It was Saturday morning and I drove in from out of town with a wobble in my front left tire. They got me right in and did a tire rotation and wheel balancing that solved the problem. Stopped in on my lunch break and even though they were busy, they offered to put my spare on so they could look at my tire and I could get back to work. My experience at Earl's Tire was excellent. I was recently passing through Des Moines on a business trip from Chicago to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Unfortunately, I began experiencing problems with a brand new set of tires I had purchased just the day before in Illinois from Mavis Tires & Brakes - a national discount Tire Shop. Upon arriving in Des Moines, I located Earl's Tire on Yelp and visited their Scott Ave location unannounced on an early Monday morning. The shop is clean and has a cool vibe for any tire and wheel enthusiast. I was met by Steven at the counter who was attentive to my problem as I needed immediate help in order to make my meeting on-time in South Dakota. Steven professionally assessed my situation and promptly had a technician put my car on the rack. Within 15 minutes they identified the problem and had me out of the shop within one hour! In addition, Steven documented the issues they found which I was able to use to get my money back from Mavis. I am grateful for Steven's professionalism, expertise, and willingness to help. Earl's Tire blew me away with their service and facility. One of my tires fell victim to a pothole and decided to run it over to Earl's. I was met by Earl and Jason. Super friendly and no BS. Looked at my tire immediately and did a test to see if it could be saved. The employees take pride in their work...which usually means the owner takes care of his staff (which is why I choose local businesses as much as possible). Jason went through my options clearly and happily answered my questions. The tire was fixed quickly for a fair price. From the outside, Earl's looks like you neighborhood "mom and pop" auto repair place. The inside was simply amazing, with televisions, pool table, booth and sitting area. They care about the comfort of their customers as they wait. I especially liked their shop cat, Ms. Flo 2. I pet her as I waiting and watched the news.
