Walked around the foodcourt and laid my eyes on this place! One bite into the sub and I just loved it. One negative is how slow it took to get it. There was definitely a line with at least 5 people ahead of me.

I've avoided this place for years, but a free sample sold me. While waiting in the endless Panda Express line I was able to sample one of their California Philly sandwiches. It was pretty good, so I bailed on the Panda Express line and went over to Charley's. After reviewing their menu I chose their chicken Philly. Pretty big for a large which was shared with another person. It was good but their provolone cheese was very salty. The fries were really good. Surprisingly, this was a good change of pace. You wont feel good about yourself afterwards, but it at least it was good going down. - Charley's is one of the few non-Asian restaurants in the North County Westfield food court

Charley's grilled subs is a welcomes sight to the North County Mall. I used to frequent The Great Steak Escape when they had a spot in the food court years ago and was saddened when they closed down. Charley's is a pretty big chain as I've seen them at several other malls. Their cheesesteaks are pretty decent although a little on the pricey side. Not as good as a place like Philly Franks but its good for being at the mall. I don't claim to be a Philly experts although I've tried the big four in Philly (Geno's, Pat's, Jim's, and Tony Luke's). This doesn't compare to those but if you're looking for a good meal at the mall, I'd recommend this spot. Fills you up.

Slurp embraces everything awesome about Thai food with none of the extraneous western influences that simply detract from the food. They serve the tastiest food Thailand has to offer, street food, and they do it fast with a smile as if you were on a street corner in Bangkok. From pad kra pow to crab omelette, pretty much everything on the menu is some sort of fusion / street food goodie that is as close to real Thai food as it gets (stateside at least). Nevermind it's in the food court of a mall. Ignore the broccoli haired Gen Alpha's wandering aimlessly around. This place will transport you to the heart of the Thai street food scene by the first bite. And in true street food fashion, if you want something custom, just ask. The cooks are Thai and after a little translation (from the person at the register) they deliver made-to-order perfection. And if you want a real taste of Thailand make sure you order spicy level 10 ("fire-in-the-bunghole") but if you want the real Thai spice level ask for 20. Slurp redefines "mall food" to the extent that "I going to the mall" means I'm coming home with authentic Thai food rather than Hello Kitty artifacts from Miniso.

I did expect food to take a long time but I think the leftover wok burners when this was a Mongolian bbq location made it come out quickly. The food itself was pretty good but pricey. There was a paper price change on the menu and at the new price of $13 was a bit steep for the crab Rangoon roll.

This was my first and last time I'm ever going to rent a stall at the Escondido World Market Place…read moreto sell my used items. I was met but a kind security guard who was able to help direct me to the office. It was easy to rent at the office, easy to find the rental spot (which was well marked and well maintained), easy to setup and easy to sell at 2:30 pm. After 5 hours I sold most of my items and was ready to leave the Market Place which was around 7:30 pm. There were many shoppers and families walking and looking around, up and down the aisles. This was a great experience up to this point. Then my difficulties escalated. So, after packing up (took me only 5 minutes) I proceeded to drive ever so slowly to the exit. When I came near the exit, there was a show with dancers right in the middle of the road and a crowd assembled around them watching the show, which blocked my way out. I was greatly perplexed and confused. A security personnel (with a face mask) saw me attempting to leave and all he did was wave at me to say "no" and walked away. I felt embarrassed. He did not approach me to give me any directions. So, I carefully reversed back seeing that the street was not passable and to wait out the crowds. In the meantime, I greatly enjoyed a delicious meal at Mariscos El Flako of 3 birria street tacos. It was so good! I would definitely go back for that!!! So, I waited another hour to see if the crowds would thin out. The escondidowm.com website indicated that Fridays hours were 2:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Don't trust the website. It needs updating (per office staff). On my second attempt to exit, the streets were still very busy and precarious to get to the Exit. However, a very nice couple helped me to navigate through the streets and people and to help clear the way to the exit. I truly appreciated their kindness. It was very harrowing to drive through. I did eventually get to the exit. There, I was stopped by the kind security guard who helped me at 2:30 pm and he informed me that the sellers are not allowed to leave the Market Place until 10:00 pm, because it is too dangerous for vehicles and people. I emphatically told him that I was not informed by the office personnel or in writing about this curfew. If I was informed, I wouldn't be trying to leave at 8:30 pm. He started to suggest that I return back to by rental spot, but, after looking at the crowds he said that would be very difficult and I agreed with him. He gave me a very compassionate look of I understand your position. The other security guard at the gate (the one who only waved and walked away earlier) gestured "no" again and refused to open the gate. But, the first security guard explained that this was my first time here, only then did the gate guard reluctantly open the gate and emphasized and gestured to me that "Friday's is 10:00 pm" as I drove out the gate. The embarrassment of the ordeal could have been prevented at my first attempt if that security guard came up to me, obviously confused and inform me about the requirement of 10:00 pm. Or better yet, something clearly in writing about the requirement to stay until 10:00 pm of which I would have gladly complied. I would have been able to eat more street tacos at Mariscos El Flako!!! The vendors are very kind and hard working people. I admire their willingness to work and to sacrifice their time to make a living. And they are always smiling. Great Market Place with many various items, well displayed, good entertainment and wholesome environment for every one of all ages. Authentic Mexican services, foods and products. Love the smell of the grills and the leather boots.
