You ask for fat fries you get skinny, never ONCE has there not been some sort of an issue, we come back ONLY because its the ONLY one near us for a zillion miles, that's okay though, we're done. Tried to place a phone order for OVER thirty minutes , I would call and get put on hold- which by the way "hold" means they set the phone down so you have to listen to them yelling orders and everything else in your ear. I would wait about 7-10 mins,(NO exaggeration here) hang up call back, explain I was left on hold and get put RIGHT back on hold again. By the 5th time, the response I got from the girl was "Look, we're very busy I am trying to take care of my customers your just going to have to wait" UMMMMMMMMMM WHAT DO YOU THINK SOMEONE CALLING IN SIX TIMES TO PLACE AN ORDER IS? A CUSTOMER! WHO FOR SURE HAS BEEN WAITING. There may be a long line and the service is a bit slow but I think they need extra time to make the Burger really good. I asked for an original but the cashier added fat fries when I didn't order it. I think it's weird that they charge you for putting cheese in the Burger. The interior of the place is very retro and classic, and everything was clean. My first and last visit to a Fatburger. The tables were dirty. The soda fountain was out of ice. It took 40 minutes to get my food (no joke...I timed it). Nothing complicated, a Cajun chicken sandwich with skinny fries and a kid's cheeseburger meal. There were about 20 people in the restaurant, no line. I was there with friends who had ordered after me. They received their food about 20 minutes after ordering. After waiting a few more minutes for our food I went up to the counter to ask where my food was. She said "we're working on it". No apologies were given, just poor service. When we finally got our food, my son's $8 meal was missing his fries and the burger was the same size as one at McDonald's. I was pissed! My sandwich was dry, barely warm and flavorless. Not even a hint of spice. The skinny fries were pretty good, not good enough to make me go back. When I asked for my son's fries they brought the fat fries, he wanted the skinny fries. The employees do NOT care and the food was nothing to brag about. If you decide to go eat there don't go on an empty stomach. Fatburger of Carson - after having driven by you daily for 2 years, you and I finally unite. I'm glad we met, but I'm sure it's only a one-time deal. BACKGROUND: I used to work in Carson/Gardena and saw them clear out the property that used to be here, then saw them erect the shopping plaza. Seeing that there was a Fatburger, I always thought: "hey, I should try that place out some time". Then as fate would have it on Tuesday, a co-worker handed me a coupon - "Buy One Medium Fat Meal and get a Medium Fatburger Free" - well hell, you don't have to tell me twice to jump on that wagon. I worked late that night and wanted something to fill the gut and thought "why not". SETTING: There seems to be plenty of parking in the lot, but I chose to park on Albertoni and walk in. Immediately, I'm greeted with the Dodger game being played on one of the handful of flat screens they have going. The place is very clean and very bright, which was a plus in my book. I walked up to the register, the worker there was kind enough to call me "sir" and "boss" and was helping me through my first (and last) Fatburger experience. All in all, I ordered the medium combo with a fried egg on one medium with all the standard dressings, and one 'just the burger with nothing special added' to go. The total was $10 and some change, which made me think: "How in the world did it get over $10 with a coupon? Did the guy add something wrong? Whatever, should be good..." HITLIST: Burger with egg and fries - The egg really didn't seem to do much to enhance the experience of the burger. The burger in itself was okay, even tasty, but really nothing special. Nothing I couldn't put together myself at a weekend barbeque. The fries were surprisingly good. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Pair that with the chipotle tabasco sauce and ketchup and we're happy people. Overall, the combo meal left me fed, but not thrilled. [4/10] VERDICT: It's as the two-star rating says - 'I've experienced better.' It's not that Fatburger was horrible or disgusting, in fact, it was a decent burger, but simply, I didn't experience the wow factor. And quite honestly, with Carl's Jr. across the street, I don't see why I would be coming back. If when even with coupon in hand I felt like I over-paid, I'm sure I'd be even more upset on a regular purchase. Oh, and the Dodgers lost, which really helped solidify the two-star rating. I know, I know, it's unfair to Fatburger that they get a lesser rating because of some chump baseball team, but hey - it was a factor in the whole experience. Terrible customer service! I walked in at 11:47pm and the lady (manager) said that they are closed even though they closed at 12am and the doors are open! I understand that the employees want to leave but don't post "Hours of Operation" and don't follow it! This has got to be the cleanest Fatburger I've ever been to. I came here w/ my lunch wingman from New Jersey and another work buddy. I've been going to Fatburger since 1981. I got the "small" burger which is really a 1/2 burger - 2.5 oz of beef (I was thinking 5 guys, who's small is a single and regular is a double). Despite the ordering misstep, I was very satisfied with the burger. My wingman appreciated the decent quality of beef they use. "You worry about those pattys that cook down and are still perfectly round." I added Chile and fried egg. The egg protrude outside of the mini bun. The Chile had a nice bite that I don't recall from previous FBs. Onion rings were a little bland, but nice texture and size. Wingman ordered fat fries (steak fries). They have "skinny" fries which are thin cut. They use cool orange plastic cones for dine in orders. It took a little while for the food to be prepared - comparable to 5 guys. The setting was very modern, with corrugated steel decorating the walls. Nice colors and pictures. Very clean. The early 80's soul music was a little loud, requiring you to almost shout to converse. We will be adding this place onto our regular lunch list. I'll go with the medium next time. read more

I went here on a Friday evening. I placed my order and requested no cheese on my burger. When I got home I discovered that there was cheese on the burger. I had to drive all the way back there in heavy traffic to get the order corrected. No apology from anyone. I wrote a complaint to the better business bureau but they never got a response to my complaint. Fatburger what can I say! Me and my co-worker (and fellow foodie) had scoped this place out the moment they put the sign up that they were building on here. The guys who own this place are awesome. They are always on the floor checking on their customers and ensuring that we are getting our food in a timely matter. If there are any issues they are quick to resolve them. The staff in general are nice and I have never had any type of issue or "attitude" as you get when you go to some fast food places. It's probably the cleanest Fatburger I've ever been in. They definitely work to keep it looking nice. I also love the musical ambiance. It almost has a Johnny Rocket's appeal since they place music from the 50's and 60's. Too bad they don't have a jukebox where you can make your own selections (*hint* *hint*). All in all I always love coming here because I know I will have a good experience. I really like Fatburger... so much that I only go when I got a coupon in hand. Haha It's either the Free Medium, Large, or Turkey Fatburger when you purchase the corresponding meal. The fries are bomb, so don't skimp on those. After my first run, I wasn't too impressed. Something was jacked up in the my burger. Oh yea, I friggin' hate pickles and mustard. Take that junk out of the equation and you have perfection. The burger is awesome. Just freakin' expensive. You can pick up your coupons in the Carson Venture (local magazine/ newspaper you can find throughout local businesses). You also get 10% off with a valid CSUDH or Law Enforcement ID. The venue was very nice and clean, it looks like a burger stand (diner style). It is located inside a shopping center, so there was ample parking. The cashier was so nice. This Fatburger location is the best one I've ever been to. The food is always amazing and super fresh (Ive never had a half warm french fry) I always have the baby fat with fat fries. OMG... the fat fries... seriously some of the best fast food fries I've ever had, highly recommended.
