DO NOT make an online appointment with this shop, especially if you need your repair as soon as possible. Apparently the email they receive goes to their junk folder, and despite clearly being aware of the issue, no one can be bothered to check the junk mail. This means customers making appointments are not getting any communication, leaving them to assume they're good to go. Then you show up and they just turn you away, leaving you screwed over. After driving hundreds of miles, needing to head home, my two front tires had some serious damage. After calling every tire shop open in Ankeny and Altoona with no luck whatsoever, Scott worked with me to make sure I got in that day so I could get home safely. Went here based on a Valpak offer that came in the mail. Called the day before and scheduled an appointment for 3PM. My oil change didn't start for approximately 45 minutes to an hour after my scheduled time. Never was given any update or reason for the delay. However they did top off my empty windshield wiper reservoir which wasn't a stated feature of the $16.95 promotion so that was nice. There is a one dollar environmental fee. Oil they use is Kendall which isn't top shelf in my opinion but it's not a no name brand either. They didn't try to hard sell me on things I didn't need but did note my tires need replaced soon...something my roommate commented on the day before. I'll probably try them again next time I'm due for service. read more

It's hard to find a mechanic to restore a 25-year-old car. Dealers don't want to fix them because this takes time and they want throughput. After bad experiences with my Chevy dealer, I went to Graham, Over the years, they've fixed my ''91 Camaro for engine work, drive shaft replacement, alternator, speed sensor repair, instrument cluster replacement, alignment, and wiring problems. My favorite tire shop in Des Moines. Reasonable prices, and never try to sell you anything you don't need. If they tell me I need something I can trust that I do need it and they are not trying to pad a bill. I have never left here less than completely satisfied.
