From the very first my dad bought Ilocos empanadas for us, it immediately became one of my favorite Pinoy "snacks". I became hooked. The problem was, I never saw it again, for many years... until recently. I'm so thankful that Fariñas decided to step it up and expand its restaurant to many cities around the metro including Makati.
They make their empanadas as good as anyone can - the orange, deep fried batter with egg, toge and longganisa inside. Add some sukang Ilocos and you have yourself some major comfort food. They also have other empanadas that have additional ingredients like cheese or bagnet. They're all good.
They also have other things to order, like pancit and rice meals. I've always wanted to try them, but how can you pass up an empanada? One last thing, don't ever mistake this for its boring brother, the one that's more of a savory pastry with chicken inside. read more
