Fannie's is a special place. I've been there twice and it was great both times. They really want you to make a reservation. The place is very small but it's very cute and quaint. I came for lunch and got an arugula salad with grilled chicken. It was very good. My mom got the baked eggs special which was also delicious. She loved the grits especially. I've only been to Fannys a few times due to the need to make a reservation. It's really nice with excellent food that never disappoints. Frankly, I have purchased items to take out. Prices are way in excess of what I can afford but here's the deal: you get what you pay for. It's a nice option if you can reserve way in advance and go with someone else who picks up the tab. Have been wanting to dine at Fannie's for years now and finally stopped in today for breakfast. Typically, there is a long wait but they do take reservations. The interior is very cozy and inviting. There are a few tables for parties of 2 and 4, both indoors and outdoors, and I can see how it can fill up very quickly. I ordered their signature latte- cardamom, maple syrup and whipped cream. It was very tasty. For the entree, I ordered their burger hash special. Two poached eggs, a small nonchalant burger patty, crispy potatoes and a fresh salad. I thought the meal was really good, but was surprised that I was charged $36 for the burger hash when the bill arrived. There were no prices posted on the daily specials menu, and I should've probably asked, but I didn't think a breakfast of two eggs, a beef patty, salad and potatoes would cost $36. It didn't really sit well with me to be paying $55 (after tip) for a breakfast for 1 person. I think I will return, but I'll be sure to avoid the specials menu next time! read more

Wow! This restaurant is truly quaint with that small town charm feel. This inside is cozy. Food is fresh and delicious with an every changing menu based on local ingredients. I got the corn crepe which was so tasty with a blueberry scone and their signature latte. Only thing I'll say there is the latte was too sweet for me. The only other downside is the bathrooms are in a shared building and tiny. Since I have a baby there was no changing table and in that regard a bit challenging if your a mom with a little one. This was my second time visiting Warwick. I was excited to try Fannie's after hearing about the good reviews the locals had. However, the experience I had tested my patience limits. I don't know what it was but my friend and I were nothing but polite and respectful to the staff there yet other patrons around us were seemingly receiving faster and better service. We ended up waiting a whole hour for our food to arrive and we only ordered 3 items between two people. None of the waitresses came to explain why it was taking so long or anything. We were completely left alone to wait the whole hour after having our order taken until the food finally arrived. Two out of three of our plates came with half the plate full of salad. How long does it take to assemble a salad? One of the previous reviews noted that they served teeny tiny handle-less mason jars with lukewarm water and a lemon slice. I've never encountered being served lukewarm water before and it also tasted off-putting too. This would have been a one-star but the food was decent which was the only redeeming factor. The steak came out with two pieces medium rare and the rest well done. It's painful for me to see a steak cooked well done losing its nutrients and flavor. The food is good and hearty. I had a special, which was Figs French Toast. It was delicious! It was my first time having figs, I ate the whole plate. We all drank the signature latte with oat milk both iced and hot were delicious. We also ordered the corn crepe dish to share, it was ok, I probably wouldn't order that again. My girlfriend and daughter had the Egg sandwhich; which they normally order. Obviously we're repeat customers. I would love to give 5 stars for food, 2 for service. I'm settling on 3. I arrived at 12:40 on a Sunday and asked for a table for 2. My mom would be joining me. As this was my first time here, I wasn't aware that reservations were recommended. They were able to seat me, however, and gave me a menu. My mom was supposed to meet me at 12:45 but she was running late and walked in at 1pm. At no point in my twenty minutes of waiting alone was I asked if I wanted water, coffee... I wasn't even acknowledged, not even eye contact. I thought it was super weird and impersonal, especially for such a cute intimate spot! I ordered a coffee, but was informed that after 10am they don't serve regular coffee anymore (what?), and I was offered an Americano instead. An Americano is not the same thing, and I declined. My only other option was the $5 French press (4 cups worth). It took about 10-12 minutes before the coffee and my mom's tea was delivered to our table. At this point I had been sitting at the table for about 45-50 minutes already. Finally! Something to drink! I was so parched - not even water on the table. Literally 30 seconds later, the food came out. The French press was delicious, but kind of a waste. I only wanted one cup of coffee and this was 4 cups worth. Upon leaving I asked for a to-go cup and took some coffee with me, but I felt it was wasteful. Before I left, I returned the French press to the counter and said, "I know you will probably throw this out, but I only drank half of it, so... feel free to drink some yourself." It was just odd. What kind of breakfast place doesn't have regular coffee? My meal was phenomenal. I ordered the baked eggs (pictured), served with seasonal vegetables and a weekly local cheese. The two eggs were served over-hard atop red cabbage, a few fingerling potatoes, and brie. Some grain mustard and scallions topped off the whole dish. The side of bread was SO GOOD - made in house. This meal is something I would want to literally every day, and knowing that the vegetables and cheese change weekly, it would never get boring. They only had two servers and I really feel they should have had a third. I called first thing in the morning and made a reservation for noon. You can try walking in but it's a huge risk. The place is not huge and everything is made fresh, so tables doesn't turnover quick. To start, they give you warm water in teeny tiny glasses that has a weird taste to it. I'm from NYC where the water is delicious, I usually don't let the water bother me because Long Island water is disgusting but this was warm and not good. After placing our order, time just kept going. After about 30 minutes we started getting upset. 45 minutes, my aunt was ready to go. It took an entire hour for our food to be ready. I could understand if this place was packed but it wasn't. I got the baked eggs and yuck. When ordering, I specifically asked that my eggs be runny. My eggs were so over cooked I barely wanted to eat it. There was a cheese that was in there, I'm not sure what kind but it tastes putrid. The entire dish was flavorless and I was extremely disappointed. We had to ask twice for our check. I went in without preconceived notions. The food on the menu sounded wonderful but I expected your usual deal. Overpriced and meager portions without the actual quality to make it worth it. I didn't expect to get a whole fresh piece of bread with a ton of Brie. I expect some half portion on toast. It tastes amazing and I was left full. I went there this morning for breakfast. I sat down outside at 10:45. I was not even offered a cup of coffee till 11. It was a latte with cardamom, and it was excellent! My order was taken shortly afterwards. that order took yet another 20 minutes. My corn crêpe was incredible. It was delicious and the blend of ingredients were dancing in my mouth! The baked eggs with tomatoes,bok choy,goat cheese and potatoes looked incredible. My problem with was that the egg whites were severely runny. I asked the young lady to please have them cook it a bit more. She came out in less than one minute and said the torched it. The top layer was now cooked and underneath was still a wet mess of runny egg white. I am certain that they could do better and I'm disappointed that they let this go. The servers were incredibly polite. The service, however, was slow and I'm hoping they correct the runny egg white issue . Came here with high hopes but left disappointed. Ordered a vegetable omelet with a side of chicken sausage. The flavor of the omelet was good but it came out of the kitchen unbelievably watery. The juices from the omelet literally soaked through the bread they gave (you can see the liquid in the picture). Really surprised a highly rated brunch place couldn't get an omelet right. Also, the bread tasted doughy and could have used another minute or two in the oven. The chicken sausage was fine but had a strong citrus flavor to it that I personally wasn't a fan of. "WE HEARD YOUR MESSAGE LOUD AND CLEAR!!!" 4 of us hoped to share a memorable experience at Fannie's. We Did! When we asked for a table we were coldly greeted with: "There are no tables available". Okay, so we asked about the big empty tables outside the restaurant and were told: "they belonged to another business, they're not part of this establishment." We were then told: "You should have made a reservation--we're very busy on the weekends"--BUT it was Friday and 10:30 in the morning?! We noticed two very small tables in front of the premises and asked "were THEY part of the establishment, she begrudgingly responded,"Yes". Great!!! We sat down and waited for someone to give us water and our menus, we waited and waited.. .maybe they forgot about Us? So to jog their memory I decided to walk inside and get the menus myself and told her we were thirsty, and would like some water, meanwhile we noticed customers who came after us, walking inside the restaurant and then sitting themselves down outside on the big tables we had originally requested--and to make matters worse, the waitress who we talked to the whole time and told us the tables were for the "other establishment ", bypassed us and handed them menus and WATER and were served FOOD shortly thereafter! Our friend decided to just go inside the restaurant and ask for the day's specials. He was told he was blocking traffic and they didn't have time to tell him about the specials--he should look at the board outside. The board which we couldn't see because it was placed by the big tables that supposedly belonged to the "other establishment." 30 minutes later the waitress is finally ready to take our order--Yaaay-- we're all hungry and can't wait to eat. BUT we were told the only orders she was taking right now were drink orders--NOT FOOD! We told her we were hungry and knew what we wanted to eat. She repeated: Drink orders Only --NOT FOOD! Now I'm past hangry! My blood is boiling. We got a hold of the second waitress and told her we were still waiting for water and wanted to order FOOD--We were told EVERYTHING IS MADE FRESH--that's why the wait is sooooo long. Fannie, are you chasing after the chickens for your eggs, or picking the coffee beans or churning the butter? After this exhaustingly long period of time and poor excuse we decided to leave. Our friend walked inside, gave them his credit card to pay for the food we never received, and told them "We Heard Your Message Loud and Clear." He's African-American, his wife is Caucasian and my husband and I are Puerto Rican. He came out and told us that their response was: "that's not the case", the food was coming out soon. We battled within ourselves and debated whether we should just walk away. Our collective hunger won out. We stayed. I ordered your goat cheese omelette with zucchini. . . inedible, I wanted to gag. There was water seeping out of my insipid eggs--it was the water coming out of the overly steamed vegetables--REALLY --why wouldn't you sauté them? So I drank my cold coffee and ate bread with butter. Not one of us enjoyed the food. The food that was chewed was due to hunger. NEVER, EVER, EVER would I return. I say run and stay away. We ordered mimosas & bloody Marie's which had Tito's Vodka, organic tomato juice & home grown veggies- delicious & just the right amount of spices. I had looked at pictures & reviews ahead of time & heard amazing things about the homemade bread so I knew I was going to get that. I ended up ordering the egg & cheese breakfast sandwich & was between ordering the pork sausage or the spicy chicken sausage. The waitress suggested the pork sausage because it was a nice touch of sweet yet salty on that sandwich. Absolutely to die for- and what made it even better was the homemade ketchup- wow!!!
