I order the pulled pork sandwich with Mac and cheese, also the Big Q with baked beans. The Big Q has pulled pork and brisket on it. We thought the food was good and for a good price. I really enjoyed their brisket. I felt that they could have given us a little more and I wish they had fries there. I got the nachos and while they were good, the toppings to chips ratio was very off. I think if I had to guess there was maybe 1 oz of shredded pork on there to about 50 chips. (Enough meat to fill a small shot glass) In total I spent $15.35 including a tip and I'm still hungry but don't want to eat just chips and cheese, a bit disappointing... would really like to know if their meat is weighed out and what a pork nacho serving is supposed to be at this place. Ordered pick up from here while we were here for a basketball tournament. Our order was ready in 5 minutes. We got the pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and the burnt ends sandwich with mac & cheese. The meat was phenomenal. It was juicy, flavorful and the sauce was to die for. The mac & cheese was also delicious. It was creamy and seasoned, clearly homemade! The baked beans were a little under seasoned and the sauce was a little thin. The pink lemonade needed more sugar. I want to start by saying I'm a Kansas City native. My standards for BBQ is insanely high. Being from Kansas City I had to order the burnt ends. When I walked in the place was decorated really cool. It looked like a BBQ place should look. The staff was friendly and respectful. The price was also is as to be expected of a BBQ place. The food was, well okay. My macaroni and cheese just tasted as normal Mac and cheese. It would be nice if they did a little something to give it a little more flavor. It was kind of, well bland. The beans I had were again.. kind of bland. They tasted exactly like canned beans. I'd recommend them to mix bbq sauce or something in there. The sauce you guys use is good. It isn't the same type of tangy sauce I'd expect from a BBQ place in Kansas City, but it is good no doubt. My burnt ends were a little disappointing. They tasted alright but were not that special. Again I put some bbq sauce on them and it helped quite a bit. There just wasn't much Smokey flavor. I wonder how long you guys smoke the meat ? My father had ribs and pork and a little brisket. I'll say the ribs were great. Fall off of the bone tender and had a great meaty taste. I noticed the brisket had a nice smoke ring and was done really well. Not super soft but still tender that you can easily pull it apart. Just the way brisket should be. All in all I give it a 3/5 because it is good. I think they just need to work on making the sides a little better and perhaps focus on adding some more flavor to the meats. But again for Quincy this is really good. I will stop in and visit again. Majestic is the word I would use to describe Fatback's barbecue, my friends and I drove over 2 and a half hours to Quincy because we needed Fatback's in our lives but boy was I not prepared for the juicy, scrumptious, luscious, fall of the bone ribs they served us, might I add the Mac and cheese was masterfully cooked and tasted as if god cooked it himself, we were not given utensils because we were told the food can not be separated from your body during consumption just as God intended. I just tried Fatback's the other day and was very happy with the food that I purchased. I bought a whole chicken and a pound of brisket to take home. The chicken was very juicy and had a really good taste. The brisket was super good. It wasn't sauced but they included a side of sauce for it. It was good without the sauce but amazing with it. They threw in a piece of cornbread (1 piece with a whole chicken and a pound of brisket) and despite not being enough of it, it was super tasty as well. There have been 3 BBQ places spring up in the past month or two in Quincy. I've been to all 3 and I feel that this one's the most reasonably priced and has the best BBQ. read more

We are on the road 350 miles from home and had to have work done on my truck at a Chevy dealership a few blocks from this restaurant. My 8 month pregnant wife and my 13 month old baby and I walked down to Fatbacks for lunch. The heat index is 98 degrees today and it was 10:45 when we arrived. We were happy to find the front door unlocked and we were even more happy to feel air conditioning. We were told that they didn't open for 15 more minutes and we were asked to leave. Seriously? Then that power tripping minimum wage employee locked the door as soon as we left. This is how you treat a pregnant woman and an infant baby on the hottest day of the year. I asked whom the owner was and a young man said"Donnie Osborne, my father". I asked to speak to him for a moment. I explained the situation and his response was "we are running a business here..." I told them that was completely backwards when it came to customer service. I asked what was wrong with asking a pregnant woman if she would maybe like a glass of water and a seat for 15 minutes? Why was the front door unlocked? The answers to that question is that you have a bunch of self-entitled young kids that could care less about your family... At least at a place like Applebee's they treat my family like they actually care; even if they don't. My recommendation is take your family somewhere other than Fatbacks if you care how your family is treated. If the owner's son does not care about the comfort level of a pregnant woman and baby because it is 15 darn minutes before they open...save your time and take your family where they are cared about. The owner's response is complete lies. Did you record the rudeness of your son in the parking lot? How about the same guy that told me that you don't open until 11... Did your lot record his rudeness to my wife? You can keep you crappy attitude and failed attempt to make me feel bad about your rude staff. Happy anniversary to a company that clearly only wants to pocket stab the people that don't live here. Where I live should not dictate how I am treated. Really good smoked BBQ - served dry rubbed or wet. We ate the ribs, brisket and pulled pork. The platters come with two sides. Coleslaw has a little surprise with pickles added in. Mac & cheese is nice and creamy. The green beans are definitely spiced and hearty baked beans. The sweet buttery cornbread is an added bonus. I've had a lot of BBQ and this place is keeper. We came to this place based off local family recommendation and the reviews posted here as we are from Florida and just visiting. Point blank we will NEVER come back. Not only was the lady at the counter not friendly but the food is not real BBQ. If you want real smoked pulled pork and brisket and other meats you need to go to Memphis or Kansas City since they are close. Heck Florida has better BBQ than this place. Let's start with the prices. The portion to price ratio is ridiculous. The portions are way to small and priced way to high of course. 10oz of meat with maybe a ¼ cup for each side and a slice of corn bread for $14??? I paid for it though because I thought it would be worth it. Now let's talk about the food. P My husband and son got the pulled pork platter with mac n cheese and green beans and cottage cheese as they were out of greens. The pork had no smoke flavor like it should and you could tell it was boiled versus smoked or even grilled. The corn bread is moist but crumbly. The mac n cheese was actually the only good thing there. My daughter and I ordered the Double play which includes pulled pork and brisket. We also had potato salad as a side. The potato salad was the weirdest thing I have ever tasted. I think they put a ton of paprika and their dry rub. The brisket was overcooked and had no smoke flavor either. While it didn't have the water flavor thank goodness it still was dry. I tried some of their sauce and it was spicy. For those of you that don't like spicy you won't find any other sauces and I asked. Full disclosure- my rating and review is probably biased. I live in Chicago and come to Quincy every few months to visit the BF. I am surrounded by excellent BBQ restaurants- in fact Chicago RibFest was the weekend prior to my visit to Fatbacks, so I had high expectations. We got the 7-7-7 that included both ribs, brisket and pulled pork. The ribs were alright. They were a little tough in my opinion, but the BF thought they were delicious. The brisket was a little dry and I honestly could not tell if the pulled pork was included or if it was mixed in with the brisket. Overall, I thought the place was decent and worthy of a 3 star rating. I think if you asked a Quincy local, they would probably rate this place 4-5 stars. read more
