They had just opened at noon, so we were excited to be some of the first customers and check out the flavors of the day! The young lady working was super friendly, professional, and genuinely seemed happy to be there--which made our experience even better. She kindly offered us samples of several flavors, which helped us narrow down our choices. I ended up going with a scoop of Piña Colada and something new to me called Candy Dream--a purple gelato that surprisingly tasted like strawberries. Super refreshing and different in a good way! I got mine in a waffle cone, but was a little bummed to find out it was the last one already--only an hour after opening. My husband had to go with a sugar cone, which was still tasty, just not his first choice. We originally came in hoping for chocolate, peanut butter, or salted caramel, but learned they rotate flavors daily--so what's on the menu board isn't always available. Just something to know ahead of time if you're craving something specific. Overall, great little spot with delicious gelato and warm, welcoming service. We'll definitely be back to try more flavors (and hopefully snag a waffle cone next time)!

I had actually been to a couple of Venchi locations in airports for chocolate, but hadn't realize they served gelato and had never had theirs. It was a very strange experience, though. We walk up to the ice cream counter to look at the flavors and they say we have to stand behind the register. We inquire as to whether we can taste flavors and they say yes, but only after you've purchased your ice cream. The issue with that is how do I know if I want one or two flavors until after I've tasted the gelato? I assume kids were coming in and tasting a bunch without buying anything, but then ask for a deposit or something. It doesn't make any sense to not be able to look at or taste the flavors before you have to order. I only tasted two flavors because they were making me so uncomfortable, and selected the second one I tasted--a dark chocolate flavor that wasn't honestly pretty darn excellent. So 5 stars for the actual taste (and their chocolates) and minus a star for the service.

My go-to flavor is the Stracciatella, but this time I decided to try the Blueberry Lavender. It was definitely unique and more of an acquired taste. I didn't pick up much blueberry, and the lavender was a bit overpowering for my preference. My only real complaint is the size of the cups. They give you a very generous scoop, but the cups don't seem large enough to hold it comfortably. My gelato was already dripping all over my hands before I even finished checking out. I appreciate the generous portions, but a slightly larger cup would make the experience much less messy and let you actually enjoy all that gelato without racing against the melt!

The red bean taiyaki was pretty good and had a bit of a crunch when it was warm but kinda less so when it turned cold and soggy. My sister and niece went back the next day to get more and was met with "What do you want?" in a really testy, I can't be bothered with you kind of questioning when it was their turn to order.
