I went to Fat Nats Eggs and it was just OK. When you walk in you pick your own seat, and it was pretty packed since it was brunch time, so I found a table in the corner. Service was quick and they brought coffee right away, which was actually the best part of my meal. The inside has a classic diner feel and nothing to complain about there. I ordered the green chili Mexican egg plate, kind of like chilaquiles, and was excited when it came out fast. Unfortunately, it was very bland. I get that we are in the Midwest, but it had no spice at all and was missing salt or any real flavor. After about half the meal, it just started to taste repetitive and dull. The service was still fast and I was done in about 35 minutes total. I probably would not go back unless I was trying something completely different on the menu.

Quite busy on a Saturday AM. We had about a 15 minute wait. * Service was friendly and prompt. Waiter was great! * Pancakes were large and excellent! * Eggs and hasbrowns were excellent but slightly cold when served *Chicken wild rice soup was watery and under seasoned. Overall breakfast was good here but not great. I would come back again and try something else to make sure but at this point it's a solid 3 stars!

Amazing food! Sat at the counter, which is low seating, not those high bar counter and stools, very comfortable. Got Fat Nat's Omelet with wheat toast ...delish and loved every bite. The coffee was good too! Will be back!

The food came fast and the servers were sweet. The portions of the food is a lot and well worth your buck. I got the Julie's with hash browns and pancake. It was absolutely delicious. The place is very small and welcoming. Def a great place for breakfast.

Fat Nat's is a great spot for comfort food--huge portions, packed with flavor, great value, and super quick service. Always hits the spot!

Eggs, potatoes and carnitas with Hatch green chili sauce. Excellent!

Our go to breakfast place had a power outage so we headed to Fat Nat's. What a great local place! Lots of traditional choices and a lean into New Mexico influenced dishes that were amazing! Service was spot on despite the place being packed. In and out in an hour for a party of 8.

We live in Brooklyn Park but drive out of our way to this location in St.Anthony as it is the best. The food and service are miles better then the other locations. Portions are huge and nicely served. We opted for the pancake instead of toast. It has a slight almond flavor to it which is delicious. You can swap a pancake for the toast for no extra charge, which i would highly recommend. We usually get either the Norm's omelette, Mike's omelette or the huevos con papas favorito. They food and service are always consistent when we visit.

11/10 would recommend! On vaca in MN, my grandmother suggested going to this wildly popular, local brekfasty diner place. We walked in and there were people lined up out the door (it was Sunday after church)! BUT it was only a 15 minute wait. Gave us sometime to catch up and enjoy the sun! We were sat && were immediately greeted by multiple servers welcoming us in - that's the Midwest for ya. We all ordered and within 15 minutes we had all of our food! The husband ordered their Pulled Pork BBQ sandwich w/ "American" fries && over easy eggs and 1 pancake on the side. The pulled pork was sweet w/ a tang && get it with an egg on top - it's a life changer. The pancake was HUGE and didn't take away from the flavor - super sweet && a hint of almond ecstract. I ordered their breakfast Green Chili Huevos w/ carnitas. It was delish! Over easy eggs && spicy verde sauce - my game all the way! My cousin ordered their biscuits and gravy w/ over easy eggs && hash browns w/ cheese. YUM! And lastly. The Grandma got Eggs Benedict w/ big ol slices of ham and crispy hash brown. She said - tasted good like always. Overall this place was an awesome choice && EVERYONE was pleased && not an empty stomach in the house! The best part besides the amazing food was the service! AMAZING!

Came here for breakfast with my mom. They were very short staffed with only 2 people taking care of everyone in the restaurant. They first sat us at a 2 person table-there was so many things on the table there is no way to have room for plates so we asked to move to a bigger table. Server took our order and food came out pretty quick. I got the basic ehh, bacon, and American fries. My mom got the corn beef hash. The bacon came out too crispy with the ends being black. My mom said her breakfast tasted good. There was so many potatoes that we brought them home and was able to have them as a side for dinner that night. Server did redeem her server by flagging us down to let us know we forgot our leftovers on the table. I would try this place again if I lived in the area vs out of state

Cozy Hmong-American restaurant with French-influenced pastries? Count me in! I literally updated my destination to this restaurant while in the uber and decided to grab a bit of food before heading to my hotel. I had no reservation, but arriving a little after 1 pm on a Monday had no wait for a bar seat. It's such a cozy, homey restaurant with light wood, light brick, natural light, few plants inside and a very casual patio with picnic tables outside. I could see this place being a tough reservation during peak times. I hadn't eaten all day and was extremely hungry. I opted for the king crab omelette with red curry beurre blanc. I got a side of sticky rice to make it slightly heartier since I was so hungry and got some pastries to go, since I was in a bit of a time crunch to make it to my hotel and take some work calls. Service was incredibly friendly and fast. My server really did Minneapolis proud, chatted with me about my trip, gave me other great goodie recommendations to fill out my dining for the week, and overall really made the visit special. The crab omelette was unreal. Simultaneously fresh, light, but with a hint of kick and richness from the red curry beurre blanc. Excellent flavor combo. I got the crab Rangoon danish and the coconut pandas croissant to go and ate them for breakfast the next day and they were still so light and fresh with unreal flavor combos. The pandan was my favorite and I tend to be a savory over sweet pastry girl. This place is deserving of all of its hype and more. I honestly really wanted to go back and asked if I could try to sneak in a reservation to come again for later in the week, but sadly they are when I was free the rest of the time I was in town. Absolutely scheming to come back to Minneapolis just to eat here again!

First off, plenty of private on-site parking, which is always a win in the city. Inside, the space is stunning. Large windows line most of the walls, flooding the café with warm, natural light. There's an impressive variety of seating depending on your vibe--couches, high-top tables, standard tables, bar-style seating facing the gorgeous large windows, and even solo setups if you're craving true alone time. Thoughtful and inviting in every way. The service was equally lovely. Monroe, the barista who helped me, made a spectacular Iced Brown Sugar Honey Latte--so good I ordered a second after I finished my first one. He was happy to answer all of my questions about the bakery items, breakfast offerings, and the horchata lattes that caught my eye. I ultimately went with the Chicken Chilaquiles, and wow... that was absolutely the right move. The dish featured warm, juicy chunks of chicken breast over crispy fried tortilla chips, topped with fried eggs, sliced avocado, beets, cotija cheese, and tomatillo sauce. The sauce wasn't spicy, but had just enough gentle heat to balance the tanginess of the green tomato beautifully. I also appreciated that the chips weren't overly drenched, allowing each ingredient to shine. Crunchy, flavorful, satisfying, and filling--everything you want in a breakfast. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the apple empanada. It may have been a one-off, but mine didn't quite hit the mark. Flavor-wise, it was good and accurately described as a slice of fried apple pie. Where it fell short for me was the filling-to-dough ratio. The filling was very minimal and almost paste-like, likely due to being reheated rather than baked fresh that day. I would've loved a filling with chunks of apples or simply more filling overall. Overall, the morning/afternoon I spent here brought me so much joy. I loved that there was no time limit--I was able to get a ton of work done while sipping delicious coffee, enjoying a slow, satisfying breakfast, and soaking in the sunshine. Vivir is a space that truly works for so many occasions: solo time, catching up with friends, family visits, or settling in for a few hours. I'll happily be returning whenever I'm in NE Minneapolis.

I also noticed the staff didn't look stressed out despite the crowd. The large windows face north and west like my home, but somehow it feels bright and sunny, probably assisted by the blond furniture and gold and white colors. Water is self serve, but the rest of your order arrives fairly quickly after you sit down. I loved both of the brunches I ordered, getting a green salad with a delicious vinaigrette on the side is a lovely contrast to the indulgent loaded hash browns or soft scramble. My sons went for heartier fare and had no complaints, they would rate their food 4 out of 5 though the jam was reportedly awesome. I'd go 5 out of 5 on the loaded hash browns, because somehow they are still nice and crisp under all the yummy things on top of them. The coffee is very good, and I consider myself a coffee snob. Baked goods happy hour is a nice feature too. After dropping off his brother, my oldest twisted my arm to go back and get some half price cinnamon rolls since it had just passed 1 pm. The bathroom is across a hallway, shared with other businesses, and sparkling clean. There are fancier brunches out there in the Twin Cities, but I think this place deserves 5 stars for the whole experience, it's casual, but classier than a diner.

We both got the Ropa Vieja Hash and decaf. Ropa Vieja is one of my all-time favorite foods, so I always get it when available. I was a little scared, honestly, because I don't know who's in the kitchen and wondered if they'd make it correctly. Well, I can tell you that this meal was stellar, with only one caveat. The egg was not over easy/soft, so we couldn't mix the yolk with everything else. We will be sure to stipulate this when next we have this delicious treat. The house-made tortillas and friend plantain were a perfect match to the hash. The Ropa Vieja was tender and seasoned beautifully. We will certainly be back. They have a Ropa Vieja sandwich that we both were eyeing when deciding to try the hash. The staff are friendly enough and helpful when you have a need. Oh, the "hot sauce" that's maple and jalapeno is a definite no. Fortunately they had Cholula, which we didn't actually use. It was not needed for the hash.
