id say the best buffet in manila for me! the best one in terms of taste, affordability, and vibe. at first glance, the buffet area isn't big but there is really so many GOOD options in every mini section. and the important thing: they all taste good and cooked perfectly! inconsistency in buffets are expected but in this case perhaps the fact that it isn't a big buffet has helped the chefs and cooks perfect every food item they offer. they have crab and shrimp (decent size!! not small), lechon, steak, bagnet, tapa (so good one of my favs!), dimsum, etc. drinks like soda and even gulaman and other juuces are included as well! i enjoyed everything (except the paella since the rice was overcooked and tasted like chinese sticky rice instead). servers were nice and attentive too. and the place is a traditional old filipino house and is decorated like so so it gives off very comfortable and homey vibes. i recommend this to locals and foreigners as you really get a good experience of great filipino food!

My aunt took us to lunch here while we were visiting the Philippines. An old Spanish colonial home has been converted into an all you can eat Filipino restaurant! I personally know nothing about Chef Laudico, but I do know that I enjoyed this buffet more than any of the other all you can eat places my family visited in the Philippines. They had many well executed examples of Filipino cuisine. And i also had lechon baka (roasted calf) for the first time. More importantly, dessert included a full halo halo bar, along with soft serve ube ice cream, something people in NYC are lining up for at Soft Swerve in NYC. The staff was polite and friendly. My birthday had been a few days before our visit, so my family decided to embarrass me by telling them. They proceeded to sing me some birthday songs which were pretty funny and entertaining. I enjoyed the meal and service overall

My first time at Chef Laudico Guevarra's restaurant. I've been meaning to coming here based on the hype in YouTube. Service - it's a buffet but they are attentive in clearing your used plates. Place - the ambience is excellent! They have garden outside which is great for special occasion like wedding and such... the seating arrangement inside is really crowded and its really tight just to get out of your chair. As if they don't want you to go back and get some more foods. I know they trying to maximize the space but apparently this is not a good way. Food - the have few selections but not that much. The food is so so nothing to go crazy about. They have the real lechon and pork belly lechon which I ate most! They have few choices of drinks other than sodas which is a plus... though they are a tad slow in replenishing their dishes... Price - the price is decent with the food that they are offering. I'll go back if someone will treat me there but to go there on a free will... maybe not. I would recommend it though for special occasions and a light date. But don't expect too much on the food though.

Dat buffet lyfe!

Wooing someone but you don't want to give up dat buffet lyfe? ;-) Chef Laudico Guevarra has over 50 dishes to entice you and your loved one (definitely a nice place to take a date!) or perhaps a small group of friends. After being escorted to your seats, drink orders taken, you can now stuff yourselves until you can't breathe anymore. The buffet area can feel a bit cramped since the space is long and narrow instead of wide. But stations are clearly divided into apps, soups, main dishes, roast/carving station and dessert station. To prove that Filipinos love their sweets, the dessert station takes up the whole right side of the buffet area. Go crazy and personalize your halo-halo, get some palitaw, cupcakes, sticky rice desserts and fresh fruit juices. I personally don't have much of a sweet tooth, so I filled up on the seafood offerings! they have fried crabs (so tiny, you can just pop em in your mouth!), baked mussles with cream cheese and salt n pepper shrimp. My main dish favorites include bagoong rice, chicken inasal, kare kare, pinakbet, escabeche ... ok, ok! maybe a little bit of everything. I'm telling you, it's all about dat buffet lyfe :0 Make sure to call for rezzies in advance especially on the weekends. This place is immensely popular since Chef Laudico is one of the more popular names in the Filipino culinary industry. Also, the charming 1920's heritage house setting reminiscent of the Spanish Colonial times adds to the beauty of dining here. Another beautiful thing about buffets? two meals for the price of one! You can definitely skip breakfast tomorrow.

Carrot cake, butterscotch, pudding, champorado, halo-halo, pichi-pichi, chocolate crinkles, rhum balls... well enough for your sweet tooth

I rate it as 5 because I personally enjoy a buffet that caters well to all Filipino families. I went on a Sunday for a baptismal reception and it was just perfect. I enjoyed the food very much and I must compliment how well they manage the buffet. Food is always replenished (it may seem that they'll never run out of food even with so many hungry guests) I've indulged on about 75% of the food options. There are just so plenty! I am thankful there was plenty of flavorful lechon (plus crispy skin) and kare-kare. Those two alone would make any Pinoy jump with delight. I already imagined how our balikbayans would enjoy spending time with their families here. Its perfect for a family-oriented occassion! It's also a big plus that the staff are very good too. Attentive and courteous!

I first heard of Chef Laudico's name in a television commercial a few years back when he collaborated with a giant ice cream manufacturer to make a special limited edition flavor. The sophisticated taste and texture was unlike any I've ever tasted during that time. And to think it was mass produced! Guevarra's lived up to the level of excellence expected from being connected to Chef Laudico. The price for the buffet is relatively affordable but the dishes are flavorful and well made (the beef tapa is heavenly). There's a milk tea station which was a nice treat for milk tea fans (such as myself), and a soft serve ice cream machine. It doesn't matter if your stomach's already full. You cannot pass up on this delicious chocolate ice cream. One thing I love about Guevarra's is the fact that it looks like a classic Filipino ancestral home, traditional Spanish architecture, complete with a charming garden and beautiful art pieces that give you a feeling of nostalgia. As I was enjoying my food, I thought about the original occupants of the house in the 1940's and I imagined them laughing, sharing stories and dining as a family, just as we were at present. But in the past, they were not bothered by smartphones and tablets (nothing wrong with gadgets per se). Tip: ask for the Brazo de Mercedes shots (served upon request)

Chef Laudico Guevarra is one of the biggest names in the local culinary industry. I was very excited to try out his joint in San Juan because I have heard a lot of good things about the place - a Filipino-style buffet that reminds you of home in a setting that also reminds you of the old ancestral houses where you spent your childhood in. The price of the buffet dinner is also pretty attractive - at P399 for a weeknight all-you-can-eat meal with the family, it's not bad. Though my experience with the food wasn't particularly bad, it wasn't that memorable either. I remember having a bit of each of the dishes, and it was all very unremarkable. I thought the food was generally mediocre - a shame, really since the place itself is named after one of the more celebrated chefs in the country. You would think that you would have a blast, but the food was just lackluster. The quality is average at best, but what I think is the selling point of the buffet is that they replenish it really quickly. The place is also good if you have a big group, as they have long tables and even private rooms that can accommodate your party. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon, though.

Great food and service at a great price. Heard about this from Tim Lee on YouTube. Ambiance is great, set in an old large home.
