Hi, I'm sharing my experience on the Lucky Lady catamaran tour booked through the Marriott Beach Club concierge on Kauai--and unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing and honestly felt unsafe. The weather conditions were very rough, with high waves making the ride intense and uncomfortable. Nearly everyone on board was getting sick , including many adults and small children who were crying and clearly distressed. Passengers were completely soaked from the constant spray and rough seas. Although the captain and Sea crew tried to keep the passengers calm. This didn't feel like a safe or enjoyable excursion, especially for families. There should have been better judgment regarding the weather conditions before proceeding with the tour. I would strongly recommend reconsidering booking this excursion in questionable weather, as this experience was far from what we expected.

I can't say enough about Kaua'i Sea Tours. In January 2026 in Kauai the weather is in gods hands. This captain was so amazing as well as every single deck hand. ALL of them were a 10/10. They assisted us "older folks" walking around the boat, were so informative, served an amazing lunch and breakfast. It was a bit choppy but nothing anyone couldn't handle. We saw dolphins, turtles and YES humpbacks were active and plentiful! We did have to reroute due to weather but to be 100% honest I would have not traded that trip experience for anything. Just be in the moment or you might not get the whale breaching and worse miss hearing the magical sound of the blow hole spray. I will be in awe for quite some time. The guests were snorkeling with turtles, all having just the time of their lives Do not miss this trip with the amazing crew who were absolutely huge in making sure we were well taken care of. We appreciate each and every one of you.

Capt Kauai, Capt Dawn, Lauren and Liz are FANTASTIC! Super high energy, caring, knowledgeable, and deeply dedicated to making sure we had a great time. My husband and I spent most of the catamaran trip on the bow pulpit while other guests were hiding from the rain and rough seas inside. We had a BLAST riding the swells, and the crew knew us by name making it extra special. The views of the Na Pali Coast were unforgettable, and the crew offered numerous times to take photos for us. We saw dolphins, stopped for a few pods of whales (but no "whale-waiting" haha) and had some super close-up views of majestic Hawaiian landmarks. Capt Kauai told tons of stories - legends and "science" - and entertained us with humor and acrobatics. This was one of the highlights of our trip despite the snorkeling not being the best (but I did see a seal!). My husband had plenty to eat and he eats quite a bit. I didn't eat since boats and food don't sit well with my stomach. The pep talk Capt Kauai gave at the beginning about not getting seasick made all the difference for me! Drinks were served as well, which I'm sure would have been more appreciated on a warm, summer, calm-seas kind of day. I don't think anyone was drinking the day we went. Again, so impressed by the crew who cared so well for all the people who were seasick that day. I couldn't believe how many people didn't handle the waves well. We were there in the winter so we kind of knew what to expect. So glad we did it anyway! Thanks again to Capt Kauai and crew! I highly recommend them. Seriously, they were the best!

It was a beautiful day and a nice power catamaran boat with nice size bathrooms. We booked through the hotel concierge. Departed at 8 am we had a nice breeze and sunny skies, as soon as we cleared the Harbor they found a spot for the snorkeling. I thought it was supposed to be on the Na Pali coast, and that was a big disappointment . They supplied the snorkel but no fins or towels like the one we had previously gone on in Kailua-Kona where they also supplied reef friendly sunscreen. The food was skimpy, breakfast being store bought muffins, pastries sliced into 1 inch sections, spam and tofu sushi--only 1 piece and fresh fruit. My husband was behind me and picked a muffin and pastry and put it on his plate but the staff member told my husband he could only have one or the other and had him put the muffin back. What!! Lunch was steamed rice, salad, and teriyaki chicken which was good but over the watchful eye I only took 1 piece for fear of being humiliated. Trip was nice and scenery was beautiful, the captain that was telling you the story was really good when you could hear it, but the sound system was very bad and we couldn't hear most of it. We went on the Body Glove at Kailua Kona and they know how to do it right I would recommend them going over there taking a ride to see how it's done .........this one was $80 per person more as well... Would I go again?....no would I recommend this one ? Maybe, but I would look at the other tours first. Erin was the best thing on the trip! She was watchful and helping people get around on the boat, quick with helping people drink wise as well as taking photos. The captain Greg was also quick to slow down for us to do some whale watching which we enjoyed quite a bit. There was another guy that was very nice and helpful but the food guy was loud and overbearing.

We had a magnificent time out on the water with these guys! The trip out to the Na Pali Coast was both safe and fun! We had a chance to marvel at the coast, sail with dolphins, snorkel (saw a reef shark), and enjoyed dinner and the sunset. It was just a fantastic day on the water. They're great with kids too! Everyone was able to fit the available snorkel gear and the boat moored long enough to really enjoy the water and not feel rushed. They even had a safety keeping eyes out for sharks and rip tides.

Captain Kauai and his crew were phenomenal. They provided us with the best Napali Coast boat tour hands-down! Been on several and Captain Kauai with Kauai Sea Tours is in an entirely different league. Try them. You'll never go back to another. Breaching whales, dolphins, and turtles. Checked every box.

Our adventure aboard the Lady Kailani with Captain Dawn at the helm was nothing short of legendary. Picture this: a crew so talented they could probably juggle flaming torches while serving cocktails, and views so stunning they made us question why we ever spent time indoors. Dinner was incredible, though I'm still convinced the crew has secret ninja training--balancing trays of drinks and food on a moving boat without spilling a drop? Witchcraft, I tell you. Josh deserves a medal for gracefully helping people navigate the boat without anyone doing an unplanned cannonball into the ocean. Bonus points for the whale facts--seriously, I now know more about whale migration than I do about my own family tree. Pro tip: Bring cash for your healthy tip for a job well done and pop a Dramamine before boarding unless you want to spend the trip bonding with a bucket. All in all, 10/10 would set sail again--just maybe with a side of ginger ale next time!

From start to finish both Zach and Hailey kept the passengers involved on the trip with great music and some Kauai history. Our trip was the first one out after the Tsunami yesterday. Waters were choppy but Zach was a pro at the wheel. This is not an excursion for the sea sick. This is EXTREME! A bit sore from the bumps but totally worth it! Beautiful scenery from start to finish. The early wake up was completely worth every minute!

Captain Evan with his crew of Lauren, Mica, and Colton (I really hope we got the names correct) did a fantastic job. The direction of the trip had to be changed due to rough waters but the visuals that we got were amazing. The food and drinks were plentiful; we truly wanted for nothing. We saw whales, dolphins, and seal. We would definitely do this cruise again. Quite a highlight for our Kauai adventure.

Outstanding experience! You'll see views like no where else in the world. It's Hawaii's own Grand Canyon! Bring your own food is recommended, the food options were somewhat meh. The experience made it irrelevant. Pic included!

Kauai Sea Tours was absolutely incredible and easily one of the highlights of our trip. We usually go with another boat tour company, but decided to try this one--and we're so glad we did. The service was noticeably better, and the vegan options were far superior. We did the sunset boat tour, and it somehow just kept getting better. We saw a ton of whales, and the trip even ran a little longer because the captain made sure we stayed out to catch as many sightings as possible. That alone says everything about how much they care about the experience--not rushing, just pure magic. Huge shoutout to Evan, our captain--very cool, super chill, genuinely funny, and clearly knows these waters inside and out. His relaxed vibe and willingness to keep us out longer made the whole trip feel extra special. And Erin was amazing--constantly checking in, making sure we had everything we needed, and bringing the kindest, most attentive energy. She truly made everyone feel cared for. The food was also a big win. The Mexican dinner spread had lots of thoughtful vegan options, including tofu, and everything was delicious--no sad vegan meals here. Whales, sunset, incredible crew, better service, and genuinely great vegan food. This will absolutely be our go-to tour from now on. Could not recommend it more.

Cruising along the Napali coast. We even saw 5 sets of whales breaching along our tour.

Which of the tour/boat options are best for toddlers and which would you be least likely to get seasick?

Mother Nature is in charge of the wind, waves, and weather. If you are prone to sea sickness, I would not recommend a catamaran tour of the Na Pali Coast. Try a calmer area like Waikiki off Oahu.

Does this tour have a beach landing on the Napali coast? How long do you get to stay on the beach? Which Napali Coast boat tour lands on the beach and lets you walk around on the beach + snorkel?

The catamaran does not but the zodiac boat tour does

The food was delicious, especially the smoked pork, salad, and fresh fruit, and my husband loved the mai tais. Even without the sunset, the whole experience was magical. IMPORTANT NOTE: we all ended up getting sea sick (there was 5 of us), but this was not the fault of the crew at all--we learned we are all just prone to sea sickness. Especially as you near the Napali coast, it is very bumpy. Note that you will be on the boat for around 5 hours--if you are prone to motion sickness at all, we would not recommend this. It inevitably gets bumpy and for five hours, it is a lot to handle for anyone who is not an experienced with boats/sailing. ***Also note: this is not mainly a snorkeling excursion. We signed up thinking the focus would be snorkeling, but we went to a sub-par snorkeling spot (barely saw any fish) for around 45 minutes than were back on the boat for the rest of the time. This excursion is mainly about being on the boat and seeing the Napali Coast, which is very beautiful. However, overall, if you are looking for a snorkeling outing or are prone to seasickness, I would pass on this. You can see the Napali via helicopter, which may be the better option. The ride is so bumpy near the coast that it is hard to enjoy the beauty. This outing is quite expensive so we just want people to be aware of the drawbacks ahead of booking. Again, Capt Andy's is WONDERFUL and were so kind and entertaining the whole day, it is just quite a long time to be on the boat if you're not accustomed to it. If you're looking for a boating excursion, want to see the Napali Coast by boat, and don't get sea sick at all, Capt Andy's is the way to go.

The lunch break was fantastic, including great food and a fun walking tour. Conditions dictated that we weren't able to do snorkel, but the crew made up for it with other activities. The energy and the vibe of the crew really made this an epic adventure. Some things to be aware of: This cruise is on a catamaran; some of our party were expecting a small cruise ship that would have been a smoother ride. Waves are bumpy, and the windier parts of the trip resembled a mild roller coaster--if that's not your thing or you know you can experience some motion sickness, please factor that into your decision to book a trip. That being said, one person in our party experienced some light motion sickness and was really well cared for by the crew. We really appreciated their kindness and support. If you have sturdy sea legs and an adventurous spirit, I'd highly recommend this excursion. The views of Kauai from the ocean are worth it alone, but the information from the captain and crew about the island and its culture are also super valuable. The whole experience also felt very safe; the cruise will not go to areas with high wind/surf, and on our trip the captain explained why he was turning out of the wind/waves when he made that decision.

We went on the Na Pali Adventure tour, and the experience was just amazing from start to finish…read more The tour involved Zodiac rafts that moved at high speed across the ocean on the way to the Na Pali Coast. Our pilot Kelsey was super fun as a host, and performed many thrilling moves with the raft. He also put on lots of great music to make the ride even more fun. The tour gave us excellent views of the cliffs at Na Pali, as well as close ups of some of the sea caves. We also stopped for some snorkeling and snacks at one point. Another bonus was coming across many groups of dolphins during our ride, as well as several whales. All in all, I highly recommend Blue Ocean for a fun and thrilling Na Pali Coast tour.

My husband and I had the adventure of a lifetime on our zodiac tour yesterday! Captain Kelci and…read morecrew mate Connor were quite the duo - from the "karaoke" music, to the stellar cave tours, to the dolphins, endangered Hawaiian seals, and sea turtle sightings, to the photo backdrops - they truly thought of everything and ensured we had plenty of time to take photos and videos. We were blessed with the most amazing weather and the ocean was fairly calm as well, so that definitely contributed to an amazing time! Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a good time! This is NOT for the faint of heart - or anyone who has a hard time gripping things. We are definitely sore today and we are both early 30s and active. They said we didn't have to gril super hard, but I couldn't help holding on to the raft for dear life the entire time

DRAMAMINE, y'all…read more You're choosing to do the Na'Pali coast from the North Shore, which means smaller boats, and choppier waves. I took one Dramamine, the night before. Then another, an hour before our departure. AND THE BOAT RIDE WAS GREAT. I was all smiles and adventure and breathing -in the ocean air and wind! Unlike, a few folks, who were NOT doing so well. (One or two barfed over the side, but thankfully I didn't notice. Know how your body handles boats and waves. Don't do tours like this, without proper prep. It will NOT be fun if you underestimate it.) Check-In staff was super friendly, and personal. They remembered me from my original email. Sweet. Parking was easy. Shuttles team was super friendly. The strangers we rode with, all turned out to be cool. 2 boats go out (mini-catamarans, with cover from the sun). They expertly traverse the waves, and cliffs, and the caves, giving you some amazing first-hand visuals and photos. But yeah, that boat will be a rockin', during those up-close cave moments. Spoiler: You probably won't see whales, unless you're there before May. But we DID see a cute pod of Dolphins, who cozy'd up to our boat for a while. Our boat had Casey and Spencer. They were wise beyond their years, in all things Kauai. Funny and friendly. Spencer navigated the heck out of those waves, while Casey handled the nauseous passengers with MOTHERLY CARE. Spencer was 50/50 on allowing us to snorkel, based on conditions and a previous scare, a few weeks prior. But he ultimately made the call to GET IN THE WATER. He wisely kept us on a leash (not literally), whistling at swimmers when they got too close to a reef (with waves that could wash you onto the reef). It was fun and chill. Saw a HUGE, MASSIVE KING DADDY SEA TURTLE. He did not enjoy us as much as we enjoyed him and he bounced. Followed by a JR. Turtle, who stuck around a bit longer. Tons of fish. Spencer & Casey gave us good food and hike recommendations, and everyone treated us like friends / family. Highly recommend this team if you're going out. And you already know I highly recommend some Dramamine.

After taking it myself now, I can see why! We met Captain Greg Baptiste and copilot Caleb at Kiki'aola Small Boat Harbor at 8:45 and ended about 2:45. We were supposed to end at 2:30 but got delayed by kayakers who caused boat traffic. A 6th generation Kaua'i kama'aina, Captain Greg was extremely experienced, confident, and relaxed so we felt very safe with him at the helm, even when the boat was slapping the waters and we felt like we were on a mechanical bull ride. Luckily I didn't get seasick, so it felt a like a real life Disney ride to me. However, I don't recommend this for those who get queasy. His first mate, Caleb, took turns with him at the wheel and dove in to achor us. Throughout the tour Greg educated us with fascinating facts and tales about the geography, history, and lore of the breathtaking beautiful Na Pali Coast. One of the lessons from the legend of Na Keiki a ono iwi that resonated with me was 1.Listen to your elders 2. Do not Steal 3. You are responsible for your children's actions. (Teachers, gotta love this one!!) Highlights were the open ceiling cave and iconic "Cathedral " cliffs. We stopped for about an hour or so of beautiful clear snorkeling where we got to see turtles in addition to some beautiful and large fish. They use excellent Mantis brand snorkeling gear which I really liked and will fit you for fins. After that we were very ready for lunch! They normally cater sandwiches but something happened so we assembled our own with fixings from Costco which tasted extra good at sea! The only suggestion I would have for this business is to do a better job of briefing folks about safety and how to treat the reef. Some kids in our group were sitting and stepping on the coral. Mahalo nui Capt. Greg and Crew for an incredible day trip!! Will definitely recommend this to everyone I know!
