03/04/25 - Criostomo Filipino food in Newport Mall. We met my wives 2 friends & their husbands for lunch. The food is good but very slow service. We had a number of Filipino dishes to be shared. Starting w/crispy pata probably my favorite dish, squid in black ink, lechon pinakebet (sp?)& pork sinagang. All good food

Great food, atmosphere and service. There's nothing to complain about. My favorite item were the fish balls and cheesy corn. The crispy pata were also delicious. The staff was friendly and quick to attend to you.

Everything was good. Staff was hospitable and quick to attend to you. I ordered all my favorite Filipino dishes and they did not disappoint. Love the mango with shrimp paste for appetizer. Restaurant is inside a mall. Very clean. I recommend this restaurant.

Very good selection of Filipino foods. Bit pricier than similar restaurants and smaller portions. Overall enjoyed the place.

We were exploring the mall and it was our last night in the Philippines. We wanted to have one last hoorah of Philippine cuisine, and we saw this place. It was so great! The staff are friendly and work as a team. The menu is filled with a lot of Filipino dishes. I am a fan of sago, and theirs were great! No burnt sugar taste in the syrup. The skewers has a note in the menu, "world famous" so we had to try. And there is a legit reason it is considered world famous! It was so good and tender! I enjoyed my lechon kawali and the liang is spinach stewed in coconut milk. It was so good! Highly recommend this place!

Yea it's on the 2nd floor so it's a bit of a walk but the servers were attendant, ambience was ok due to foot traffic. But wow the bangus was cooked to perfection, the bulalo was divine and the lechon Laing was just out of this world! It's better then yo momma's cookin'! Definitely a place you want to come back to

    Bad quality kinilaw

The head chef in North Vertis served poor-quality food. The Kinilaw we ordered had dark gray, gummy tuna from being soaked too long in vinegar, and the coconut milk had solidified, indicating it was pre-prepared for too long. When we complained, a staff member explained the discoloration was due to the vinegar, which we found unacceptable for a head chef's standard. The adobong pusit was overly sweet, almost like dessert. All the restaurant staff appeared grumpy, didn't smile, and unfriendly.

Pretty good filipino restaurant with great desserts! Can get pretty busy since it's the first restaurant you see walking in from the parking garage. There's alot to choose from and all of it was pleasant, but nothing that really separated it from anything else I've eaten. The complimentary corn-nuts were actually pretty good though, and you're able to order them separately in bottles. Highly recommend!

Really loved the food and service here. The dining area is very clean and the wait staff is attentive. The food is delicious and authentic. We had: Tinapa at Salted Egg Pandan Plain Rice Bella Bandida Jangling com Selo Cerventes All were very good. Give them a try.

Friends recommended this place for lunch, and my taste buds couldn't thank them enough! Delicious and authentic Filipino food. No matter how many times I've tried dishes from restaurants with classic Filipino cuisine, there's always a dish or two that will be new to me. I let my friends do the ordering, and everything was terrific. A few dishes were slightly better than others, but I enjoyed them all. It's nice when dining with a group so you can enjoy family-style and try more than a couple of items. A few of the dishes we tried and enjoyed (from what I remember)... * Paella Negra - a Spanish rice dish with adobong pusit (squid) & pork * Sandoval - sizzling chorizo * Leandro - Laing (taro leaves cooked in coconut milk & chilies) with lechon kawali * Garlic Rice A lady was selling some bottled fish and other assortments. We bought three different jars with marinated fish to enjoy later in the day with rice--salty and fishy goodness. The decor is traditional Filipino yet elegant with modern touches. Service was friendly and attentive.

Highly recommended by someone BUT it was disappointing. Total rating for what we ate: 6/10. We ordered Joaquin, liwayway, San Gabriel. Kilawin with pork, calamari and tinapa. Service rating was only 4/10. Servers doesn't seem to be interested in taking our orders. They seem to be selective on who they will be friendly with. They're quick in giving us the bill and waiting to get paid. With all the restaurants around I won't be coming back to this one. :(

Crispy Pata- The star of the meal and I would challenge you to find a place that does it better. This place does this one dish better Manam's, Max's, Gilligan's, etc... They sous vide their crispy pata which makes it moist whereas traditionally when it is boiled and then fried, the meat edges end up dried out/over fried in spots. This was tender and juicy all over with chip crisp skin! Oyster sisig- we fell in love with this dish in Boracay at Two Seasons Hotel which still holds the title for best version. Lumu's version is Different but still good. They bread their oysters then bring it out in the sizzling plate with the Mayo/aioli sauce served with rice. Great sisig flavor. Lumpia- solid. Halo Halo - it was huge! Monstrous big with great ingredients for the price. My only complaint was the ice wasn't as finely shaved so it ended up clumping a lot. But for the value and quality of ingredients, it was great! Quality is a notch above Max's but not at the level of the Shangri La or even some of the upscale restaurants. Still solid tho and costs way less. Service was great per usual in Philippines

It was an exceptionally hot day, so when we stopped by here, it was nice and cool inside. An amazing way to escape the heat at Greenbelt. We got seated and we loved everything that we ordered. From what I remember, we got some drinks, including some ube shakes with sago, some wine. Food-wise, we got the pancit palabok, crispy patis wings, lumpia, the overloaded garlicky chicken and adobo pork belly, sisig, the watermelon sinigang and I can't remember what else. Anyhow, the watermelon sinigang was excellent. And when the pancit palabok came out, they actually poured the sauce onto the noodles and it felt like I was watching a cooking show with a finale!
