So I was craving a burger cause I was starving at the time and saw this little hole in the wall place while driving around. Finally found some paid parking lot area and walked to Fatburger. We were literally greeted by a really nice gentleman behind the counter before I had two feet in. I was totally amazed by how friendly he was to us. Made us feel really comfortable there. I ordered the Fatburger meal and added American Cheese and Bacon to my burger and it came with Fat fries and a drink. It was $19.99 for the meal but adding stuff cost $2 each. My 2 friends and I sat at a booth in the front by the window so we can do people watching. The food didn't take long at all to come out delivered by the same nice man. He was very attentive and brought us napkins and sides of ranch for our fries. The food was so delicious and the fries were slightly bigger than normal fries, which was nice. The same nice man came to our table a little while afterwards to check on us and he asked if we wanted some free chocolate chip cookies so he gave us some chocolate chip cookies. It was a really nice experience within a busy chaotic area. I had to tell everyone about my experience because it was really wonderful.

Visiting Cali and stopped in to Fatburger. Small place, with big taste! I ordered the large burger with skinny fries! The burgers are hefty & made fresh! I got the works, without relish! The skinny fries were fresh too! The burgers are filling and delicious the staff was very friendly & knowledgeable when it came to helping out with their menu. If I lived in Cali, I'd definitely be back to Fatburger!!! P.s. don't let my pic fool you, their burgers are HUGE!

I got the impossible burger meal with a orange soda and an onion ring side. I got all the fixings on my burger with added cheddar cheese and it is great. I ate a few fries and a couple onions rings before I could get a picture in. I got a side of Mayo and they gave ketchup with the fries so I mixed them together to make fry sauce. I ordered through Yelp with grub hub and the order came on time. So yummy.

ICONIC fatburger. One of the first things you should get when you visit LA. It's cultural.

Super mid. Only decent after midnight if you know what I mean. Would have been 2 stars but they get 3 for being open late.

I arrived about 30 minutes after they opened, and my food was hot, fresh, and ready in about 7-10 minutes. While I was eating and watching the World Cup matches, Marion, one of the owners, came over and struck up a conversation. We talked about the different Hot Wings Café locations, and since I live closer to the Sherman Oaks location, he let me know that another family member runs that restaurant. I love supporting true family-owned businesses, and you can genuinely feel that family atmosphere here. Even during the lunchtime rush, there was a steady stream of customers coming in and orders going out, but the staff never seemed overwhelmed. It was easy to tell they have a loyal group of regulars. The young woman working alongside Marion was just as friendly, cheerful, and gracious, whether she was helping customers at the counter or taking phone orders. It's becoming harder and harder to find this level of genuine hospitality, especially at family-owned restaurants. They made everyone who walked through the door feel welcome, and that kind of customer service is something I truly appreciate. I'll definitely be visiting the Sherman Oaks location closer to home, but this Melrose location made a fantastic first impression. Great food, outstanding service, and genuinely kind people. I'll absolutely be back.

Yesterday I was nearby so I decided to treat myself. I ordered an 8-piece combo with 4 Mango Habanero wings, 4 plain wings and fries. I paid extra for vegetables and ordered a fountain drink. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different. The food came out lukewarm, almost cold. The fries were soggy, the wings were very small, dry, and overcooked the little amount of meat next to the bone was black. The Mango Habanero barely had enough sauce to even notice the flavor. What made it more disappointing was the price. I paid almost $27 for food that tasted like it had been sitting out and reheated instead of being cooked fresh to order. Meanwhile, I'd highly recommend New York Chopped Cheese & Lets Wing It in Mid City on Venice and Redondo instead. Their wings are bigger, more flavorful and the fries are actually seasoned. During lunch hours you can get wings, fries, vegetables, and a drink for $13 including tax. I really wanted Hot Wings Cafe to be consistent maybe I needed to dine in cause they have to be on their toes when you are in their face. The waitress we had went dining in was outstanding and the food was actually good then but after this experience, I will never order to go.

This time, we decided to try the Chinatown location since the traffic going toward Pasadena looked terrible. This location is pretty small and doesn't really seem set up for dining in. It feels more takeout-focused, although they do have some tables outside so we sat there. They didn't have the Mild+ spice level that the Pasadena location offers so I ordered two Mild and one Medium chicken tenders. I also got a side of collard greens after seeing several reviews recommending them. I felt like the spice level was higher at this location than at the Pasadena one. Even the Mild was definitely spicier than I remembered! It still had really good flavor, though. I also really enjoyed the collard greens and was glad I decided to try them. I'm not sure if it's just this location or if all of their locations do this now but they also gave us bottled water for free, which was nice. One thing I really liked about the Chinatown location was the parking. There's a huge parking lot across the street so finding a spot was easy. I prefer the Pasadena location for dining in but its parking lot is very small and finding a spot can be difficult. We'll definitely go back to Howlin' Ray's when we visit LA again next spring. We just haven't decided which location we'll choose next time!

This is one of my faves If you're gluten-free, just make sure to tell them, they're very good with it and know what's safe on the menu... including Korean FRIED CHICKEN!!! Food is absolutely delicious, would be one of my favorite spots even if I was able to eat everything (confirmed by a friend who came once and still talks about it). One of my top 5 spots in LA. The "small" order of chicken is gigantic, even just that with no sides is enough to fill me up and have leftovers. The fries are good too though! They do takeout and delivery, but it's a really special small place to eat at, I love the decor and the cozy, lovely feeling of going there, and the people working there (especially the owners) are incredibly nice and welcoming. It's a really special experience (especially as I've gone there enough times that they know me :) 10/10 recommend, 100/10 recommend if you need to eat gf. Love them.

I've been on the hunt for good oven roasted chicken because the Ktown area is mostly fried chicken, and I've tried so many places, but nothing compares to this spot. You can genuinely taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. I've already raved about these wings to so many friends, and even my friend from out of town who I had try when visiting, said she now craves them! They seriously deserve all the flowers. Highly, highly recommend!
