Pretty long line, but it went fast. Service was quick and efficient and friendly. I got the chocolate waffle mixed with a little bit of raspberry soft serve. It was delicious. We went to Gruto's for the first time on a very, very cold day in December, so didn't have to deal with a line! I'm a huge soft serve fan and have been on the hunt for a local ice cream shop with good soft serve. Gruto's is in downtown Leesburg and has raspberry, vanilla, raspberry vanilla twist, chocolate, banana, chocolate banana twist, and a variety of other treats. My husband and I split a raspberry cyclone, which is like a DQ Blizzard, with brownie and raspberry soft serve. The brownie bites were big and moist and had chocolate chips in them! This is one of my favorite places to stop when I am in Leesburg! The black raspberry flavor and bananas are the best! This is a super cute, cozy ice cream shop that has a family owned vibe. If you love soft serve Gruto's has some of the best in the area - and there are so many options! It's hard to decide what to have. Today I went with a s'mores sundae topped off with graham cracker crumbles but you can have pretty much any kind of candy, fruit or other topping combination that you can think of. There's no indoor dining, strictly take away. Social distancing is still in place and it's a small shop so there may be a brief wait outside. The wait is made up for by the swift and friendly servers who seem to enjoy their jobs serving up the sweet stuff for their customers. There's a small parking lot directly behind the shop accessed via a very narrow driveway at the left side of the building so keep a sharp eye out or you'll miss it. There is some street parking but it's a busy street. This is just a great homey ice cream place and worth a visit for a cool and tasty treat - highly recommend. read more

Some of the best soft serve ice cream in downtown Leesburg is at Gruto's Soft Serve on King Street. They have delicious cones, sundaes, and milkshakes. When I went there was only one person behind the counter, but he was quick to get our orders down and out to us, he also told everyone goodbye by saying "see you tomorrow", I thought it was sweet. There isn't much seating here and there are no tables, so I'd recommend planning to take the ice cream to go. Check them out next time you're craving something sweet! read more

I am not normally a soft-serve ice cream person. I usually prefer gelato, but I decided to give this place a shot. What really won me over was the shear size of the cookie dough balls! There is nothing worse than ordering cookie dough and getting a few, sad, anemic dough balls. Gruto does not make this mistake. As you can see from the picture, they were huge. I was a very happy camper. There is not any seating indoors, but there are a good number of chairs outside to sit in. You're also in the heart of downtown Leesburg, so it's a good place to stroll with your ice cream. This place is definitely pricey, but that seems to have become the norm for ice cream these days. I appreciate that for the price, it was a good portion size. read more

I have been to Gruto's multiple times but tonight I was very disappointed. I went in with my family for ice cream today and ordered a cup of ice cream with marshmallow sauce, after, family and plenty of other customers had already gotten their ice cream before mine. I waited more than 15 minutes with no ice cream and was very frustrated with the service. I usually recommend this place, but not sure if I will anymore after this experience. read more

Randomly we found Gruto's Soft Serve because my kids want some ice cream. We stopped and we love the tiny shop full of people and kids. I was not expecting anything than the usual ice cream shops, but the lady who was alone was doing a great job. Very busy, but she had a great attitude. Gruto's started in Purcellville, VA in 2007, and was purchased by the current owners, the Wilsons in 2015. They have worked to expand the business with extended hours and a longer "season." Each afternoon tea includes 2 pots of tea, 1 macaron/person, and additional bites (savory & sweet). Luckily, there were 2 of us, so we each ordered our own teas. I'm not sure how flexible they are if requesting additional tea pots for larger parties (max 8 people). The weekdays tea is $35/person, weekends $40/person (needs a reservation). There is an 18% gratuity to all the final bill regardless of the number of people in the party. I would highly recommend the Thai tea...I don't add any sugar or cream to my tea and it was still so tasty. I ordered the coconut macaron, which is the newest addition the the macaron family. Parking: there is parallel parking available in front of and around the establishment. There is also a parking garage roughly 1 block (walking distance), which is free on the weekends. If planning a visit on the weekdays, be sure to read the parking signs carefully. I would definitely return to try other items on their menu.

W&OD trail is a few feet away you can see the sign from the cafe. The interior was quite hipster. A good amount of seats inside and outside. The place was crowded in the morning but they had enough staff take care of people. I got my cortado in like 2 minutes despite the amount of people in line. They work fast. The cortado I got was okay. It's not something I'd drive to Leesburg for. My friend said the matcha latte is good. The breakfast other people were having looked great. Parking wasn't easy. I had to get past all the new apartment buildings and park at Market Station and walked a block. The bouquet of flowers here look very unique.

Made with Blue Ridge Vodka, Cava, and strawberry-watermelon juice, it was light, crisp, and not overly sweet. The deviled eggs were topped with bacon jam, which added a nice savory touch. They had a bit more mustard and horseradish kick than I'm accustomed to, but they were still delicious and packed with flavor. The real star, though, was the Low Country Biscuit. It was absolutely enormous, stacked with perfectly fried chicken, chunky pimento cheese, and hot honey. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the combination of the rich pimento cheese with the sweet heat of the hot honey was outstanding. The honey added just enough spice to complement the sandwich without overpowering the other flavors. I also tried a bite of my wife's Southern Philly, and it was fantastic. It's a creative Southern spin on a classic Philly cheesesteak and one that's definitely worth ordering. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. One fun detail I really appreciated was that the check is presented inside a book, a small touch that fits perfectly with the restaurant's farmhouse theme. Between the outstanding biscuits, generous portions, creative menu, and excellent service, Buford's Biscuits delivered a fantastic breakfast experience. It's not the bitter and awful cheap stuff that most cafes will sell to you for the same price. This is the good stuff, and you can tell they make any syrup they add to it in house. It took 10 mins for anyone to come see us. I had to get up to ask for someone to get our orders. The cider I ordered was warm, so I had to ask for a cup of ice at the bar. My husband's burger was meant to be medium well and it was raw. Lastly, it's extremely loud in that room. The chairs are metal, and when drug against the flooring, they make an awful sound! They really need a form of rubber on the legs. Very hard for grandma, who has hearing aids. Poor thing was so uncomfortable. The room next to us, with a door leading to the window to the kitchen, was so incredibly annoying. They were pounding the entire time we were seated, and it was LOUD! We all just sat completely silent. This was an incredibly disappointing visit and we will not come back.

It just tastes less fresh. Probably because it has nasty stuff like partially hydrogenated soy bean oil in it. Anyway, I don't regret going, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.
