I've had Panda Express here a couple times and most recently (yesterday) I was using my mobile phone to try and preorder. For some reason I wasn't able to use the rewards that was about to expire in a day so I decided to try and use it in store and ask. Turns out this Panda Express doesn't sell hand crafted drinks and the app won't change it for a drink they do offer to sell. I still decided to get food here since it's convenient and I love the consistency of pandas food. The food displayed looked clean, the lighting made the food look glistening more so than the other pandas I've been. It may be due to the ceiling windows and lighting making it much more vibrant. They portion chow mein much more than the Arcadia one at the mall and they pack the small boxes tightly as well! With a bigger plate and bowl order it was around $24, no drinks unfortunately but I got some sauces and chopsticks with no problem. Everything is bagged for convenience so that when we have leftovers we can just up and go without asking for a bag. read more

I can never understand why Panda Express doesn't provide spoon to its customers!!! They serve rice but don't provide spoon. Senior citizens need to use spoon to eat rice. went with my mother to grab food at west covina mall panda express. a young employee named jessica assisted us, she was very unprofessional! we were undecisive looking at the food to make a choice of what we wanted and right away she was rushing us, mind you we just arrived!!!! she didn't give us time to look at the food! she was rude about it! poor customer service!!! jessica needs more training! she was not kind to an elderly (my mom). definetly not going back! please train the girl properly. when she rang us up she was so cold with us and rushed us without saying goodbye or anything....rude! we brought it to her attention she had nothing kind to say besides rolling her eyes...unbelieveable! we went on a tuesday about 6pm.... beware she's not kind nor patient. read more

No pictures. Flavors are consistent with every other panda. I think the thing that shocked me most was that there were only two people working during lunch ours. Not that it was extremely busy, but one employee was cooking while the other had to plate and manage the till. It took 15 minutes just to get through the line. Service was very good. We were greeted as we walked up, and all the staff were very nice. We always enjoy our food at Panda Express. Daughter ordered the honey sesame chicken and chowmein. Finally after 3 months I came back to see & order same family meal. I was amazed the portion I have this time. I order fried rice, chow mein, orange chicken, beef broccoli & shrimp walnut. Service was phenomenal & splendid. Recommend this place for Asian food. read more

Service was really bad. I came to buy about 11:45 am and not busy. There was one Asian woman which I believe it could be a manager of this location was serving me. I ordered 2 Entrees. She was asking me if I would like chow mien or rice. I already told her Chowmien only. She might repeat a confirmation again, chowmien and rice? I said yes but her English was not good and fast. I heard Chowmien right? Then I said yes. Later when she was getting rice. I said no Chowmien only. She was so upset and she said she confirmed and I said yes. I felt really bad and need to do apologize which I didn't hear clearly. However, why it needs to be mad with that simple questions and not busy. Later, she didn't serve me nicely and just put the box and walked away like feeling upset with this. I am a fan of Panda but I will not support this location anymore. Panda Express - Enjoying some Panda Express! - Chinese Near Me - West Covina, California

This Panda Express, located inside the West Covina mall, in the back of the food court is where I had my latest dining exerience. The food here actually doesn't taste to bad, but why only two stars? When I picked a shrimp dish, the girl with those perfect portioned sized serving spoon, scooped up a spoon full of shrimp, and there was a shrimp hanging off the side of the spoon, and she started shaking the spoon to discard the one shrimp back into the pan, and she kept shaking and shaking, and shaking. I finally said to her, REALLY, is Panda Express going to go broke, because you gave me one extra shrimp....REALLY!! The amount of food that they give you is already perfectly underwhelming, but REALLY!! The shrimp fell back into the pan, which made her happy, but made me quite upset. And this is why I'm not a big fan of large food chain restaurant, to much corporate involvement. Corporate should teach their employees's, about customer satisfaction, "A happy customer is a returning customer!" I wasn't happy, so I won't be returning. read more

The girls that work here go out of their way to give you the smallest scoop of meat possible (she literally scooped the walnut shrimp back out of the bowl after giving a normal amount). This place in the West Covina mall use to be pretty good but the last two visits have been quite ugly tasting . Have ordered there chicken kun Pau yuck too salty and taste like fishy smell grosses you out. Also the fried rice is not fresh old and cold. And the visit before that was their premium dish the steak and shrimp dish yuck also taste very salty and fishy taste. I am a big fan of the restaurant and the other locations like Pomona the one by the 71 freeway target shopping center there the food is always fresh and delicious good tasting. This panda express has consistently provided dessicated, dried out food covered in sauce. The veggie side I picked instead of the noodles or rice looked like it had sat under a heat lamp for hours... and this is during the lunch rush. The orange chicken was dried out and then drenched in the sauce. The kung pao chicken was not spicey like at other pandas and the meat again was dry. Had this been a unique experience, I can write it off to a bad day, but these are experiences over several weekends, so I have to conclude that quality is not a concern at this panda... My mother is 80 years old , and her favorite place to eat is at the panda express in the west Covina fashion plaza mall. We are happy they opened back up! We have gone to other pandas but they do not compare to the one in the w.Covina mall. The manager theres name is Salena and she is very kind curious to my mother and me as well as everyone else while we were there! I love Panda Express! This location is especially nice. One of the girls that works here is really patient/polite with the customers (even the picky ones)! I am a frequent customer I work inside the mall so I eat here a lot and every time I get this cashier she always gives me a hard time about my mall employee discount even tho I have my badge on you can tell she hates giving it out she will roll her eyes and I come here a lot so she knows I work here . Today when I asked for my mall discount she said no sorry it's too late did you put in your card ? I must say, today I received the worst customer service!!! Let's start off waiting 10 min to be helped out, they had a long line with only one server and cashier. After I ordered my food I still had to wait what seem to be another 5-8 min to get cashed out. What really got me MAD was when in moved my tray toward the server yelled not to touch the tray. I was like What! I not trying steal the food, just trying to move things along. Very embarrassing as everyone looked at my son and I. Asked the cashier , if your process is for not the customer to move trays over , then why did the guest ahead of me move hers and held tray in hands when you cashed her out? Ok, Here's my theory, if you want chinese food, why are you not getting it at an authentic chinese restaurant? If you think Taco bell is authentic mexican food then there's something wrong with you. This place is exactly like any other asian fast food but the huge difference is its completely white washed. The food they serve here will probably only please non-asian people. For the price that you are paying, you could have had a better and authentic chinese food ANYWHERE else. Granted this restaurant isnt 100% horrible. It's just not authentic like they hype it up and claim it to be. Brocolli with beef, fried rice, orange chicken, thats about the typical stuff you would find at this place. Oh i love the fact that most of the front cashier workers are mostly asian people but the chefs in the back are full blood hispanics. Nothing wrong with that but shouldn't it be the other way around if you really want authentic asian food? Also, if you go to rowland heights or san gabriel valley area, you will find alot of asian restaurant that operates the same manner as Panda express, the only difference is this place is very UNGENEROUS with their portions. For a meal with 3 sides and a drink can run you up to almost $8. With $8 i could have easily gotten the same thing at an asian (pick 3 item) type deal for about $6 with a cheap boba drink. The difference other than price is they actually give more rather than minimize portions like Panda Express. Overall: If your hungry, don't want authentic chinese food or don't want to experience real chinese food, then this place is for you. But I cannot believe that the time I visited this location, I asked for the firecracker shrimp option (which costs an extra $1) and was only given 2 pieces of shrimp. I visited this location not too long ago. My Panda Express experiences are generally at least 3 star range. I like all of the authentic Chinese/Taiwanese/Hongkongese food but I also like to indulge in Panda Express food here and there. OK: Talk about left over cafeteria food @ this location. I should've walked away the moment I stepped into the restaurant. What was waiting for me was not the fresh and steamy food fit for pleasurable consumption. Just food with soaked-for-too-long-in-the-sauce look. It tasted like how it looked, stale. I've had stale Panda Express before, this location just topped it for me. I think it would have tasted good if it was fresh because the initial taste is actually quite good. But whoever the manager is over there is driving the customers away by keeping the food in the trays way too long. I mean, look at the reviews this location got so far.
