It's important to note that even though they are described on Yelp as "IT Services & Computer Repair," they really specialize in doing this on a larger scale for businesses and such. I discovered the hard way while on a lengthy search for someone to clean up an ancient laptop of ours so we could pass it off to our nephews for their schooling. They are located on the second floor of an office building, which should have been my first clue. I asked the desk clerk how much it would cost to fix my issue and she immediately started asking for all my information - address, email, phone number. I had to cut her off and explain that I was just looking to see how much it was to restore one laptop to factory settings. She quoted me a number just south of $100 and told me I'd have to leave it there, maybe for a couple days. I said "thanks but no thanks." Turns out this is something they'd do at other places for half the cost, or anyone who could follow directions off the Internet could end up doing at home. If these guys come to your home, its $100/hour and the minimum is 2 hours of work, so minimum $200 for them to come to your home. Frankly, I think this is a ripoff, considering they came over for 15 minutes and charged us $200. Do yourself a favor, and take your computer to them directly. They're great at what they do, but EXPENSIVE when they come to your home. read more

While they didn't solve my at-home wifi issues immediately, they did a great job in setting up my physical network, and also then coming back twice afterwards when I had connectivity problems. Problems are now solved, and I appreciate them seeing my job through to the end to ensure that everything is/was 100% functional. We brought our Apple Laptop to be repaired. After getting an initial quote of $600, we ended up spending $900. The computer worked for 2 months, then it failed and we had to bring it back. It worked again for 2 more months then it failed again and when I brought it in that time they were unable to recreate the problem, so they informed me they could do nothing more for me. I asked for a refund of parts or labor charges, the owner refused. When I bought a new computer he did agree to put the new software from the old computer onto the new computer for no charge. When I asked how I could recoup some of the $900 he said there was nothing he could do other than try to sell the computer on line for me. He kept the computer for 3 more weeks then informed me there were no buyers, and that I should go on line to sell it for $400-$600. I did as he suggested, listed the computer on Ebay and received a bid for $380 and sent the computer out to the buyer. When the computer arrived, the buyer said it didn't work, same issues the computer had after it was "fixed" by Fast Break. I called again to ask what Fast Break could do to help me recoup some of the $900 I spent. They steadfastly refused to make any concession. Now the computer is in Pittsburgh with the Ebay buyer, I will receive no money for it AND Steven,the owner of Fast Break, refuses to speak to me, the client who paid him $900. So, in the end, apparently Steve made the Fast Break with my $900. I would never do business with a company whose owner is mean, disrespectful, unhelpful and in the end spiteful. The worst part is this computer is my 22 year old daughters, who paid a large chunk of the $900 with the hope she could have a functional computer. Make a Fast Break from this place. These guys were FANTASTIC! I needed my computer fixed quickly and correctly. Not only did they do a great job, they exceeded my expectations. I brought my computer in for a simple virus removal. Within two hours of dropping it off, they had it diagnosed and recommended some additional items which I had no idea I needed. They removed all the virus's off my computer and restored some lost files I was in desperate need of. They set me up with a great back up service since I had nothing. I had no idea the importance of having a daily backup until they explained that had the virus been any worse, I would've ran the risk of losing all my data. Now my computer backs up daily to a server. My computer was running Windows 7 with 1gb of memory. They not only upgraded my memory for a great price, but they also tweaked my windows 7 to operate A LOT faster. Overall, this was some of the best customer service I have received, EVER. My computers speed increased by at least 60 percent because of these guys. After their fantastic home service, I brought them into my business to see what they could do for us. They took our business to the next level. After a great consult, they set us up with a server, allowing us to run our email through it. It was great knowing that the server was maintaining all our important information securely and backing it up daily. Our original IT guys had our office setup in a way that was not HIPAA compliant, and they did NOT tell us that. Fast Break Tech came in and got us completely secured and we are now in full HIPAA compliance. The effort level of Fast Break Tech is so great I'm having a hard time finding the words to express it. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I am that happy and feel that satisfied. I have really never experienced customer service at this level and I must say that everywhere I go, I still have yet to find someone more concerned and in touch with my needs.
