When we arrived and checked in for our tour, the worker asked if we were local, checked our IDs, and refunded the money to our card. We didn't even have to ask for the Kama'aina discount! The captain was super engaging during our time out in the ocean. He made sure to give us ample time to see the dolphins, informed us of the conditions, and talked to passengers aboard. The conditions when we went were super choppy, so me and a handful of other people started to feel seasick. We were all sitting at the back of the boat, and the workers kept coming to check on us. They brought us waters, alcohol pads, and barf bags. Even if you don't think you need it, it may be best to take motion sickness medicine before you get on the boat. They do not sell Dramamine on the boat, but they do have it at the check in shop. Everything was super organized, and all the instructions were very clear. The only thing that I wasn't a big fan of was how much they were trying to upsell on the photos. If you're looking to see the Na Pali coast, I would highly recommend booking through Captain Andy's.

They were very attentive to where each swimmer was in the water. My spouse got seasick after trying natural remedies (next time Dramamine!) and they were so kind and helpful. My child had so much fun riding the bouncing mat and being splashed at the front of the ship. Another kid highlight was seeing dolphins. The BBQ lunch was actually delicious and usually food is not very good on excursions, but it was great at Captain Andys!

We saw many whales, spinner dolphins, and a baby monk seal. The views & water at the Napali coast were breathtaking. Cap Kevin took us right up to the waterfall & cave where Hawaiian royalty bathed. It's also a little thrill ride at times, as Cap is masterful at getting you around to see everything and still be back on land in a timely manner. The sunset was gorgeous and the food and drink was phenomenal. This was the highlight of our trip to Kauai and we did some pretty magical things!

It had a little bit of cover, so as a ginger that burns, I sat towards the front and was able to stay mostly out of the sun the entire trip We were able to learn so much about the land, cruised next to a massive pod of dolphins and went in two caves. It was amazing. When we got to the snorkel spot they brought out some drinks and snacks. Snacks included fresh pineapple, chips and granola bars. They do have a bathroom on board for emergencies....but they let you know straight up it's not something you WANT to use if you can avoid it. My only complaint is that they didn't urge people to stay seated on the ride back. This older gentleman decided to come up and stand right next to me to jump and ride the waves? And kept slamming into me and stepping on my feet. Our bench was full so I had no room to move over. I asked him nicely to stop and he ignored me, and the guides ignored him. There are signs all over saying to stay seated when the boat is moving.

Since it had been so long, we wanted to do it again. So Tod found this company online and booked it. We are experienced freedivers, so he called ahead of time asking if the captain would be able to visit the Sheraton caverns. Captain said yes if conditions are good! Fast forward to the very next day, we arrive at check in where we met Anna. There was only 1 other guest on our tour, so essentially we had the whole boat to ourselves. Pretty cool! So thankful they didn't cancel on us as I know some boats have to when there is little occupancy. She went over all safety. While waiting, cute neighboring cows came over to say hi. We head down to the ramp and we meet Drew the captain. Anna let Drew know that we are freedivers so he definitely made sure we visited the caverns. It was so full of life, tons of turtles. Clarity was great. So awesome. Then they took us to PK and that location was teaming with life also! Even a turtle cleaning station right next to the boat about 15/20 ft down. So cool! The zodiac boat is definitely a rush, and you will get a little arm workout while holding on. Drew played great music, and Anna gave us some history on a couple spots. We actually got a nice upgrade! Originally we booked the Imiloa Express but they what to do maintenance on the boat so we were moved to the Lucky Lady! It was an all female crew which I love! Those ladies were amazing. So incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We learned so much history and had a fun time just chatting. They provided a buffet with kalua pork and tacos, drinks, and chips. It was honestly really good! They also had amenities for those who got sea sick. I've never been one to get sea sick or car sick but I took Dramamine just in case and am glad I did based on how many people were sick! Trust me, just take it. Better safe than sorry bc those poor people looked miserable. They are not kidding when they say you'll get wet!! The ride is ROUGH for a good portion of the trip. But once you get to the coast and hit calm waters it's well worth it. One our trip, we saw dolphins, a rainbow, and at the end we saw the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen right on the water. We made multiple stops to look for animals and listen to our captain share interesting facts about the land and its history. We also stopped to snorkel and enjoyed breakfast sandwiches. We were able to go into a few sea caves and even went under a small waterfall. On the way back, our captain gave us a much more adventurous ride! It's definitely not for the faint of heart. We were jamming to music, jumping waves, and getting completely sprayed with water. If you get motion sick I would take their recommendation to medicate and medicate again after you eat! She's very experienced, knowledgable and put my mind at ease on shore and in the water. Felt incredibly safe diving with her and excited to explore the underwater wonderland of Kauai. My two boat dives with Julie were enjoyable as well. The water was a bit choppy on the surface after a couple days of wind and rain and she did a great job of explaining what to expect, keeping the group together underwater and ensuring everyone was safe, enjoying themselves and seeing lots of cool things.
