This is the best BBQ in town by far. The beans and cornbread are scrumptious. When you enter FatBacks you smell the love that goes into this BBQ art form! No. You can't make it at home. I hope someday they can have a bigger space. Take home containers are very functional. It makes your car smell so good! Just go. You won't be disappointed. read more

This is our favorite barbecue restaurant in Quincy. The food is extremely good and the service is great. We normally get the Judges Platter which is plenty of food for two and we always bring some home with us. read more

I like it here! It's a small restaurant, you order your food at the counter and then go sit and wait. Sometimes it can take awhile, but for good reason. Their food is delicious and made to order! Only complaint I have is that portion sizes could be a little bigger. The location and setup of the dining area doesn't have much to offer, but the food more than makes up for that! read more

This is hands down the best BBQ place in Quincy. Definitely a hidden gem. Their box o bones is my favorite and something not very easy to find around here. Their greens and cornbread are also unbeatable around here. Great prices and portion sizes. My only small gripe is that I wish their business hours were more/longer, as we had to try multiple times before being able to try it out, but I completely respect that they put their family and family time first, as more businesses and employers should, so I guess that falls into the positive category. Highly reccomend! read more

This place here has the best mouth watering Burnt ends I have ever had in my life! The service is great and the food never disappoints. It is by far the best BBQ I have had in my life. read more

Had a great lunch while traveling. Quarter rack with dry rub, baked beans and Mac n cheese. All top notch will have to visit here again while in town. read more

My husband and I visited here yesterday and the food and service were both outstanding. The generous portions and reasonable prices are such a pleasant surprise! I definitely recommend their smoked chicken, and we will definitely be back! read more

Fatbacks BBQ - Yum! Everything was delicious...even as leftovers! - Barbeque Near Me - Quincy, Illinois

Most delicious bbq ive had! Sides were very good as well! A must stop if you're ever in Quincy! read more

We aren't too sure why this is getting such high ratings. We were not impressed. First off, the young man running the cash register needs to speak up and speak clearly!! I asked for fries as a side, which they don't have, and he mumbled something so I asked for fries again. This time he said that they don't serve fries. WHAT?!! No fries! I ordered the Fatback sandwich($7.95) which came out cold and had a soggy bun. I had to eat it with a fork. My husband had the Double Play Platter($13.95), which was also barely warm. The baked beans were over sweet and had no smoky flavor (needs bits of there smoked meat in it). The mac and cheese was runny and pretty tasteless. The place was clean, including the bathrooms and the service was quick for a Saturday night. Unfortunately we will not be doing a return visit if we are in the area. read more

We went there about an hour before close. They were out of ribs, which was a bummer for my husband. He got the brisket, which was good. I got the pulled pork platter, which was really good. The problem I had was that the platter was 9 bucks and the portion was fairly small. I don't know if they were rationing because of shortages, or if that is the standard size. The food was good, just insanely overpriced for the serving sizes. Also my food was served by a child, which I don't care for. read more

Holy moly y'all! That's all I have to say. This is a small family owned restaurant, and has a definite bbq southern style feel. Being from southern Texas, I love that! After trying their beef brisket sandwich with Mac & cheese, it left me wondering how this place isn't jam packed? I have come to the conclusion that maybe it is their location. Their homemade bbq sauce is absolutely delicious, it has spice, but at the same time it's sweet and tangy! Their Mac and cheese is absolutely DELICIOUS, I'd frequent this establishment for the Mac and cheese itself let alone all of the delicious bbq. I would like to let the owners know- You are doing something right, and doing it amazingly. Double thumbs up read more

Best smoked meat in town. Seating area pretty sparse, but that's not why you go to a place like this.

Good stuff! Try the Memphis Mac, or the stuffed baked potatoes, you won't be sorry! The brisket is super tender as well.

Went here on my first date. It was my first time eating here. Loved the food, service, everything about the place was awesome! I will be comming back!. Was there on 3,18,2018. Yup st.pattys day. And still had awesome service read more

Fatback's is a great and often overlooked spot in Quincy, especially for lunch. They are also known for treating veterans right, which is always a good thing. Had the pulled pork nachos during my last visit and they did not disappoint. They had the right mix of pork, sauce and jalapeños. They were honestly so good that it will be hard to order something different the next time I visit! read more

Wow! I've eaten here twice now, and both times have been incredible! How in the world did Memphis BBQ get to Quincy, IL? The beast BBQ Chicken I have ever had in a restaurant! The cornbread was so moist and tasty! The green beans are excellent and I am still trying to fin my second favorite side! The mac & cheese is different and the tater salad was more salad than tater. Really nice people, nice place, and if you like BBQ, you can't go wrong! read more

I wasn't in the mood for fast food or the traditional franchise sit-down types. So what to do? Yelp to the rescue! If you like BBQ, then this will suit you fine. Service was a bit spotty ( trivial mistakes that rile some folks), but overall a great visit. read more

Amazing collared greens and the BBQ is great as well. They aren't on the menu but sometimes they offer Burnt Ends and you should always check to see if those are available. Service can be a little slow but the people are nice so as long as you arent in a hurry it's not a big problem. Overall this is definately one of the BEST places to eat within 100 miles. read more

Fatbacks is great. Ive been here a few times and plan on coming back while i'm still in school. Thursday Box-o-Bones for $5 is awesome!

We ate there this evening. The brisket was outstanding. The best I've had outside of Franklin's in Austin, Tx. Great flavor, moist, tender, great smoke ring, and delicious. My wife had the pulled pork and reported it to be average. I tasted it and instantly remembered why I always ordered brisket. Not that it was bad, but just average. Good service and friendly people cooking and serving. read more

Fatbacks ha the best BBQ in Quincy and the service has been wonderful! Every time I've been there I've had delicious food, pulled pork or ribs or burnt ends! My favorite side is their Mac N cheese. OMG! The seasoning is so good, not overpowering and the sauce is creamy! Thank you for being an excellent made from scratch restaurant! read more

Great food, great prices, and it's locally owned by an amazing family! Talk about a triple threat! Make sure you try the Brisket!

After reading the many great reviews we tried FSR. We ordered the full slab of ribs dry and the pulled pork platter. We are new to the area and have had BBQ all over and wanted to try this local bbq in the rough. The ribs larger than most and were good but a bit over cooked on top. That could have been part of the dry vs wet cooking. The meat was good but not fall off the bone good. The pulled pork platter was tasty as I mixed the tangy and sweet sauces. The sauces were good but a bit thin vs thick which I prefer. The sides of Mac and cheese, beans, Cole slaw, and rice were decent but not anything special. As noted by others the rice is spicy and the Mac a bit plain. The corn bread was very good. As far as the atmosphere it smelled good and the baths were clean. The staff was friendly but could be more engaging with newbies. No plates and plastic utensils made the experience a bit challenging. Overall a good experience but for the price not a great value. read more

My husband is a true BBQ fanatic....we travel alot and we eat BBQ all over the US. This is the one of the best we have found anywhere..... Great food, awesome sides.... read more

Best BBQ in town. Very small restaurant but loved how it is family ran. Get the judge's box. Try not to go at the end of the night the meat tends to be a little dried out. But love it. read more

Nothing is bad here. It is the beast BBQ around. If you live in Quincy you already know this. If you are passing through and you like BBQ, you have to eat here! All of the meats are smoked and tasty, they have a good BBQ sauce and all of the sides are fantastic. I especially like their green beans and cornbread. The restaurant is on the small side and they close far too often for my taste but I highly recommend it. AWESOME! read more

Love this place. I've always received great service and delicious food! I sure wish we had a Fatbacks BBQ closer! Maybe a 2nd location guys!? (Columbia MO)! read more

I've been all over the United States and have had a lot of BBQ, my biggest disappointment was in the pricing vs. proportion and plastic utensils made you feel like you were struggling. The BBQ smells good, but when it comes to taste, it was extremely reliant on the sauce instead of how the meat was cooked. However, for the most part it was good, I would suggest improving certain techniques, being less reliant on your sauces for flavor, and increasing your proportion size. read more

Great food. Non chain family start-up restaurant with a small but adequate menu where every item is full of flavor and well prepared. Tasty business. It's not fancy decor or place settings. Small indoor eating space with seating for about 25ish. Great for take out as well. Excited to see this place grow as it gets more established with time. Awesome potential. By far some of the best BBQ in Quincy. Ask the owner chef Donnie what's the best on the menu and he'll honestly say... It's all good, give any of it a try. A woman sitting next to me said she wanted to be buried in their mac'n cheese. I'll have to try that next time. read more

I was so glad to get to taste this food. I was one of the members of the traveling team and we had a whole spread. I love the sauce, it was sweet and spicy. The chicken was cooked well and even though I don't eat beef, I had to taste the brisket because it looked so good. It was tender and juicy. The cornbread and greens were like my grandmother's. I appreciate not having to eat pizza and McDonald's all weekend while at basketball games. If we are back I will definitely return. read more

Most tasty bbq I've ever had it was of great texture and quality with tremendous flavor. They didn't serve beers but I understood cause he stood by what he believed in! Great customer service, will go there anytime I am feel like having my taste buds rocked! read more

Delicious and great service! I like to call ahead to order and pick up. My favorite is the pulled pork and the corn bread is to die for!!! Smaller dining area, but very neat restaurant. read more

Very good BBQ, and some clever offerings like a BBQ parfait, and BBQ nachos (amazing!). Certainly not fancy, but I've eaten BBQ all over the country, and I've never had good authentic BBQ in a fancy place! All the great ones are holes in the wall. As for the review from the lady from Florida- man I'm glad I don't have to put up with her whiny crap. Wow, what a malcontent. Tell ya what Princess, go on back to Florida and eat at one of those crap so-called BBQ down there. I think you'd be happy at Sonny's, it's probably more your speed. read more

i choose this bbq place because of the reviews . I asked the woman up front I would like a slab of ribs and could you please cut the ribs individually so my family and I could eat them because we're traveling back to Kansas City. She asked the woman in back if they could do that for us and she said 3.00 it would cost you! That's like giving you a chunk of brisket and say cut it to make your sandwich. If you want great bbq and GREAT SERVICE go to Kansas City! They cut your slab in literally 3 seconds! No charge! Very rude atmosphere and a rip off service to there customers! read more

Great BBQ! Brisket is tender and the sauce is exceptional with a touch of curry? You just have to try it.

OUTSTANDING BBQ! My family and I frequent this place when we want a great atmosphere, good food and good people. My daughter LOVES the pork nachos. I am a huge fan of the Bag of Bones, brisket..the greens...and the list goes on! Fantastic place..HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! You will be glad you did. In addition, we met family from KC there and they LOVED IT as well. read more

Never again will I eat at this place!!! I ordered the pulled pork, coleslaw and baked beans. first of all the pork was cold like they just took it out of the refrigerator. the baked beans were cold and tasted like Van camps. the slaw wasnt bad. and the presentation was horrible. they slapped your food on a tray with waxed paper. Who serves the public like that. read more

I love me some BBQ and if you do too you have to give these guys a shot. You will be hooked. Hands down the best in the area. Ribs and awesome and the pulled pork and brisket melt in your mouth.
