Wonderful experience! They do the luxury cruise perfectly. We did a sunset dinner and it was amazing! We got on the boat and found a great, comfortable spot to take in the views. Right away the crew brought around ice water to keep everyone hydrated. The captain then warned everyone that they may get wet during the ride up the coast which I didn't realize! People who decided to sit at the front of the ship got soaked so be prepared! We were also not aware that the bar didn't open until we got to the end of the Na Pali coastline and turned around. That was 2 hours in but once we turned around, wine and drinks were available and an amazing dinner was served!

We did the sunset dinner cruise. Good food, good vibes, lot's of fun! It's truly an incredible experience to be eating a filet mignon with the Napali coast as your backdrop.

My husband and I went on a sunset dinner cruise and used Captain Andy's! The cruise itself was wonderful and the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. The views that we saw were breathtaking and the food was so delicious. I was afraid to get seasick, so I did take some motion sickness pills, but I didn't feel sick at all. The captain and crew made sure our ride was as smooth as possible and we truly had the best time!!

Zero situational awareness that other people would have like to take photos as well

Book this tour!!! We sailed with Captain Andy's while visiting Kauai in late July. We went with the morning BBQ star snorkel cruise and loved it. They served us yummy breakfast sandwiches and fruit before we jumped in the water and snorkeled for an hour. After the snorkel we headed up to the Napali coast. It gets a little bumpy heading up because of the speed of the boat but it honestly wasn't bad at all and I didnt see anyone on the boat struggle with seasickness. The coast was just surreal, so magnificent to see it up close . We saw dolphins too. I liked the fact that they had a photographer on board that was capturing everything and you had the option to purchase photos at the end. It was nice because I didn't have to worry about carrying around a camera or phone and some people would park on the side of the deck and take all the space and take pictures the entire time never moving over for other people to take photos as well so it was nice to have the photographer there to catch them. The lunch was also delicious and cooked on the spot. They also had beer, seltzers, water, and sodas. All in all, it was a great day, I would recommend Captain Andy's if you're looking to see the Napali coast by boat.

The highlight of our stay! The coast cannot be expressed in words. It's magical and monumental. The staff was extremely friendly and kind and the dinner was excellent. Don't miss this opportunity!

This is the third time we have done snorkeling, BBQ, and cruise while in Hawaii. This was by far the best experience yet. Checking in was very quick and organized. Once you check in you get a boarding pass sent to your phone. There is plenty of parking in the lot just past the shop. The shop itself had a nice selection of merchandise and comfortable chairs. Captain Kyler was welcoming and friendly. He was informative and entertaining along the way. Chef Jimmy was awesome. He prepared grilled marinated chicken and burgers accompanied by freshly made salads. He was friendly and even walked around the boat a couple of times with a microfiber cloth to clean everyone's sunglasses. Both Katie and Izzy were right there whenever you wanted a beverage and they kept all the plates and glasses cleaned up, The view of the coast is spectacular. I would highly recommend spending a day with this great group of people!

AMAZING! That's the only way I can describe this experience. Yesterday my wife and I did the Na Pali Raft Expedition with Captain Maddie and Logan and every moment exceeded our expectations. From the moment we got checked in until we got off the boat we were laughing with them and could not have asked for a better crew. Maddie took us on a wild adventure while Logan kept the laughs going. Pair them with the awesome playlist and we had an amazing time seeing the coast from our raft. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants a memorable trip and who won't mind being a little sore the next day! If you get Maddie and Logan I would say you are in for an unforgettable experience!! They go above and beyond to make it special.

Such an amazing experience! Truly worth every penny. Seeing the beauty of the Na Pali Coast during sunset felt unreal. I hope everyone gets to experience at least once in a lifetime. The staff were incredibly nice and welcoming, and the food was sooo good. Everything about this tour was unforgettable!

Had such an amazing time with Captain Keanu and Izzy on the Na Pali Raft Snorkel Adventure! They were super transparent with the weather conditions the day we went and we still decided to go. Best decision ever, the day ended up being beautiful and it was an adventure of a lifetime. Totally recommend doing this at least once in your life. We saw turtles, dolphins, and sea caves. Also got to snorkel and they provided snacks and water!

If you are on Kauai - do this trip. (We did the sunset dinner cruise). You deserve it. Was a highlight of our trip, and my partner just kept saying "Epic" over and over as words failed him. First, this company is incredibly well run. It's smooth sailing (pun intended) from start to finish. Easy online sign up, good reminders, and tons of needed info was provided. We knew how to dress, how to prepare, and what to expect. The team they put together was so great. Our amazing Captain was really skilled, and you could tell she was all pro. The ride was smooth and we even got in some sailing in the lower winds. She managed some rolling waves like they were nothing and could not have felt safer. Our chef Kevin (we also learned is the company's Training Officer) did an unreal job. While we sailed, we enjoyed delicious cocktails, and a wonderful meal - tasty appetizers, really well cooked and season steak and fish, and a cheesecake treat to finish. The drink were flowing all trip long and it made this sunset dinner cruise feel like an elite party with our 45 new friends. The crew was also so great. Whether it was their charm, their attention to detail, or just their warmth, Noah, Caleb, and Timmy were top notch. They managed to do all their work, keep the ride steady, spot amazing marine life (we got frolicking dolphins AND a mama/baby whale sighting), keep us fed, run drinks, tell jokes, share stories about this lovely place they live. These guys have all the skills you need for this kind of engaging tour. And of course, the views. Now, this company didn't create this coastline - but they know exactly how to spotlight it. The views we had, the pics they took for us (the guys are pro photographers in my opinion), and the special scenes they shared with us - well, we will never forget them. So grateful for this team and how they all played a role in such a special trip event for us. Thanks!

I can't recommend this company and experience enough, my wife and I were able to get a last minute booking with them after another excursion was cancelled. We went with the Na Pali Raft Snorkel Tour, our guides Captain Jacob and first mate Logan were incredible from start to finish. They were extremely knowledgeable about the local Hawaiian history and all that the coast had to offer. Keep in mind the raft version of the tour is physically demanding so be wary of that but it is totally worth it. We got to swim in the open ocean off the coast, they took us inside a few of the caves (only available depending on conditions), the provided snacks and refreshments. This was hands down one of the best experiences I've ever had in my life, you will not regret it.

My wife and our 2 kids (10yr and 12yr) did the Na Pali Raft Day Expedition and it did not disappoint! Big shout out to Captain Robert, Zaylen and Deeds... they were a phenomenal crew! Deed's in particular took my daughter under her wing when she was a little nervous in the beginning and made her feel right at home on the boat! The raft expedition is no joke...it was a real adventure! The Na Pali coastline was absolutely breathtaking and we are so happy we got to enjoy it on a fun raft! The lunch break was fantastic, including great food and a fun walking tour. Conditions dictated that we weren't able to do snorkel, but the crew made up for it with other activities. The energy and the vibe of the crew really made this an epic adventure. The cruise out of the harbor and into the open ocean with music pumping set the tone for what we were in for...and we knew we were in for a fun day!

We did the six hour tour to the Na pali coast with Captain Keanu and first mate Devon. This trip exceeded my expectations! I am typically a very anxious and risk-averse person, and I felt incredibly safe on this raft, even with the fast speed of the boat and navigation of the waves. The captain and first mate gave incredible historical background and had knowledge about the land, sea, and indigenous people. We were able to see dolphins, sea turtles, and they snorkeling was the perfect amount of time before our barbecue lunch! The short hike around Na pali State Park was wonderful after lunch before getting back on the boat. I absolutely recommend this to anyone who is up for adventure and beautiful views!

Going in May. Will the water be rough ? Any discounts for calling directly to book?

Aloha Donna... Thank you for your inquiry. Ocean conditions in May are generally quite favorable and continually improve as we move closer to the Summer Season. Regarding available discounts, we offer a 20% discount for all active and retired…

Is the ocean too choppy in early March for a Na Pali Coast sunset dinner cruise?

We went last March and yes, it was rough heading north, but once we turned around it was nice coming back and that's when we got to eat. There was one sick child on our trip. We used our behind the ear prescription pads for motion sickness and were…

Hi, never been on this type of cruise before. It's already pretty pricy but what would the appropriate tip be? I'm reading online that is expected?

For the meal and the experience, I think the price is reasonable. Three of us went on the cruise and we each tipped $20. Given the excellent steak dinner and the outstanding service we received, the staff definitely deserved their $60 tip from us.

    Do they have vegan food?

Yes they do. You have to order in advance though.

It's pretty windy on Kauai today and same for tomorrow around 20-22 mph. Has anyone sailed under these conditions or should we cancel for tomorrow?

Aloha Robert! Due to wind and ocean conditions we cancelled all of our 24ft rafting tours today.…

Is this cruise tour a pretty smooth sailing in the beginning of April and back friendly for individuals with a history of back problems?

Depends on the day and time of year. There can be large waves. The ride is not rough because you are traveling relatively slow. But it is bumpy. It's up and down over the waves.

Trying to choose between the 2 sunset sails along the Napoli coast! Is it worth the extra $30/person for the "star" sunset sail?

Possibly. We weren't made aware of it, when we booked our 'cruise', so we didn't know. However, it sounds more relaxing than the one we went on.

Is the evening sunset "romantic experience" at Captain Andy's OK for a family group that wants to sail in the evening? We are 6 adults and one 10 year old.?

I think it can go either way. I was there with my husband and in laws and was a lot of fun! But we saw a few couples having their moments. It was one of the best times we all had. Food was really good as well. But I'd recommend some sort of sea…

In the future is captain andy's raft tour going to be vegan friendly and provide an actual meal beyond lettuce in a tortilla?

I bet if you said something up front at check in they'd pack extra fruit and veggies.

Do the vouchers have to be printed and presented?

Hello!! No they don't. All you need is your confirmation number and Your I. D. :0) Have A Wonderful…

The playlist on board was spot on, setting the perfect vibe. I wish I could find it on Spotify! Despite the weather, the views were breathtaking, and getting a little drenched just added to the adventure. The food was delicious, especially the smoked pork, salad, and fresh fruit, and my husband loved the mai tais. Even without the sunset, the whole experience was magical. Price was $250 per person and we booked a couple days before the tour date. (we went at the end of March - the weather was fantastic and not too hot, also not raining). Although it was pricey, I felt like it was worth the experience and highly recommend anyone do a tour, even if it's not with this company. We got back to shore around 7-7:30pm, so total time was 5 hours ish. Pros: - the Na Pali coast is BEAUTIFUL - the views were truly a once in a life time experience for me and I saw the fullest rainbow I've ever seen - The tour guide was super informative, we learned a lot about whales, and they also taught us a lot about certain mountains and waterfalls that we passed on the Na Pali Coast (like where Kauai kings were buried). - We stopped to watch whales multiple times and it was really cool! - The 3 staff working on board the ship were extremely helpful in answering questions, providing drinks, and instructing people from a safety perspective - Safety - I felt very well taken care of the whole time. It's a barefoot cruise but people can choose to keep their shoes on if they want. They provided bags for people feeling nauseous and gave good advice when people were feeling seasick. - Food provided - it's not fine dining or anything (chicken teriyaki, salad, etc) but it does beat having to pack your own food or go hungry around dinner time. Also unlimited alcohol or nonalcoholic drinks. - The staff helped us take photos and there's a lot of great photo opportunities at the coast - Champagne toast at sunset, which was beautiful to watch out on the water - bathrooms available on board - My husband didn't feel like eating on board due to the motion sickness so they were kind enough to pack a to-go box for us! - Parking was easy and the meet up location was easy to find - we stood outside for most of the ride since it felt better than sitting inside, so we did get a bunch of sea-spray and got super wet from the 10 ft swells, but it felt really fun! Cons: - I think they need to put a huge disclaimer with statistics or something to show people how common it is for people to get seasick and vomit. I think maybe 5 people from our whole boat got really sick and either fell or vomited during the trip (can feel a little weird enjoying the beautiful view while someone smells like vomit next to you lol). They do tell you at the beginning that you can walk away and get a full refund after hearing the captain briefing during the meet up starting spot, but I don't think they really emphasize just how many people get sick. I personally felt fine but I felt really bad for people who had to gut through the five hour round trip feeling terrible. bring Dramamine!! This was definitely a highlight of my first time in Kauai, I wouldn't necessarily do it more than once due to the price, but it was a fantastic experience for the views!

Our captain was fantastic--he was fun, knowledgeable, and full of interesting information about the Nā Pali Coast. We never felt rushed, and they even stopped so everyone could take photos of the breathtaking scenery. We traveled with our 15-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter, and both had an amazing time. There were also several younger children on board, and the crew was wonderful with them as well. The boat was clean, spacious, and easy to move around, which made the trip comfortable for everyone. The food was delicious, and the entire day exceeded our expectations. As if the stunning coastline wasn't enough, we were lucky enough to see two different pods of dolphins swimming alongside the boat--an unforgettable experience! The biggest compliment I can give? The next morning my 10-year-old daughter asked if we could book another trip because she loved it that much. If you're considering a Nā Pali Coast tour, don't hesitate--book with Blue Dolphin Charters. It was worth every penny, and the views are truly once-in-a-lifetime.

We passed by a Captain Andy's catamaran during the tour, and ours honestly looked better. Ours even had a second deck, while theirs didn't, which gave everyone more space to spread out and take pictures without feeling crowded. The four crew members were all helpful and friendly. The food was also surprisingly delicious and honestly, it was even better than the food we had at the luau we went to! Overall, it was an awesome experience, and we'd definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kauai.

I…read morewas scared to hike as I'm not physically fit for that and helicopter rides were a no for me. So I opted for a boat tour! I chose makana charters because of how detailed they were in their information as different tours tour the coast in different areas. With this tour, included lunch and snorkeling. What I didn't want was a fancy lunch because what I'm really there for is to see the Na Pali Coast and everything else was just an extra for me. The lunch was very simple which I like especially because it can get very nauseous. I wanted to do the snorkeling part, but I also wanted my husband to do it, but he's not a confident swimmer so I stayed with him and watched people snorkel which was totally fine. We did the early morning tour and it was beautiful! The weather was perfect! Our tour guides went around us as we were enjoying the way to the coast and asked us where we were from. They also showed us the forbidden island and told us some history of the island and how certain areas locals would camp but a permit would be needed. They also tried to get into caves as deep as they can go and also showed us where Mary J Blige recorded her music video for everything. We also saw some dolphins going and come back from the coast! The coast was just as magical and beautiful!

Some positives about this tour includes: free parking by their main stop, an emcee that was quite hilarious, a boat captain that made the boat ride at 15 knots super fun, and some history lessons along with the tour. So what was wrong? The area where we were snorkeling was quite bland. We only saw a few fish and didnt see a turtle until after we all got on the boat. After only about 30 min of snorkeling around I was bored (they give you an hour). At the beginning of the tour we were told that if you feel sick at anytime, to let them know and they'll have some remedies. Well...when I came back on the boat after snorkeling, I started feeling woozy. It was mainly because the boat was anchored and started swaying. I did take Dramamine an hour before the trip so that helped a little. I told one of the crew members how I was feeling and her suggestion was, "I would stand in the back so noone will see you get sick. Also, I wouldn't go in the bathroom because the enclosed space will make you feel worse." Not the remedies I was expecting. haha. I did not take her advice. Instead I stayed standing in the front and looked at the horizon as everyone else was enjoying their sandwiches and chips. The captain, at least, gave me a little piece of mind by telling me he'll have us back on shore in 50 minutes. So I stood there, feeling like I was on a speed boat, jumping with every big wave, wind blowing my hair and salty water on my face. Surprisingly, I felt better after that ride back. But I felt a whole lot better being on land.

One crew member made a native woven hat and bowl and gave them away. Nice. We were closer than 30 yards from the whale and the calf and escort. By federal law 100 yards. The captain was good at sea. Cons: Smallest Catamaran in the harbor. Smallest rv toilet I ever saw, behind a tarp. No cushions on fiberglass seats for five plus hours. The picnic lunch was minimal but adaquate. Plenty of mixed sodas. Compared to the other catamarans, ours looked home made. Take your Dramamine. You ll need it.

My wife and I have talked several times since the tour about what an incredible job Ren did navigating the inflatable raft through the caves and along the coastline. DRAMAMINE, y'all…read more You're choosing to do the Na'Pali coast from the North Shore, which means smaller boats, and choppier waves. I took one Dramamine, the night before. Then another, an hour before our departure. AND THE BOAT RIDE WAS GREAT. I was all smiles and adventure and breathing -in the ocean air and wind! Unlike, a few folks, who were NOT doing so well. (One or two barfed over the side, but thankfully I didn't notice. Know how your body handles boats and waves. Don't do tours like this, without proper prep. It will NOT be fun if you underestimate it.) Check-In staff was super friendly, and personal. They remembered me from my original email. Sweet. Parking was easy. Shuttles team was super friendly. The strangers we rode with, all turned out to be cool. 2 boats go out (mini-catamarans, with cover from the sun). They expertly traverse the waves, and cliffs, and the caves, giving you some amazing first-hand visuals and photos. But yeah, that boat will be a rockin', during those up-close cave moments. Spoiler: You probably won't see whales, unless you're there before May. But we DID see a cute pod of Dolphins, who cozy'd up to our boat for a while. Our boat had Casey and Spencer. They were wise beyond their years, in all things Kauai. Funny and friendly. Spencer navigated the heck out of those waves, while Casey handled the nauseous passengers with MOTHERLY CARE. Spencer was 50/50 on allowing us to snorkel, based on conditions and a previous scare, a few weeks prior. But he ultimately made the call to GET IN THE WATER. He wisely kept us on a leash (not literally), whistling at swimmers when they got too close to a reef (with waves that could wash you onto the reef). It was fun and chill. Saw a HUGE, MASSIVE KING DADDY SEA TURTLE. He did not enjoy us as much as we enjoyed him and he bounced. Followed by a JR. Turtle, who stuck around a bit longer. Tons of fish. Spencer & Casey gave us good food and hike recommendations, and everyone treated us like friends / family. Highly recommend this team if you're going out. And you already know I highly recommend some Dramamine.

The captain on the boat was heard telling the other one that he was told this happened the previous day but they got it working. Since this was a known issue they should have cancelled it or fixed the problem before we wasted our time. We could have planned another activity instead of just wasting the day.
