From the moment we walked in, the staff was kind, welcoming, and made us feel like they genuinely cared. Our daughter finally got her "fancy pasta," and the food was delicious. I wish I could share more, but Yelp only supports 5,000 characters. First of all, the place was a ghost town. On a Sunday evening at prime dinner time, only about 5 tables were occupied. Then we got to our seat.. &Everything began to make sense... It's no wonder why the place was nearly bare... Our waiter was Markus. Markus was all over the place & one of the most ill-mannered waiters I've experienced in quite a while. His personality was terrible. He was not attentive whatsoever, which again, was completely unacceptable because there weren't many people dining at the time... I'll make a list of some of Markus' greatest moments during our visit.... Three people at our table ordered Pork Chops.... Markus asked how they wanted their meat prepared, she responded, "Oh, I don't know? Medium?" He came back with "Well, I don't know either, I'm not the one eating it." My husband ordered a pasta dish with steak & shrimp. He did not want the shrimp, so he ordered that on the side because apparently there is not an option to reduce the price of the dish if you opt out. When asked how he would like his steak cooked, my husband jokingly said "The right way!" Markus was clearly not impressed. He grumbled, tweaked his head in frustration, & started naming the options for how the steak could be prepared. Trying to lighten the mood was not in the cards for the evening. Another member of the party commented on how the cut of meat has declined substantially since their last visit. The piece of meat was primarily composed of fat and bone. He asked Markus if it was normal, and his response was "Uh... Yeah. Normally pork chops have bones and fat on them," and wandered off. Not happy with the response, he pulled a manager over. She asked if he would like something else off the menu, but he declined as he already finished his meal. This resulted in a $20 deduction from their bill, which was a much more favorable customer service experience. I had a complimentary appetizer, which I told Markus about prior to ordering. When it came time to pay the bill, I reminded him about the coupon. He took down my number for rewards but came back to let me know that I could not have a free appetizer because it was not on my account. I showed him the email sent 3 hours prior, but he told me there was nothing he could do, claiming "the offer isn't usually valid for 24-48 hours after receiving it" & wandered off. At that point, my husband went to grab someone else. Another waitress looked up my account, told me the offer didn't exist, and claimed it's only valid for "my next visit." She sighed, slammed the receipt down on the table, stating "I am not even your waitress. I can't help you. I'll go get a manager." A male manager strolled up, and after explaining for the THIRD time, he took the appetizer off our bill anyways. Pretty sad I had to twist 3 arms to get $6 off my bill during happy hour. Another guest in the party had $15 in rewards to redeem. Apparently since I had a coupon, she was not able to redeem her reward, despite being on separate tickets! Markus said "Well, it's only one offer per table, so what are you guys gonna do?" Way to make things uncomfortable. Once the manager decided to override my free appetizer, both her and I were finally able to use our rewards. My grandma ordered a hot tea following her meal, because we brought in a cake to share. It wasn't until after all the checks came out, were paid, and everyone finished their cake that the tea finally made its debut. It arrived barely lukewarm, and my grandma got stuck paying $4 for a less than mediocre cup of tea that she described as "a cup of pee". When the checks arrived, my husband made a joke about the youngest child picking up everyone's tabs. Markus stared right at my child, and chimed in with "Ok well you better give me a 20% tip!" Now he decides to crack a joke? Except nobody was laughing at this point. Since we had a group of 10, the "suggested tip" of 18% was auto-applied to our bill. It felt a bit odd that there was no clear space to adjust this "suggestion" which felt immoral to me. Honestly, Markus did not deserve a tip at all and it was frustrating that I was not given an opportunity to deduct from this amount. Needless to say, this was a horrible experience and I will NOT be returning.
