It's been many years since I've eaten at Fatburger, so figured I'd try it out with a co worker. I had the 1000 island burger added onion and skinny fries. Overall the burger was decent and the fries were hot. Ketchup and condiments were by the soda machine in the center of the location. They had plenty of seating which is probably good for lunch rush. We went rather early so I didn't get any lines but it did get busier the longer we were there. Service was quick, restaurant was clean. Would recommend. read more

The food was good but not the best service. There was no soap in the bathroom and when I asked them to add some so I could wash my hands, they said yes then never did. I stood there staring and finally asked for their hand sanitizer, which I got, and they still didn't refill the soap. Who wants to eat at a place when they can't wash their hands? The Last Great Hamburger Stand. Great burgers and shakes. They carry Pepsi products at the soda fountain, a big plus in my book (I might have a small addiction to Mountain Dew ). Fries come skinny or fat. Shakes are made with ice cream, or they have a vegan option (not how that works). They have chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, banana, and Oreo for flavors. Kids meals are available. Burgers can be customized to a point; a list of toppings are listed on menu or you can get it with everything (called, "the works"). Service is great! If you want to watch them cook up your order, their grill is visible from the counter. Dine-in orders are brought to the table. I was looking for a Whatsaburger, obviously I'm from out of state when I stumbled on this place. I ordered a double Fatburger, home made onion rings and a Maui-banana shake. The burger was great! Big juicy patties and a good flavor. Onion ring I'm on the fence in they're really home made or not. Regardless they were good. The shake was excellent less the canned whipped cream which Isla a deal killer for me. Will I return, absolutely. If you're craving a burger this is an excellent choice! The only reason I'm giving this a 4 star is because the prices are brutal. This may be as to why they don't have many customers the times that I have visited. Fat burger à la carts everything and this wouldn't be so bad if the burger itself wasn't the price of a traditional take-out meal by itself... by the time you want to add a drink it would be better to drink water at this point. Don't event think about taking the whole family if you have a large family... this would not be the place for a budget friendly eating out for the family kind of place. The burgers are made fresh to order as well as the fries and it's the topping relish and mayo that makes this burger snap. This was my first time trying Fatburger and it was pretty good! Inside was clean and gives a "retro" diner vibe. There are plenty of indoor seating options. The person who helped me was nice, patient and knowledgeable about dietary restrictions. While waiting for your order you can look at some pictures on the wall of people who completed a challenge. I ordered the Impossible burger, fries and a vegan milk shake (mixed the chocolate and banana flavors together- yuum!!). Fries and shakes seem to come in one size. The fries were nothing out of the ordinary and the bruger tasted good. For what it is this burger place is a bit pricey. The Vegan shake was 10.99 at the time of writing this review and the Impossible burger was around the same price. If you want to add- on things it's an additional .50 per topping. I feel like the price doesn't really match the quantity and tase of the food compared to other burger places of the same ballpark. But, if you want to try something new then this is a place that you may want to give a go if you're in the mood for burgers and fries. read more

If this place didn't do 2 of these things it would get 5 stars. #1: Lack of locations. I get that Fatburger is supposed to be spread out but this is too far. They only have one location in all of San Diego county, and barely any in LA. #2: The Area The area this Fatburger is located in is not a good one. There is homeless people everywhere, you can hear people drifting their cars from inside the building, overall for the one location in San Diego county, it's not the best area. The one in Lake Tahoe is way better. #3: The food The food saves this place, these burgers are to die for! They are very delicious, I can tell it's not frozen. The fries are good too! OK, here's my Fatburger story. Yesterday was my birthday. My wife's in the hospital and I'm dealing with everything. I didn't get a chance to eat and wanted a good solid burger, but did not want to move my butt. My first choice didn't deliver, so my kids said Fatburger would be good. I agreed. Wish I hadn't. On my first bite, I was greeted with paper! The paper wrapper from the cheese slices was left on. GROSS!!! That completely ruined my meal. I called them and the recording said they close at 8 and to call back tomorrow. This was at 7:58. Yes, just about 8, but when I ran a business, I closed things up AFTER closing hours, not before. So, I called back today. After explaining that I found paper inside the sandwich they prepared, the person I spoke with told me to contact the delivery company for a refund. What? I asked again. "I said there was paper in the sandwich you guys made. And I have to contact the delivery company?". And she confirmed that. I asked don't you care about the fact that your sandwich was made bad? I didn't wait for an answer. I hung up at that point. The level that customer service has sunk to keeps hitting new lows. And do people even care about their products any more? read more

Back in college, Fatburger used to be one of our go-too places to pig out. With steak fries (my preferred form of potato) on the side and the option to put bacon, cheese, chili and a fried egg on a full pound hamburger, it surely set the stage for what will be multiple heart surgeries down the line. Until now, I hadn't been to a Fatburger in well over a decade. And upon coming back, this place is just about as good as I remember. In my old age, I forwent the Double Kingburger (two half-pound patties) and stuck with the much smaller, regular Fatburger (quarter pound patty), still choosing to have bacon, cheese, and a fried egg on top of it. With everything on it, the salt from the pickles and other condiments blended into everything well, and the yolk breaking over it all gave the whole of it a nice and smooth finish. Plus, those thick and filling steak fries. Definitely not as good as Eureka or even a simple burger from Habit, but I would still prefer to get a Fatburger over the bulk of diner and fast food restaurants. If this were closer, I would probably swing by to have one a third of the times I usually go out a grab a hamburger somewhere. read more

We came here for lunch and this was my first time having it. For starters it was a really cool setup for the location. We came in and everyone was masked up and we were able to pick a table in the corner that was further from anyone. I came in not knowing what I wanted but after looking at the menus the sizes said it all. I decided to go with the large which is a 1/2 pound burger with onion, lettuce, pickles, cheese and thousand island sauce with the fat fries.(They have two sets of fries; the skinny fries and the fat fries. The fat fries are steak fries) The food was cooked to order and came out fairly quickly. The food was very good and has been the best burger that I've had since I have been in California. It was actually better than the in and out burger I had a few days ago. Yooooo this place was bomb!! I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was seasoned so well, and the piece of chicken was a good size. Very tasty. My husband got the original burger and some onion rings. Everything tasted fresh. The lady who took our order was kind and since it was slow, our food came our right away. NOTE THIS REVIEW IS DURING THE PANDEMIC I went in to Fatburger as I was waiting for my phone at the Sprint store next door. Upon entering, I notice they were practicing social distancing, but one of the workers did not have gloves on. She is the "cashier", she took my order, took my card, handed my card back to me, with no glove. At first I thought it was strange b/c she didn't wash her hands before or after, but I ignored it as I had hand sanitizer in my bag. But as I continued to watch her, she bagged my fries in the french fry packet and put them in my bag w/ the burger. She then folded the bag down and handed it to me. I asked her why she wasn't wearing gloves if she was handling food and her response was, I don't have to, I am a cashier. I told her I saw you handle my fries and bag w/ my food. She said "I only touched the paper pouch I put the fries in", plus "I am a cashier". Maybe I am wrong but anyone handling food should be wearing gloves during this Pandemic. As old as the shopping center from where it leases from, this Fatburger hasn't changed one bit...literally. Almost begrudgingly, the Escondido Fatburger has started to sell the IMPOSSIBLE Burger. It's a burger patty made entirely from plants with the same texture and taste of a real meat burger. It does lack some of the savory bite of its greasy counterpart but it tasted like a normal burger to me. Now I probably wouldn't buy it again because it costs three bucks more than their beef equivalent (its selling for $10 each with cheese). But if I ever go vegetarian I would definitely order it again (Good Friday?). As for the regular burgers they are comparable to places like FIVE GUYS. It's pretty good, but probably more of a change-of-place option. - While other Fatburgers in the chain have LED menu boards and have even incorporated chicken wings into their franchise this location stays in the dark ages. - The tiny ants on the wall ( unclean wall) is an easy fix, but this place isn't the cleanest and it's reluctant to change. A decent burger joint that serves large burgers. I like how you can upscale the burger size to your appetite. They offer an xxl or xxxl burger and you get picture on the wall. I was surprised at the different types of burger they offer like turkey. It had been awhile since I last ate at one so I decided to stop in here and enjoy a 1/2 pound burger. I felt the the burger was a little over done. The bun was good. Overall, the burger was well executed but could a little more seasoning. The fries were good. A friend and I decided to have a late lunch/early dinner at Fat Burger in Escondido. This was Sunday Jan 5, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. My order was for the King deal, which is a burger, fries and a drink. The portion of fries is huge so we could split the fries and my friend ordered a burger and drink. When my order came up when I took the first bite, I initially thought it was pretty tasty. But after the burger settled into the bun with the dressings it turned out to be a slimy disgusting mess. It was so saturated with gooey condiments and wet I couldn't eat it. I told the front end person Hilda about the problem. She looked like a deer in the headlights and couldn't offer any explanation or help. And then...the cook/chef retorted that the burger was normal and was "grease" from the burger that created the problem I was having. I told him it most certainly was not grease it was watery ingredients and he insisted it was just what to expect. He never offered to make me a fresh burger. The following day, Monday, I called and spoke to a manger. She offered no apology but said she'd reverse, credit back my card. After checking my statement she credited back the cost of the burger only. I've tried calling the corporate offices in Los Angeles, but get voicemail menu and no living person. I do not recommend you have your burger meal at Fatburger. It's wrong on too many levels. Fat Burger fails in customer service and their burger is sub-par. Very disappointing. read more
