Freshly made to order. Thats the main thing this chicken has going for it. I was hoping to have more Asian flavors come through, but the taste was pretty standard. The thigh was very juicy. My drumstick had a broken bone, so it was hard to eat with all the bone shards.

    2 Pcs G Pai - Boneless Thigh ($12.49) - Close Up

I had a good experience at Fat Daddy (West Covina). I ordered the G Pai - Boneless Thighs ($12.49 - 2 Pieces). It arrived big, steaming hot, and moist. Its skin is crisp & flaky. It resembled a giant popcorn chicken. (Important: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment.) I arrived at Fat Daddy (West Covina) on a rainy Wednesday (around 11:55AM) . Parking is easy on a rainy weekday. Usually, the big lot is very competitive. Service is non-existent. The displayed sign proudly claims, "This is a cashier less store." Customers order on a self-service kiosk. I appreciated how the self-service kiosk does not require a cell phone number, and I liked how it printed paper receipts. Staff calls your receipt's number when the order is ready. My order took 16 minutes and 47 seconds. It's a lengthy wait. I appreciated the G Pai - Boneless Thighs ($12.49 - 2 Pieces). It's thick, tender, moist, and steaming hot. The outside is crisp, flakey, and well-seasoned. The meal felt fresh and clean. Its also big! I left full. They provide small spicy powder to shake on top; however, customers need to purchase sauces if interested. Regarding ambiance, Fat Daddy (West Covina) is located inside the Haven City Market. It's a vibrant, eye-catching food stall. Still, Fat Daddy (West Covina) shares the ambiance of the popular Haven City Market. The location is very clean; there's many inside and outside tables; and there's many flatscreen televisions with the Spectrum Sportsnet Channel. Its common to see basketball and/or football playing. In addition, the location has customer internet with password; the information is taped on the walls. There's also upbeat, festive music. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Fat Daddy (West Covina). The meal is filling, clean, and fresh. If you enjoy chicken, this is an easy recommendation. 4.7 out of 5

Good Taiwanese fried chicken joint inside the food hall, although I fail to taste any 'Taiwanese flavor' in either the chicken or the breading. In fact it tastes rather bland without chili powder. To me Taiwanese chicken means the fried basil popcorn chicken. Be that as it may, their chicken is fresh and made to order, and may take as long as 20 minutes. Fortunately you're free to roam around the vast food hall and order drinks and desserts while you wait. Jollibee has nothing to fear.

I was just strolling along in HAVEN CITY MARKET and noticed a lot of people watching the World Series. I have ordered from Fat Daddy at Haven City West Covina (WC) a few times now. My first visit was with a couple of my dear college friends during soft opening... it was their treat in celebration of my birthday... thank you for the tasty meal! My second visit was on their Grand Opening Day. It's definitely one of my favorite spots at Haven City WC. Highly recommend!! Their fried chicken was the B*MB! The skin was crispy by perfection. And it's not oily at all. The chicken meat was super tender, moist, and juicy. Chicken pieces were huge. Seasoning on the breading was light, simple, and flavorful. It's like no other. Just SO GOOD! Regular and sweet potato fries were okay. Next time I would just get fried chicken only. Self-ordering is done easily via the kiosk. Prices are slightly on the higher end, but worth it since you're getting quality fried chicken. Wait time may be long as they make every order to order. You're getting freshly made fried chicken every time. Please be patient. It's worth the wait! Trust me on this one. When your order is ready, they'll call your number. Staff was friendly and pleasant. Condiments are available on the counter... grab what you need. Sit where there is availability in the food hall. Get ready to take your tasty bite!

It was just around opening time on Labor Day Monday and everything was slowly opening up. I wanted to find something that can be shared with a group and I remembered fat daddy having really good fried chicken wings. When I came over I was confused at first but decided to order via the kiosk. The place was clean and you can see the kitchen right away. There's lots of signs and one said order here but it was a wall of menu photos? I'm glad they displayed the menu all over the walls, makes it easy to order when there's a line and you don't have to decide on the spot. I saw they had a $5 drink and fries, then ordered their 24 piece wings for $19.99. The total and optional tip was around $30. I didn't get a receipt despite asking for it to be printed? I also didn't get a device that vibrates when the order is ready for pick up, instead I entered my phone number and just had to wait. Wasn't sure since I didn't get a confirmation text that order is being prepared or ordered but I trusted the system! I took a photo of my order# on the kiosk screen just in case I entered the wrong phone number... Luckily around 16minutes I got a text! I went and they nearly packed my food in a bag with chili powder and I grabbed forks before I left. It was hot and crispy! Small wings but very crispy skin! The fries was a mix of sweet potato and crinkle cut fries which my toddler enjoyed. Loved that after we finished our drink we asked for a refill prepared to pay a fee and they didn't! Nice!

    2 pcs Boneless Thighs G-Pai(無骨雞腿排兩塊)

The Taiwanese-style fried chicken cutlet (Boneless Thighs G-Pai) was way better than Jolibee. The outer batter was super crispy, and the boneless thigh was tender and juicy with a large portion that really filled me up. Waiting 18 minutes was totally worth it. It would be perfect if the serving speed got a bit faster. 比Jolibee更好吃的台式炸雞排。 外層麵衣炸得極其酥脆,去骨雞腿嫩又多汁,份量大有飽足感,等待18分鐘是值得的。 如果出餐速度改善的話就完美了。

Tasty fried chicken, crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. My first time eating here was so good that I brought a family member the next day to try it too

Great service, Usually food court restaurant charge for refills, Daddy from Fat daddy just saw me holding my cup reach out his hand and asked "what flavor?" We got 24 pc and fries. The chicken is a bit on the smaller side but it is Soo good tender and flavorful, we got non-spicy but Daddy gave us some red chili pepper for the group. Thanks daddy, you'll see me back soon

Background On Fat Daddy: With over 15 years of expertise in Taiwan, Fat Daddy Fried Chicken is embarking on an exciting new chapter in the Philippines! Welcome to an entirely new realm of fried chicken indulgence. Fat Daddy's Mission Statement: Renowned for its unmistakable Taiwanese flair, Fat Daddy is poised to redefine the fried chicken dining experience by reinvigorating your palate with every bite, crafting a harmonious blend of flavors that will undoubtedly ignite your cravings. Relish the impeccable fusion of crispy, tender, and exceptionally flavorful buttermilk fried chicken - an exclusive delight that only Fat Daddy can offer! Credit Cards: They're accepted. Price Point: Yes, it's a bit pricey, but the quality of their product makes the chicken worth it. If you like numbers, it's about $3.00/piece. Location: Located in the Haven City Market next to Loopy Llama. Parking can be found in the shared lot up front. Ambiance/Decor: Not much ambiance besides waiting in line to order and picking up your food when your number is called/texted. Service: Service was okay. I ordered through the kiosk. Didn't really interact with a staffer until I was ready to pickup my food. For fried chicken orders, it usually takes about 30+ minutes. Food is made to order. Might not be a great option if you're in a time crunch unless you order ahead of time. Food Of Choice: Decided on the 6 piece Taiwanese fried chicken ($17.99). Instead of 6, we got about 8-9 pieces. I guess we got compensated for the size differential of the other chicken pieces. Chicken was crispy, moist, flavorful, and quite tasty. So happy that the chicken wasn't heavily fried. Fat Daddy For Thought: I would definitely like to try this shop again.

The red colored exterior of Fat Daddy grab my attention while I was walking around in Haven City Market. I decided to stop and try it. It is a Taiwanese style fried chicken. I ordered ; Mixed fries , Potato salad, wontons, and fried chicken. It took around twenty minutes until the order was ready. I didn't mind at all for the waiting time because the taste and the quantity was great. The chicken was very crispy from outside, juicy and flavorful from inside. It is a great chicken place in Haven City Market. Next time, I will place my order first, then walk around the market until my order is ready.

The menu price when they first open

When Fat Daddy Fried Chicken first opened in West Covina, I was more curious than eager to try it. Even though I am from Taiwan, where this brand originated, I had only heard of them and had never tried their food before. In Taiwan, they are known not just for fried chicken, but also for offering a variety of tasty fried snacks. The West Covina location is inside the Haven City Food Court, a trendy, big screen TVs with live sports show, modern style food court that's becoming increasingly popular (and of course you pay more for the food and experience). On my visit, I noticed the menu was limited compared to what typically find in Taiwan. After ordering, I ended up waiting more than 20 minutes for my food. While it's true that the chicken is cooked fresh to order, which results in a crispy exterior and juicy interior, the overall experience wasn't particularly memorable. For a wait that long, I was expecting something a bit more special. The flavor was decent, but not outstanding compared to other fried chicken options. One of the main reasons Fat Daddy is popular in Asia is because of its competitive pricing and solid quality. However, in the U.S., the pricing feels steep for what you get, especially given the long wait times and limited menu. Overall, I appreciate the brand trying to make a name for itself here, and I truly wish them success. But based on my experience, I gave it 3.5 stars. It's worth trying once, especially if you are curious or want to support them. In the most recent visit, I noticed the menu price has been changed, and I would love to return and give it another try sometime.

Delicious Taiwanese fried chicken. Was recommended by someone who really enjoyed them in Taiwan. I think this place is a victim of its location in the Haven City Market. It's located in the far left corner of the place by the bar so if you don't enter from the left side, it can be overlooked or by time you see them, you'll already ordered somewhere else. Staff is friendly and welcoming. I will say, the wait is a bit long, but the food is fresh. If you plan on ordering from here, I'd recommend ordering here first then walking around, ordering at other places. I think what we had was delicious. This chicken isn't too overly battered and had the right amount of crisp. Buttery, milky, juicy and not too greasy . They have spices you can get on the side if you'd like your food a bit spicy, but it definitely doesn't need it. The mix fries was decent. Not as crispy as I would have liked. The food is perfect to share. From my understanding, and I've never tried the original in Taiwan, it's not as good. Most likely with anything that's brought over to the US, lack of available ingredients and resources affects the flavor. Would I get it again? Of course, if I'm the mood for fried chicken.

I have never been to a place like this, what a show! You pick what you want and they cook it in…read morefront of you. You decide what meats&veggies and how spicy you want it. I love the fact that this place has so many healthy choices. You start off with paying for a bowl and drink $7 and you scoot your tray aside an assortment of thin frozen meats: beef, chicken, pork, turkey. Pick up the tongs and try to fill as much as you can then smash it down into your bowl when staff is not looking. Next, you have an array of veggies to choose from: carrots, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, green onions, cilantro, tofu, broccoli, celery, water chestnuts. Then you give your plate to the staff and they throw their concoction together (lemon juice, garlic juice) and ask how spicy you want your meal. Lastly, they throw your meal atop a huge round stove (think benihana) and add fat yellow noodles, they turn it with gigantic chopsticks . Once it's done, they put it in a Styrofoam box for you to enjoy. Try it with sesame seeds, YUM! My only complaint is it's like Taco Bell food, you get hungry after an hr.

Went here for a quick dinner. Veggies looked old and brown, but since I was hungry I figured the…read morestir fry would cover that up. The cook immediately filled my bowl with spices of his own choosing. I told him I didn't want what he put in and asked why he didn't wait for me to indicate which sauces I wanted. He got real mad and tossed the bowl across the grill, put his hands on his hips and asked me what I wanted then. Why offer customers choices if you disregard this and do what you want? I did not deserve to be spoken to like this. I refused to have him make my food and went back to the cashier for a refund. She claimed she made the refund, but lied. I checked my bank five days later and was told they double charged me and never refunded me at all. I ended up having to fight with them through my bank. Totally not worth the aggravation. NEVER eat at a place that charges you before you get your food.
