Cassie was a fabulous dive master! We did two shore dives with her at Koloa Landing. She was so easy to work with and informative. Loved her! I would dive again with her any day! We also saw tons of turtles and when we saw one with fishing line on it, and could not get it off with what any of us had on us, she made it a priority to get someone else going out to look for him so they could help that turtle out which is awesome. I recently just completed the Open Water Diver certification with Fathom Five Divers. If you're serious about investing in yourself for the ability to scuba dive you will want guide that can will take the time to make sure you get the attention, you need to learn skills and safety precautions required to scuba dive. With the help of my teacher, Jeannette, not only have I have I learned how to dive properly and safely, but more importantly, I was provided an environment to learn and given very close attention needed to for me to learn in a way I would feel comfortable doing this again anywhere in the world. This is saying a lot as I have a history of not picking up on things very fast. Jeannette was detailed, patient and made sure I understood everything crystal clear before moving to the next skill. Another big reason to choose Fathom Five Divers is because they not only appreciate that you learn the proper skills but they also give you the time in open water to explore and actually experience a proper dive. This experience will be remembered forever. I will admit there was a fear of doing this but all of that has past now that I have learned the proper skills and was guided in a way I could learn to appreciate the open water diving like I would of never thought possible. I was so excited about the whole process that after finishing the course which took a lot of energy later that night, I did an open water dive with Jeannette at night that was a pure adrenaline rush. You really can see a lot more at night then the daytime and if you have not tried this, I highly recommend it. While my journey isn't over, I'm incredibly grateful for Fathom Five Divers in helping me to take my first step into what seems will be a lifelong journey for me and never-ending adventures. Had an excellent experience with fathom Five. Booked the Kōloa landing 2 tank dive. Not sure what the girl at the front desks name was. My check in was at 7:30 am on 7/14/25. Wanted to make sure she got her appropriate appreciation. She was very kind and helpful to everyone that morning. Then met Kat at Kōloa landing. She was very knowledgeable and led to very good dives. Saw a ton of turtles, different fish species, eagle ray, eels, and much more. She set up all of our equipment which was unexpected. Gave a great dive briefing and was very attentive to the divers during dive. Made sure to check all diver air consumption and status. Notice d her visually checking on divers frequently. I note this because I've been on booked dives in other locations and countries where the DM's hardly checked on divers at all. Especially with varying levels of experience. My group and I found Fathom Five Divers (FFD) online during a search for Kauai Scuba Diving tours. When we called over, FFD boasted a variety of destination guided dives and other guide services. Part of my scuba group contracted FFD for a guided shore dive, which was nothing short of amazing! We were so thrilled with this guided tour, we contracted a 6-pack boat dive with FFD and dove two tanks. The experience the Dive Masters show of the area speaks volumes of their years of work in this area. With so much to look at, our guides were able to locate, identify, and show many different endemic species that we could only see off the coast of Kauai. FFD has plenty of 5-star reviews, and our experience as a group echos their reputation. If there were more stars to give, I gladly would without hesitation! My buddies and I brought down a few GoPro cameras to film our time. FFD staff were very receptive of this and let us take a moment here and there to get a good shot for youtube / social media. I would highly recommend FFD to any scuba diver or snorkeler on their Kauai vacation! If we visit Kauai again, we are certainly doing another dive with FFD! read more

I dove yesterday with Drake as the captain and Julie as the dive master. There was a couple of wrecks on Kaumiali'i highway that morning and the shop reached out to me to see how I was doing to help me get to the boat. With their advice I got there on time. The surf was pretty rough, yet Drake made things look easy. Drake was the safety officer and it was very apparent that he took the 1st goal of diving very seriously -get back alive! Julie was a delight. You could tell that this wasn't just a job but a calling. I have dove all over and it is rare to see a dive master with so much passion and enthusiasm. We had an excellent experience and highly recommend fathom dive. We have done other short dives and had over an hour of instruction with other dive shops. Fathom Five is a great outfit to work with when diving on Kauai! The website works well and there wasn't a question that went unanswered. I wasn't sure if I should change my dive dates due to weather conditions and upon request got a quick call back with reassuring reports on the weather, water and tide conditions for my dive date. The shop is cool and the people are friendly and knowledgeable. Specifically, I want to thank Tracy for two great dives. She is so experienced but more importantly, very calming and good natured. What's not to like? I had a "private" two-tank dive because the other two people who were scheduled to join accidentally booked the wrong day. This turned out to be a great advantage, especially since it had been nearly six years since my last SCUBA dive. Sivan, the Dive Master, was excellent. On the way to the first dive site, he gave me a thorough and much-needed refresher on the basics, which made me feel more confident and relaxed before getting back into the water. We visited two dive sites: Stone House and Sheraton Caverns. While Stone House was a decent dive, Sheraton Caverns stood out, especially with the number of turtles we saw. It was the more interesting of the two, offering a unique underwater experience. Although I was hoping to see a bit more biodiversity and vibrant colors, I understand that, as a rusty diver, starting with easier sites was a smart choice. It allowed me to ease back into diving without feeling overwhelmed. Overall, diving with Fathom Five was a great experience. I appreciated their professionalism, especially Sivan's attentive guidance, and I would recommend them to anyone looking to dive in the area. read more

Overall good experience. Shop owner (Loni) is friendly and gets you going with what you need but if you are expecting a lot of hand holding this is not the shop for you. Note, you'll check in at the shop but then take your own vehicle down to Kōloa landing and have to locate your dive master as all the other dive shops stage there as well. Also note initial visibility near the descending bouy is dependent on weather conditions so initially your visibility may be just a few feet so stay close to your lead and buddy. Once past that, the dive was good with lots of sealife and Will did a great job of taking us through areas teeming with a wide variety of life including large sea turtles, eels, octopus!, and many schools of fish. Kudos to Will for that. He was also thorough and calm. If I did it again I would probably opt for a boat dive versus walking in at Kōloa landing as conditions can be a little rough walking to the water over the dirt/stone parking lot then the slippery boat ramp then the slippery submerged bouldered entry with full gear--more so exiting. Would be good for everyone's business to get that lot at least semi paved and clear the trip hazard boulders at the bottom of the boat ramp. read more

I have never in my life had such a relaxing time while diving. It was nice to be pampered. The staff at the shop and the boat were so laid back and it put everyone at ease. The boat crew set up our equipment and helped us put on/take off our gear. So accommodating. I'm used to dive boats where it's very hands off and " fend for yourself" mentality. Lots of dive boats have egos that are annoying. Not Fathom! Everyone just had a great time and enjoyed themselves. What I love most was how the boat was not crowded, there was plenty of space to move around, it felt like a private charter, Drake our captain was fantastic and you felt safe, and our dive master, Linda educated us and prepared us so well! Didn't know anything about diving 6 weeks before my trip to Kauai, and thanks to Fathom Five Divers I am now certified and a much more confident diver in the open ocean. It was a short but informative conversation with Samantha that led to the initial reservation. after having my basic questions answered I paid for the E-learning and prepared for my certification experience weeks before arriving. When I arrived on Kauai I was given a pre-dive check-in by the staff to make sure all questions were answered and point out where I was going to meet them for initial waivers. The in-office staff was kind and patient as I took care of the required docs. After the docs were taken care of I met with Jeannette who was my instructor for the rest of the course. She ran the meetings like a well-oiled operation.... Very educated and informative. After the confined dives and the open-water dives, I was a much more confident and comfortable diver. If I could give Fathom Five Divers a negative score, I would. It amazes me how this outfit can get so many good reviews when they are complete idiots. I bought a gift card for my husband to do a dive. He called Fathom Five to book a dive. The woman who answered told him to book online. Okay, that's fine. He does that. On the morning of the dive, my husband goes to the shop where the woman behind the desk doesn't acknowledge my husband's presence at all. Then she tells my husband they canceled his dive - even though they took several other people on the boat. This woman doesn't apologize, doesn't even offer an opportunity to re-book for another day. Instead, she just dismissed my husband. Then, it became a whole email debacle for her to refund my credit card. What a disgrace. I am not sure why anyone books with this company. read more

HIGHLY recommend Fathom Five Divers. Scheduling the dive was easy as well as the check in process. Store wasn't far from the shore dive site, which was helpful after we checked in. Ample parking at the store. We did two shore dives with Shaun and he was amazing. Very knowledgeable and informed us of what we could see underwater. We got lucky and saw dolphins before we entered the water from the shore. Once underwater, we saw an octopus, eels, lots of fish and turtles, as well as hearing whales throughout the second dive. It was valet diving as we didn't have to worry about swapping and setting up gear since Shaun took care of it for us. Our dive instructor was Savin. It was very clear that he was very passionate about scuba diving, safety and taking care of the environment. We booked a beginner's dive after being told the water conditions would improve the next day. While the dive instructor was great, the waters were rough and I couldn't go through with the dive. I spoke to the store that same day and was told that the owner would give me a call. I called the next morning and I was told to come in the afternoon for a partial refund. When I went a second time, the owner/manager was not in, nor was he answering calls about the partial refund. The person working that day agreed to refund me a small amount. Overall, I experienced a lack of professionalism. Someone outside the store also saw us the next day and remembered our names despite us never speaking to him. Strange experience. read more
