This is my go-to bar. If it's a weeknight and my girls and I want to go out for a couple drinks....we end up at Farringtons. If it's a weekend and we've been barhopping...we end up at Farringtons. The reasons I like so much: Plenty of parking Starbucks right there A bunch of flatscreens (great for watching games) Pool tables & Dartboard Clean & maintained bathrooms and of course.... the fact that you can go grub down on some Nations at the end of your night. This is a chill place to go to, but NOT my first choice. I live literally walking distance away from this bar and I've seen all the negative sides of this bar. First of all, there's at least three to six police cars parked in shopping center. Yeah it's fine to have them there just in case but it's an overload. Most of the time the police officers are at the Starbucks getting free coffee. They look lazy to me, because they could be doing more than just parked at a shopping center when there's surveillance cameras everywhere. The Safeway closes early next to the bar over the weekend due to drunk people vandalizing the store or stealing items. The Safeway is losing money because of all the people that can't hold their liquor. The nations is the only thing that stays open in the shopping center late over the weekends. I have so much respect for them because they get all the crazy people at late hours. Also, the drunk people starting fights and being obnoxiously loud is worse than downtown walnut creek. The only positive thing I can say about this topic is the pleasant hill cops aren't complete assholes like the walnut creek ones. On a positive note, you can sing karaoke. Also there's lots of chairs around the karaoke area to have a large audience if wanted. Yes you can play pool and it's very cheap to play. The size of the bar is very small. Many times I feel as if I'm being cramped in one spot and there's not enough bartenders on staff all the time I'm there. Safe to say, I only go there on the weekdays! read more

Give up completely on this place. I was in there with a couple of friends about 8pm on a Friday night having cocktails. A bouncer came up to us and said he had to take our table and the ones next to us so they could put them by the front door, mind you there were ten people in the place and 5 were with me, he said that when it gets busy the people who go outside to smoke need something to put their drinks on. I shit you not this is what he said to us then made us pick up our drinks off the table and he took it and the ones next to it. insanely rude and there was no one in the bar who are they kidding? Turns out this is a regular policy they have. We left and spent lots of money elsewhere! OLD REVIEW: Been back a couple of times since getting a note from the owner to give it another try, it's all new and looks great. Pool tables are great and the back room looks really nice, the new bar is great, very roomy. During the week I have no complaints, quick service a good drink and a nice atmosphere. I tried twice to go in during Sunday football, BIG mistake. I love football, I have no problem with cheering for your team and having a good time but you do not have to take over the place. Two Sundays in a row I walked out after one drink because of what seems to be the same 4 Raider fans ( I am a Raider fan also) who stand in the isle and scream as loud as they can and chant as loud as they can even when it's on a commercial. I complained to the bartender and she just said "yeah they get out of control" and walked away. It's good for an after work drink and a Friday night cocktail, they have made alot of improvements but I would avoid Sundays unless your into swearing, blathering idoits that scream into the back of your head all day. read more

I rate this place only 2 stars. Today this place sucked. The Dj was so old and wrinkled. He played a combination of Spice 1 and Mc hammer and some other junk. I love Coronas but for some reason the corona I got tasted horrible. We got to play darts but the darts fell right of the dart board. They just didn't stick cause the dart board was to worn out. We played pool but the 8 ball was missing so we used a second striped 10 and we called it the 8 ball. The wait at the bar was FOREVER for just 1 beer. Some guy farted next to us and left his stench right next to us. I almost puked. Some girl puked in a glass cup and left it there. That was my experience that night. read more

Went to Farrington's for a friend's birthday party. Ended up having a very bad experience. As a designated driver, I opened a tab and ordered a Sprite for myself and a jack & coke for my friend. Long story short, they charged my card $20 and misplaced it. When I attempted to try to get it back again the following day (hoped they had found it), the woman that spoke to me, accused me of cashing out and was very rude, even though I was speaking to her politely! read more

I have no idea about the bar but I was denied entry after showing my german passport because the bouncer/manager told me he can't take it. Never heard of this place or even knew there was a bar in the area until my brother *DJ FOX* worked here on a Friday night to spin. This place seems very chill and laid back. They have lots of pool tables on one side, the dance floor on the opposite side, and the bar right in the middle of it all. I'm sure I'll definitely be back here but only if my brother is spinning since he played all the good music that night and got the whole place packed with people dancing everywhere! There is a dj that works on Friday nights who I need to check out as well since he was really nice and I believe he plays hip hop on those nights. read more

As a miserably failed social experiment, I moved to Pleasant Hill from San Francisco and Farrington's happens to be the closest place to my house to have a drink. I'd have to say first that I agree with all of the reviews, both good and bad. This place is a mixed bag to be sure. During the week, it's your typical local dive bar, full of regulars. Yes, I also asked one of the bartenders to find a hockey game for me on one of the televisions, and yes, she did tell me she didn't know how to change the channel. I've met a few characters in here though which has generated a story or two. Weekends are another story. You pay $5 to get in, and I have to show my ID to a guy my son's age(though 4 times his size) but then get a drink thing, which is pretty much a wash. Try as I might, I just can't figure the logic in it, except that I guess this is their version of a one drink minimum? (One drink on the weekends? Please... you should see how shitfaced people get in this place!) I found a spot at the bar to get a beer and some pimple faced kid, about 21 with a half-sideways baseball hat on steps up to me and says I'm too close to his (tweeker-looking) "lady". Oh my god. I usually don't make it past 10:00 on the weekends here. (This is when the heavy metal karaoke gets out of control... yes, karaoke!) It's a shame that a cab home from SF costs $150.00 While I've seen the cops coming in looking for trouble, I haven't seen any of the fights, but I imagine why there's one security guy for every 10 people there. Other than the cranky, non-channel changing bartender, who can actually be nice at times if you catch her on the right day (or time of the month) the bartenders here are mostly pretty cool. I feel for them having to make some of the drinks they do with 6 or 7 ingredients, all topped by some kind of fruit. Can't wait until my lease expires! read more

So my experience automatically changed from a good one to "I'm not coming back to this place again." Mr Hose, the security guy accused me of carrying a gun and patted me down after I just went back to my car to have a cigarette. These were his exact words And he was quite blunt "you might be carrying a gun cause you look suspicious, you might be up to something." Why again? Cause I'm brown skinned, middle eastern looking? Talk about profiling. And besides, why would you even talk to a customer like that? Most importantly a regular one. I have worked in Phill for at least 7 years, and this is my 1st time I stopped by for a drink. I usually refer people over here, but to actually grab a beverage, never. At least, not until the other night. We had made a late night venture into that Burger place (Nations), for some grub. Unfortunately it was a Sunday night and the place was packed. We ordered our food, and then went to Farringtons next door to wet our whistle. There was a DJ and some people on the small dance floor. The place was larger than I expected and they had Pool Tables, Darts, and that Saw dust game with pucks. (Shuffle board?) The bartender was friendly and got us our drinks quickly. I will be here next time I want to watch the next Sports Championship because they have Flat Screens all over the place. Definitely not what I was expecting and luckily I did not bump into any Raider fans. Sorry guys if you are fan of the Silver and Black. read more

Walked in country music was playing..old men sitting at the bar..the place was ok. Nothing really special. There was one bartender..wasnt to busy..4 pool tables..it looked ok. We went to the side of the bar to the pool tables and noticed there was old broken theatre chairs..everything was dusty on that side of the bar and outdated!!. Every pool table was at least missing one or two balls. Their so called bar food isnt done there u place an order out of their collection of menus and they deliver to farrington's. I used to come here almost every weekend with my buddies but just got tired of the same service. The security here is a bit rude but I guess your supposed to act tough when your a security guard. The bartenders never seem to make the drinks right. The men's bathroom always smells like shit (even on the weekdays). People do tend to get more sloppy here then at other bars/clubs in the area. IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE CRAP THEN SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! We stopped here after a nice dinner downtown at Havana's (which was amazing). My husband and I were first to the door where 2 shady red neck looking guys were waiting to ID us. Our friends who came with us were waiting behind us to be ID'ed. I've never been to Ferrington's before, it appears from the outside to be a standard strip mall bar. Nothing special here but since our friends live around the corner we thought we'd stop in to have a drink. How bad could it be, right? We were greeted by the first shady looking guy and asked for ID's and a $5.00 cover charge. My husband preceded to ask "what's the 5 dollar cover for? Is there a band?" He was immediately told to "go away". They didn't even answer the question. My husband responded with "You have to be kidding me, I have a right to ask what I'm getting for my money." Again, they told him "you're not getting in". My husband then left and went to the car. I was so dumb founded I couldn't believe it. So I started questioning the bouncer as to why he didn't answer the question and instead just turned us away. To which he responded that me and my girlfriend could still come in. The other bouncer who was sitting on a railing the whole time (earning his pay obviously) then lies to my face and tells me he answered my husband and told him it was for Karaoke and a DJ. To which I responded that "I haven't heard you say a word before now", he just shrugged his shoulders. He must be a soft talker, which you'd never guess by looking at him. I asked to go in to speak with the manager of the place. Soft talker points to the other bouncer who just told my husband to leave and snickers and says "he's the manager". If that's how the manager treats customers then I'll spend my money else where. After reading all the reviews it's obvious that this is a place for college kids only. No self respecting adult would spend their money here. We won't be back, there are plenty of other bars around town that respect their patrons. I'd avoid this establishment at all costs! read more

Man do I love this sports bar, so many tv's and cheap drinks and a really fun atmosphere. There's pool, darts and my favorite shuffleboard! You can order food from any of the neighboring food joints and they will deliver it right there. The tv's have all sports on so you can watch any game anytime, its awesome! read more

Farringtons bouncers: incompetent Basically this guy tries to fight me tonight. Because of the shirt I was wearing. It took extreme willpower to not let this fool catch a fade.. But he was a local and the bouncers knew him. I was yelled at and escorted to the street by the bouncers. I couldn't reason with them whatsoever (it was last call, I don't care about another drink I just don't want a bad rep) but they said I was causing a ruckus. One bouncer even said to the other to "get em bro". I would've loved to see that. They reasoned with me saying they took care of the other guy.. and me, and my friend, were causing a problem. We're causing a problem because someone advanced on me, saying "hold my glasses I'm gonna fuck this guy up" and then I was hassled. It's just straight up garbage. I didn't throw a punch. I wanted the bouncers to do their job and protect me. Anyways, kudos to the farringtons bar. Yall got some sexy bartenders. But the bouncers... I've been a bouncer before. Love this dive bar with a nice remodel. The yucky carpet is gone and the place looks amazing. I loved going here after work and having a "tall boy PBR" what a deal. The bartenders are friendly and attentive and the owner is a doll. She stopped by the table one day to ask what we thought of the remodel. We told her we liked it and it made the place a little nicer. If you are in to dive bars with sports everywhere, a sweet juke box, awesome service and ice cold beer, this is the place to go in p hill. read more

Not bad for a little bar in safeway parkinglot. Pool tables, shuffleboard, darts, good drinks, friendly staff. Also they have this video photo hunt game that shows boobies.
