What a life saver on weekends. I have seen lineups for Fat Franks that rival most clubs on Whyte Ave. It is well worth the wait. This is your classic Hot Dog stand and they make them so good. They have a huge selection of toppings and the price is decent but really they can charge whatever they want. People are desperate for food after the club and will pay almost anything at that point. I often wonder how much money they make off the clubbers. They do have more to offer, but all I care about is their hot dogs.

Really bummed that we came all the way here and they haven't stocked any gluten free buns, despite the fact that their signs advertise them.

I love Fat Franks. I volunteered on a project and a Fat Franks cart set up outside every Saturday and that was all the thanks I needed.

We went with high hopes but ended up leaving with nothing. This event should definitely be longer than 4 hrs on only one day. This needs to be at least a weekend long event to cut down on lines and wait time. Unless some big changes are made I can't see myself going next year. I'd rather check around downtown and find some of these trucks on my own, or try out the restaurants. I would not recommend this event unless you're looking to wait hours in line. If you do go, make damn sure you're not paying for parking anywhere... Park and take the LRT or bus because you'll be a while.

I was so excited to have What the Truck come to my neighbourhood. I had heard much about the…read moreindividual food trucks and also about the past WTT events. I was thrilled to be able to attend. Finally. But the experience did not live up to the expectations. First, the trucks were crammed too close together, making the lines difficult to navigate. It was hard to determine which line we were even in. This also made the abundant seating that the Victoria Promenade has to offer utterly worthless, since the lines for the trucks snaked around the benches. I mean, how can one sit and enjoy a meal with dozens of people crushing in around you? Going across the street to sit on the grass wasn't helpful when a resident in the neighbouring condos called the cops on people sitting there for "destroying the landscaping". Lines were very long, but the food we had (from The Act) was extremely good. Maybe not 70 minute wait good, but very good none-the-less. A couple of trucks ran out of food by 7:30. Some of my friends were denied food after waiting in line for 45 minutes. Overall, the event seemed poorly planned, especially for something that wasn't just thrown together at the last minute. I would hope that What the Truck does come back to The Prom, but if they do, I would suggest closing down the road for the last block, having the trucks spread out and parked in the middle of the road, thus allowing for the lines to extend down the road and opening up the seating in the benches along the Promenade.

The best thing is that every single item is under $10. There are lots of dips, drizzles and toppings to choose from. Mini baby Dutch pancakes - these hot delicious pancakes are great for sharing or in my case, eating them all myself. (My personal favourite) Cheesecake on a Stick - this is their most popular item. I dipped mine in chocolate and had coconut sprinkled all over it and topped off with more chocolate drizzle! Dipped Frozen banana - this is a great treat for summer! I dipped mine in milk chocolate and topped with nuts and nutella drizzle. Chocolate covered strawberries - perfect treat for anythime. Who doesnt love a chocolate covered strawberry. Overall, I enjoyed everything I had. Ed, the owner is friendly and inviting. He was very helpful in guiding me through the process and letting me know which the top picks were. The ambiance is light and fun and whimsical. You can also catch them at the various farmers market locations, KDays and Taste of Edmonton this year.

Seating is just outside their venue and obviously there are no high chairs as it's part of university campus. There wasn't any line up because it was after school hours, so service was pretty fast. I'm a little disappointed the menu is not as grand as the other location I've been to, but they do have $5 kids dishes and the options are healthy. I ended up with a chicken cranberry pesto sandwich plus soda & a chick rice bowl for my kid. Food was hot & fresh, tasted just fine, but I was still a little hungry after. Another thing about this location is that their $2 flavour infused water doesn't actually have fruit chunks in your cup like the other location did. They also closed shortly after 5pm, so I'm glad I got to eat something healthy before shopping! I feel bad for other potential patrons, because they forgot to take down their "open" signage that was left in front of the butterdome entrance.

My $9 salad was tiny (I'd hardly pay more for a much larger and fresher one at a grocery store). The ingredients were super lack lustre (giant pieces of not very fresh lettuce) and the chicken was barely edible. Really poor quality meat that has likely never resembled a chicken breast. About what can be expected from fast food but based on reviews at other locations I expected better. Overall, found it not very good and expensive. A bad combination. Won't be going back.
