I've seen this place for years but never went in until today. Just went on a whim because they were close & mom needed her glasses adjusted. First impression? It's...eccentric. From the white tuxedo coat uniforms to the red roped entry and piano in the corner. It also seems very crowded inside (see: piano). The lady that helped us was very friendly and helped explain the sizing of glasses (why doesn't every glasses place talk about this?!). They were able to adjust the hook on the arms to make the arms longer and mom says they fit perfect now! Now that I'm home with my own glasses on, I look at the size & discover I probably need to have them do the same thing! At least now I know where to go! read more

I went in today and glad to leave minutes later. The older guy receptionist was incredibly friendly on the phone, but when I got there, he was very rude, didn't seem to care to help explain anything and displayed frustration as I asked him questions. I guess when he found out I was black his attitude completely changed. Also, the optometrist was literally sleeping right where the customers can see him. I was not comfortable giving my money to this company. Lots of unprofessionalism. Im not saying they wouldn't have done a wonderful job, but the customer service was trash. I was NOT shopping for glasses but rather was on my way to a candy shop. Saw this place while stopped at a light and because of their high-end names that I saw trough the window I pulled over and went inside to take a peek. It was there that I was greeted by a specialist by the name of Trey, who was fabulous and completely gave me the best recommendations!! Felt like first class service and he even had it arranged to receive my glasses within a few hours since I am leaving out of town. I will definitely be back! Back when I had glasses, this was my favorite place to get designer frames for not the design price tag. Their staff was friendly and eager to help locate the right style of frame to fit my face. They had a wide arrange of designer and artist frames and were constantly changing their inventory so I didn't have to worry about someone else wearing the same style. They were able to fill my large prescription without me having to have coke bottle lenses. It took about a week for me to get my frames and they were wonderful! Eye exam: I'm not one to write reviews but I feel like it must be said that the older gentleman at the front desk (not sure if he's an owner) but he has the worst customer service skills I've ever had to deal with. It wasn't just me, I saw how he interacted with other patients... uninterested and pretentious. When I asked questions about the my insurance coverage and the eye dilation he treated me like an idiot. I do have to speak kindly to the doctor and the other younger gentleman at the front desk. They were welcoming and answered questions that I had. I was a first time patient and will not be returning. Hopefully this can be brought to his attention. read more

I really wanted to give this place a chance because the selection is awesome. I walked in the door, got a quick hello and wandered around for ten minutes because I noticed the front desk guy was helping out a couple (who were gloating that they bought more than 10 frames from there before). This is where it gets bad: Another employee comes from behind the desk, looks at me, I look at her, she says nothing and focuses her attention on the couple even though the guy is already helping them out. I don't care if they're your favorite customers because they bought most of your mercandise before but it was very rude to just be ignored like that. Especially already wandering around the store for awhile and not even getting a "We'll be with you shortly" Customer service needs to be improved here, otherwise I would've love to stay and check out more of the options. read more

OMG You get 50% discount if you buy 2 or more pairs, but they don't even know, nor list the retail price, so after "discount" the frames are $400. When I asked who are the company who manufactures them, as I don't know this brand and can't find them online, a gay guy with facial surgery and a taupe approached me. He was extremely rude and said if I don't want them, I don't need to buy from him as his rich enough. He mocked my Jeep wrangler and said I can't afford his business, lol. I am a customer service professional and the people at Fashion Optical do not have customer service in mind. I DO NOT CARE what other reviews state. I happen to work just a building or two over and I have visited them repeatedly and in spite of giving them the benefit of the doubt, they continue to succeed in utter failure in the customer service department. This location apparently lacks the motivation and SOLID Leadership that it requires to make the customer service experience more welcoming. I DO NOT RECOMMEND even setting foot through the door. I don't get the one or two bad reviews here - this place is awesome. Yes, it's flashy and loud, but that's part of what makes it fabulous. Going to the eye doctor sucks and is boring, but not at Fashion Optical. First, let's be clear that I am ssssoooo not the target demographic of Fashion Optical. I'm a broke-ass 20something and I was surrounded by Turtle Creek socialites discussing their black-tie schedules. This experience could have been really uncomfortable and the staff could have made that even worse by ignoring me. Elena helped me, and she was awesome. She picked out frames that she thought would work for me and helped me narrow down to my final choice, which is fabulous, BTW. I didn't see Dr. Atwood, I saw Dr. Chao. He was very thorough and gave me an excellent exam. I did see Dr. Atwood running around the optical side trying to help his customers, and I thought that was particularly cool. All in all, I won't be going to another optical place. I loved the atmosphere (the music can be a little much, but it's fun.) and got excellent service. Now I just can't wait to pick up my glasses, which are ready today!! read more

Good selection of cool eyeglasses; however, the lens service is really beyond terrible. I bought a $350+ pair of glasses and had $300+ lenses installed; however, when I first got them one of the lenses was covered in very noticeable glue. The lens began wobbling in the frame after a week; I brought it in to be fixed and they just glued it in again, again leaving glue all over the exposed sides of the lens. After almost exactly one month (after the warranty period had expired), the lens fell out completely and got badly scratched on the pavement when it fell. I brought it in, and again, they just glued it back in place, leaving goopy glue marks all over the lens. Though I mentioned the scratches and the glue marks, nobody on staff offered any solution to these problems. Two weeks later, the lens fell out a THIRD time. I brought it to Target optical (closer to my home) to ask them to quickly glue it back in. However, they told me that literally -no- eyeglass place should use glue on lenses; they should be cut exactly to fit the frame and glue also damages the lenses. Target didn't even -have- lens glue because it's such a frowned-upon practice in the optical world. I also went to an America's Best and they told me the exact same thing. Upon learning this, I drove the hour and a half back to Fashion Optical and asked that they re-cut my lens to fit the frame. They declined to do so since the warranty period had ended, but happily glooped glue all over the lens so that it would stay in place. Again, I mentioned the scratches on the lens, which would not have happened if the lens had been properly cut, but the staff declined to help me with this issue. Yet again, the lens fell out after only a week. On this FOURTH time the lens fell out, the lens chipped on the side. Now I can't get it to fit back in the frame at all, plus the chip (and scratches from before) are visible. I should note that I'm not being rough on these glasses; I'm a lawyer and sit at a desk all day. I also don't wear these in the shower or when exercising. The glue wears out and the lens falls out while I'm doing totally innocuous, low-impact activities, literally like WALKING or sitting at my desk. The scratches and chip are ONLY on the lens that keeps falling out; the other lens is in perfect condition. It appears to have been cut correctly as no glue was used on the other lens. I spent $650 on these damn glasses, and because the staff could not properly cut and install a lens without using glue (which they are not supposed to use on lenses in the first place), because the glue appears to wear out after a week or so, and because the staff refuses to correct their mistake, my $300+ lenses are totally ruined. I don't know what to do other than bring them to a different optical place and have new people install the lenses. Rather than spend another $300+, I just bought a pair online for $100. This was a huge waste of $650 (plus the $100 replacement pair) and lots and lots of time driving to Dallas and uselessly begging the braindead people who work at Fashion Optical to help me. Go ahead and use this place to buy frames, but don't let them install lenses!!! read more

Loved this place! They have a fantastic selection of stylish eye glasses. The gentlemen working there take care of every detail. I went in on a friend's recommendation & as I was walking in I was immediately greeted by all the staff. Stevan helped me pick out my frames & I saw the ones I wanted right away. He still helped me look for other options but we agreed the first pair looked the best. Stevan quickly helped me write up my order, gave me advice on what type of lens add ons I needed (his guidance was right on with what I've received from other places, so he wasn't on his own tangent). I even got a glass of champagne while he wrote up my order & a bottle of water to go. Not necessary, but for me, a very nice amenity :). The frames are pricey, you can def. get cheaper elsewhere... however their assortment of fashionable styles & the customer service makes it worth it for me. Plus these guys know what looks good on you & are very helpful at picking out the right frame for your face. read more

Just had my eyes checked at the Optometrist here. The staff was welcoming and friendly, the wait was almost non-existent and the cost for a new script for both contacts and glasses was reasonable at $120. I thought the Optometrist felt a little high-strung, I wouldn't exactly call him warm, but he was friendly, fast (But not in a way that I felt like he was trying to rush me out, just experienced at his job) and thorough. I was very happy and would recommend him to most of my friends and family, although I don't know that I would to someone that was nervous about the whole experience of going to an Optometrist but as someone that is a veteran of the whole experience I appreciated the efficiency of the whole process. I may be wrong though, for all I know if someone appeared nervous and new about the process he might have approached it differently, I just needed a new prescription for the same contacts that I have worn for years and was thrilled to be in and out quickly and did not want or need any handholding. read more

I really really wanted to love this place...I had my first appointment in 2016, and was disappointed with the cleanliness of the examination room. There was clutter everywhere and there was barely enough space on the counter in the bathroom for me to change out my contacts. Despite this, I saw Dr. Chao and he was delightful. I was happy with my eye examination, and happy with the help I got to look for frames (even though I couldn't afford the pair I wanted). I did, however, have to point out to the staff that there was a sticky substance all over their floor in the eye-ware showroom. Despite all of this, I was planning on coming back for my 2017 examination. I knew the appointment time I booked back in 2016 was in March at some point, but I couldn't remember what day/time it was. That brings me to this weekend... On Saturday, my apparent appointment time, I got a call from the office (the owner was speaking, not sure which one), and he asked me if I was coming to my 1:00pm appt. It was now 1:05, and I informed him that I wouldn't be able to make it as I forgot and was not given a courtesy reminder as is the custom with may doctor's offices. He then proceeded to SHAME me...SHAME me for not remembering my appointment, stating that "they don't make courtesy calls as they figure adults can keep track of their appointments." Yes, very true, but I'm sorry, what?!?! I was absolutely appalled that he was shaming me for not remembering my appointment and proceeded to tell him that that was NOT bleeping appropriate to treat a customer that way, I am an adult and can keep track of my appointments, but occasionally I need a reminder, like any human being. And he hung up on me. I called back to speak with that person's manager only to find out that he is the owner, and he hung up on me AGAIN. What customer service. I will be taking my business elsewhere next time. Very, very unprofessional. read more

I paid $700.06 for glasses on 1/5/12 and was told I would have them in about 3 days. It has now been 16 days and no glasses. Store mgr Mr. Perez advised no refunds and was very rude. I would never recommend spending your money there. Thank goodness I paid with a credit card and disputed the charge because this place is a rip off. They first said the frames I picked were hard for the lens to stay in place and they had to have the factory work on them...my question is why are you selling me something at this price if it is not high quality? I never took delivery of my glasses, how am I getting a refund when you never even delivered the product as promised. read more

Read the yelp reviews, and had high hopes for this place... Meh. I went in for an eye exam plus contacts. I have a vision plan through work, and wanted to get a free exam and use my benefit for contacts. The exam was okay. Dr. Chao did a thorough job, and was easy to talk to. he was the highlight. But, I had a 30 minute wait after I showed up on time for my appointment, and his assistant isn't going to win any customer service rewards. There are also a ton of extra charges for small parts of the exam that aren't covered by the insurance. I guess that's how they make their money. They disclosed SOME of these charges before I agreed, but (surprise!) I had to pay an extra $20 for my exam b/c I have astigmatism. Don't buy contacts here. They have a huge markup on contact lenses. They charge $50+ for a box the lenses I use. Same lenses are available through multiple web-based resellers for $25, and generally go for $30-35 at retailers. If you do have insurance, check with your company before going in - make sure you understand how your benefits work - the assistant has her own beliefs, and in my case, and tried to convince me that I had to buy my contacts at their store on that day (with their absurd prices) - she's wrong. Big picture - they're no different than most overpriced optical stores out there, but I can't think of any reason to go back there. Dr. Caho was good, but the rest of the experience leaves a lot to be desired. read more
