those complaining it took 45min to get a pizza, that is how long it takes to cook a true deepdish even in the Windy City. The sauce can be served on top or under the cheese (Ginos East serves it on top, and Giordanos vice versa) in the Chicagoland area. Whoever said this is not a true Chicago pizza does not have any idea what they are talking about it is. Next, I have been here several times, and the owner/manager has always been very polite. He will talk your ear off about Chicago if you let him, and I welcome friendly local business owners! That fact someone claimed he said, "I have the busiest pizza in town", I don't buy it at all, not after all the chats I have had with him. The owner will bend over backwards to fix anything you are not happy with, that's how a business should be run! Ok, onto the food. The veggies, cheese and meat on the pizza are fantastic! just how I remember it. The sauce is good, but in my opinion could use more flavor with garlic, oregano, etc. The main complaint I do have is the crust. It is deepdish and and has the right texture, but lacks all flavor. I am used to Chicago chains having a much more buttery crust (maybe a little garlic in it as well not sure). It is a tasty pizza but doesn't quite have all the kick or flavor of spices that the chains in Chitown have. Definately worth trying though! Also the bottom of the box was really wet when we got it from juices soaking through....may want to bring somethign if you are picking up. read more
