A review of Farmer Boys is long overdue. This Farmer Boys location has become a takeout go-to for me. It's the killer combo of their app & the drive-thru that makes the whole process such a breeze. The order is usually their Farmer's Chopped Cobb™ Salad. Place the order on the app. It's ready as soon as 15 minutes. Go to the drive-thru to pick it up. No need to even get out of the car. It has always been service with a smile at the drive-thru window. Simple, no fuss. I'm not at all specifically a salad person. But they just get it right with their Farmer's Chopped Cobb™ Salad. For an impromptu weekday meal, it's also less guilt-inducing than many other takeout options. This review was long overdue, but it won't be long before I'm back here for more takeout. read more

My family had never been here before, except for my husband, who frequented Farmer Boys when he was younger. I have to say our experience from start to finish was terrific. The lady who took our order was great, the food came out quickly, and each person who delivered our food was delightful! I was a bit reluctant to come in because the surrounding area isn't that nice, but I'm happy we did. Our children enjoyed it more than IHOP and the food was great. Hands down one of our favorite places to eat here in Escondido. Their customer service is outstanding and all the employees are always friendly and welcoming and it's a huge reason we always stop by often. I come here 1-2 times a year maybe just to eat bfast at a different place. The food is good and big portions. The price is costly. They do not have coffee creamers (like Vanilla or any other flavor). Came in around 10:00 on a Saturday. Place was moderately busy but I was able to order quickly. Cashier was polite and worked quickly. The place is very clean but is a bit dark in the center. Think the posters on the windows block some light. Got my food in about 5 minutes. Cinnamon rolls were a bit dry but I think it's expected that you put lots of syrup on them. Still tasted good but it would be nice to have some syrup that doesn't have corn syrup/high fructose corn syrup as the first ingredient. Eggs were good, no seasoning but table was stocked with condiments so that was no problem. Sausage was great, not too greasy like it gets at some places. Orange juice was good as well, didn't taste artificial. A bit expensive price wise, but that's just the state of fast food. 7/10 I enjoyed it. This place is fantastic!!!. My go-to for a burger, but they have a stellar breakfast selection as well. I don't know if I've seen them listed for "best burger" but they should be. I've eaten in, used the drive through, and their website. Every time the order is perfect (down to the number of napkins requested) and served with a smile. The inside is always clean and the food is cooked to order and fresh (crisp lettuce/juicy tomato). Wish there were more Farmer's Boy in the areas. I love their cobb salad. It's full of good quality proteins. The chicken aren't like your usual fast food place chicken. The pieces are big and tender. With fast food chicken salads, you'd be lucky if you get scraps, but this, you KNOW it's cut from a full chicken breast. The bacon is not bacon bits from a bottle. It's actual bacon. This is probably my favorite cobb salad, taking into consideration the quality and price. Can't find a better deal anywhere else. They also have a loyalty program you can earn points for free food. Always loved eating here. Their signature avocado bacon burger is divine. The staff is super friendly and helpful too. Greet us when we walked in , asked if we had any questions on the menu. The restaurant is clean and tidy. The self service drink area is spotless, offering Coke products. We were given complimentary blue cheese dressing for dipping. The dressing was obviously homemade. I am begging someone to bring a farmer boys location closer to San Diego. This is a hidden gem. My friend got some chili cheese fries because the employees sold us on them. An employee who stood out was Briana. I hope I spelled it right. We tried everything she recommended and it was all delicious. The zucchini fries are trending for a reason. They're big and fried to perfection. They're as big as your fork! Crispy and meant to be dipped into their ranch. The all natural burger was very yummy. Will I get canceled if I say it was better than 5 guys? Cause it was! Juicy burger, fresh toppings and I dipped this into their chipotle sauce and it was money. I would order this again. The chili cheese fries were amazing. Crispy fries, homemade chili, plenty of cheese. My weak friends said onion on the side (lame). The zucchini fries and chili cheese fries were the best I've ever had here. I don't know what kind of magic they're doing here, but I need this in my life weekly! The service was really great. Briana won us over. Unreasonable customer service at this location. I did not like the way they treated me today and felt like they were rude and unreasonable. Kind of felt like they were discriminating against me because I'm white. They were having construction on the street Infront of their restaurant and there were cones placed so you couldn't exit onto the street that the drive through leads you towards, so they placed some cones preventing you from exiting as well as in some of the last parking spaces where they thought there would be enough room for the drive through customers to turn around. I always park in the zone I did so I can see my vehicle, for this area is unsafe and I feel the need to keep my eyes on my vehicle while I eat. I tried to kindly explain it to their staff how I feel the need be a "security guard" of my vehicle and property in it while I eat by seeing it from my table, it's a personal preference. With the way they set the cones this day I picked the last spot that you could park beside WHERE THEY HAD PLACED THE CONES, yet they still asked me several times to move my vehicle after I had already parked, turned it off, with solar shield up, and was on an important work related phone call that they kept interrupting. I tried to explain that if they didn't want someone there, then why didn't they move their cones so it would prevent that? And I also let them know how I always park there so I can keep eyes on my vehicle from my table. As I was explaining this a giant monster truck towing a trailer was perfectly able to back out of their blocked off cone situation to exit out the only available route through the parking with construction situation perfectly fine keeping a safe distance from my vehicle. I have other reasons for not wanting to move my vehicle such as the need to cool my engine after running it for a long period and that's why I chose to sit down there to eat. Unfortunately they wouldn't serve me since I disagreed about moving my vehicle, and I do not plan to eat there any longer after this poor experience. I used to eat there a lot, but unfortunately I feel this is unreasonable and im unwilling to support them any longer. I felt like they were being rather passive aggressive, rude, and unreasonable. after the monster truck with trailer made it out, I'm sure most other vehicles would have made it out there after, without hitting my vehicle - that I was already keeping an eye on and willing to take the risk that they claimed was the reason for me to move amongst whatever weird energy they were projecting towards me. read more

My only complaint is that I didn't get the employees names! Everytime I come here they are so polite and professional! Today was our third time coming here (bf and I). The food doesn't do us wrong. It's pretty flavorful and the portions are great! I don't mind waiting a couple minutes for the food (drive thru). Is it just me, or is there a sniff of desperation in the efforts, over the past few decades, of Southern California burger restaurants - Tommy's, In-N-Out, Slater's 50/50, Fatburger, etc. - trying either to surpass or circumvent Five Guys' success? I'll include Farmer Boys in that list, if only because, according to their website, "...Farmer Boys® was founded in 1981 by five burger-loving brothers...", which sounds to me like Five Guys Burgers & Fries, without the stellar boardwalk fries. I mean, Farmer Boys' burgers are decent enough - superior to most of the region's faster food places, in fact, but they're just burgers, and the two times I ate at the place, I confronted a bothersome braggadocio in the restaurant's menu and promotional material, an aggressive insistence that I recognize the fact that they've won burger awards (seriously?), and, though it was unspoken, a sort of hint that I was lucky to be there. Again, they're just burgers. So would I dine at Farmer Boys again? Sure, why not? The food wasn't bad, and if there wasn't a Five Guys nearby and I was hungry for a burger and I had time, I'd drop in. Would I drive 45 minutes, from the middle of San Diego County to the nearest Farmer Boys, for a burger? Nope. Never again. I mean, c'mon... it's just a burger. read more

We have visited this place twice now. Both times the service is amazing, and they are constantly cleaning it make it nice. The parking lot is a little wonky, and it is a weird location. The food is great. We have got the bacon boy burger, the farmers burger, onion rings, zucchini, fried fish, and fries. The guacamole is very fresh, and chunky without a whole lot of other stuff shoved it, could use a little seasoning. The ranch the serve is amazing, what ever little we have leftover comes home to enjoy later. The onions are my favorite, they are big and crunchy. Everything fried has a nice firm texture not soggy or oilly like at most places. I did notice today they have a vanilla cream cold brew to try next time, and the best part is this is the first place I have seen who makes their milkshakes with "Thrifty's Ice Cream", so that will be added to our next try IYKYK, and the salads look massive could easily split with two others. read more

My boyfriend and I used to love coming to Farmer Boys and would visit several times a month. We live a good 30 minutes away and would make the drive since there is no closer location. We came to this location on 12/30/23 at 8:50 pm and the lobby was closed. There was a sign on the door that only drive through was open. We were pretty upset that we drove 30 minutes and couldn't dine in. We didn't want to do drive through since that would've been another 30 minute drive home and food would have been cold. We eneded up driving a few more miles to the E Valley Pkwy location. We ended up emailing corporate after the experience to file a complaint. The person we spoke with said the lobby at the location we visited is supposed to always be open until 10 pm so she is not sure why it was closed. She said she was going to forward our complaint and we would hear back from someone else. After no follow up for over a week, we called again on 1/12/24. After getting the run around and no resolution, my boyfriend called the location and spoke with the assistant manager Rocio Hernandez. She did say that sometimes they close the lobby an hour early but drive through is open. I get it you want to probably clean early and leave right at 10, but that is being lazy and is affecting your customers. She didn't understand that it was an inconvenience for us to drive 30 minutes away and the lobby be closed and we still had to drive another few more miles to another location. Clearly Farmer Boys and their management does not care. I will not be going to any more locations and will be taking my business elsewhere. *Funny how after visiting the other location, their sign on the wall says: "We never cut corners when it comes to treating folks right." read more
