Fantasy Nails - Happy with my nails. - Nail Salons Near Me - Van Nuys, California

Susan is such a sweet lady and talented nail tech! Super happy and will be back! Their prices are great too!

They do great work and are sooo sweet, but the older lady is soooo slow. It takes 2 hours for a FILL. Not joking, every time. I think they either need to hire someone else that can go faster or she really needs to speed it up, it's a full day to block off just to get a fill done. She sometimes does make them crooked or lumpy and sometimes they are good. You kind of get what you pay for. The younger girl was good and fast. Price is great but sometimes they switch it up and do not follow what's actually on the board of prices which is weird and will charge more randomly? Would love to go back because I can't find anyone else, but it's a half day commitment in the middle of a work day just to get a fill. read more

BEST NAIL SALON. Prices are great. The staff is amazing. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. If you do not have an appointment, you will show up and have to make an appointment when you get there because they have people who come in through out the day and fill the spots. They are great though and do such an amazing job. Such sweet ladies! I am definitely a new regular. Got a full set done by Susan, and a pedicure by Tina. They are both absolutely amazing and provide great service. No better place to go! This is one of the first places I came after moving to Van Nuys, and I'll definitely keep coming! read more

The staff here is so kind and welcoming!! My goodness, I felt welcomed instantly and I am so happy with how my gel pedi came out. This nail salon is one of the very few where I felt like I wasn't being judged or talked about. You as a client will feel like it's truly about you when they work on you and they will communicate/go the extra mile if they are interrupted by other clients/customers, or need to attend to something. Susan worked on my gel pedi and I absolutely love them. The attention to detail and care is why I'll be coming back (: Thank you! read more

Got my nails done almost done 2 weeks ago and they still look great! I also got a pedicure and that is still intact. The nail salon gave me late 90s vibes with a hint of nostalgia since I'm a 90s baby read more

Fantasy Nails - Glittery nails - Nail Salons Near Me - Van Nuys, California

I came in a couple of weeks ago to have my gels removed. The woman who answered my call, Suzanne, said they opened at 9am on Sat. I showed up on the dot 9am on Sat and the salon was still closed. After waiting around for 10-15 mins the whole Fantasy Nail crew arrived (2 nail techs and a helper). Suzanne was among them. I had to wait in the chair as they prepped themselves, and I was nice to give them the opportunity to get ready. As soon as Suzanne settled to start on my gel removals (20 mins after 9am) the phone begins to ring. Long story short, every 2 mins a new call would come in and she would have to answer it and book a new appointment, rendering my 15 min service into 30 mins of being there from the beginning. She was very sweet otherwise and tried to get me to come back to the salon later that day for another gel service but I told her I'd call when I found the time. Anyway, for all that, she still managed to charge me double what their service menu charged ($5 gel removal) which totally caught me off guard. I thought about going back because of how nice (fake) Suzanne was, but after that overcharge, I'm out. The place seemed like it needed a major makeover from 1990 anyway -- a clear indication that they needed the $ to update the place. You have my additional $5 bucks plus tip, so good luck! read more

Susan has been my girl each and every time I've been in. She's super sweet and always does me right. I specifically come in for a pedicure. I don't know what it is, but my pedicures always last the longest when I get them done here. It's not your most glamorous spot, or in the nicest of areas, but the customer service and quality is impeccable. It has definite 80's/90's vibes. You'll know when you see it for yourself. The shop is located inside of a plaza and I've never had any issues finding parking, but I also always come in early am. I've never had to make an appointment, but again, I consciously come in closer to when they open to reduce my chances of having to wait. You may want to call in it you plan on coming later on in the day. The prices are more than fair. read more

I ABSOLUTELY love this place for pedicures. They have an old school type pedicure called 'the treatment'. This includes callus remover, busting out the drill to remove deadskin and polish the toes, cuticle trim etc etc. Tina is my girl and I will continue come here because my feet look so gorgeous after the treatment. read more

I'd rather never have acrylics again until I die rather than come back to this shabby a trashy hole in the wall where I was charged $52 for acrylics with a gel coat. These people lie and make shit up. Literally telling me that the $5 posted for gel polish is $15 and that it's normal. This is not rodeo drive. It's crappy and pathetic and I refuse to go here again. Check your bank accounts after. Can't trust these robbers. read more

Fantasy Nails - LIARS and CROOKS!!!! They post these cheap prices then add $20 extra dollars when you're about to leave - Nail Salons Near Me - Van Nuys, California

They do fine work, but are not good about honoring or keeping appointments. I've gone 3 times always giving them a chance but each time I waited over 20 min when I booked in advance to avoid those wait times. There's only 2 workers so I understand they're busy They're sweet ladies but my time is valuable too They also charge more than their price board reflects: $5 for gel color take off $5 for reshaping ( even if you're getting same shape you came in with) $5 for cut down $15-20 gel And all these charges are in addition to the fill charge of $23 I miss the days of $25 fill in plus $10-15 for gel and that's it! Simple. Final thoughts: Good work. Bad scheduling. Meh pricing read more

Clean facility, small shop but don't let that fool you, Susan and Tima are both very hard workers. I had best pedicure ever by Tina!!

Oh my gosh they literally take forever. I've been here for 1.5 hours and my nails still haven't even been cleaned. Big mistake I will never ever come here again. Unless u have unlimited time for a mani pedi don't even think about it. Plus my cuticles and still horrific. One star because it is clean. Negative 4 for slow, poor work, and poor color selection. Susan and her sister Tina did a great job today! I called ahead and they set me up with an appointment that same day. You do get a 3% discount when paying with cash so be sure to bring cash. The salon is very clean and plenty of parking in the lot. Both nail techs took their time on me and gave me their full attention. They don't, however, have spa chairs. However, I'd still recommend coming in for a pedi with Tina. For gel polish removal, gel mani, and a regular pedi I paid $50!!! Such a bargain, I'll definitely be coming back. read more

Fantasy Nails - Nail Salons Near Me - Van Nuys, California

I woke up a couple times this week wanting to have hands like Betty Draper (except a modern Mrs. Draper who would've actually made good choices in her life, but still gets her nails done for no reason). Since moving to the valley, I've gotten my nails done zero times and I've only had acrylics once before, so I was committed to getting a full set this time. I knew exactly what I wanted and I had a photo in hand and color in mind, so that made things pretty easy and extensive communication was not necessary. I usually go to bargain salons, so the few times I had no idea what I wanted, I ended up making a fool of myself, gesticulating to the amusement of the staff. In these kinds of places, it's good to know what you want and have pictures with you. I had forgotten how painful it was to get acrylics. I was sitting there, taking in the surprisingly authentic 80's decor of the salon, grieving the dark and painful depths of my vanity, when the manicurist put some color on my nails. Then, I stared at my fingers in awe like I was a new mother admiring the beauty that had come from long mutilation. Overall, I had a great experience and the quality of the full set was awesome considering I don't have Betty Draper's income. Although they had card services, they preferred I use cash, which I had on me from a previous bargain shopping escapade. Parking was not a problem. I parked right in front of the salon window. The salon is located in a little plaza and there were a lot of empty spaces. There were also signs that said you can only park for 30 minutes, which I scoffed at, ready to throw around some emphatic "how dare you!"'s if my parking integrity was questioned, but they don't seem to keep track of how long you're there. Also, when getting acrylics, the nails sometimes come out pretty thick when that mystery powder dries, so you could ask the ladies to file them down if you prefer a sleeker nail. read more

I have been a loyal costumer for a long time. So satisfied that I sent my daughter to get her dip powder nails done by Susan. She had regular pedi with dip powder nails and paid $45 for the service & $15 tip. Her nails chipped after 3 days. I called Susan before I sent my daughter back to the salon. Explained the situation. I told her not to redo with dip powder, instead to redo with gel. When my daughter went Susan wanted to charge my daughter for gel "with a discount". I'm very disappointed how Susan wanted to have my daughter pay out of pocket AGAIN. She told my daughter her nails probably chipped because she washes her hair?!!! Oh and probably because she works in retail as well... SHAME ON YOU! Taking our business elsewhere. You lost a loyal customer Susan. read more

What an amazing experience today at Fantasy Nails! I was at a nearby dealership getting my car serviced and was looking for a place to kill time. I looked at Yelp! Called Fantasy Nails and no answer. I hung up and immediately got a call back from Susan who was so sweet on the phone. I told her I would be in promptly and luckily she had time to help me. Susan and Tina were both super attentive and kind. They did an amazing job at my nails (gel mani/ reg pedi). They took their time and I had the perfect end result - both in color and shape. It's hard to get your nails done outside of your local spot and they certainly did not disappoint me! I will for sure be back if I'm in this area. Thanks ladies for taking care of me read more
