Fannie's is a special place. I've been there twice and it was great both times. They really want you to make a reservation. The place is very small but it's very cute and quaint. I came for lunch and got an arugula salad with grilled chicken. It was very good. My mom got the baked eggs special which was also delicious. She loved the grits especially. Have been wanting to dine at Fannie's for years now and finally stopped in today for breakfast. Typically, there is a long wait but they do take reservations. The interior is very cozy and inviting. There are a few tables for parties of 2 and 4, both indoors and outdoors, and I can see how it can fill up very quickly. I ordered their signature latte- cardamom, maple syrup and whipped cream. It was very tasty. For the entree, I ordered their burger hash special. Two poached eggs, a small nonchalant burger patty, crispy potatoes and a fresh salad. I thought the meal was really good, but was surprised that I was charged $36 for the burger hash when the bill arrived. There were no prices posted on the daily specials menu, and I should've probably asked, but I didn't think a breakfast of two eggs, a beef patty, salad and potatoes would cost $36. It didn't really sit well with me to be paying $55 (after tip) for a breakfast for 1 person. I think I will return, but I'll be sure to avoid the specials menu next time! read more

This was my second time visiting Warwick. I was excited to try Fannie's after hearing about the good reviews the locals had. However, the experience I had tested my patience limits. I don't know what it was but my friend and I were nothing but polite and respectful to the staff there yet other patrons around us were seemingly receiving faster and better service. We ended up waiting a whole hour for our food to arrive and we only ordered 3 items between two people. None of the waitresses came to explain why it was taking so long or anything. We were completely left alone to wait the whole hour after having our order taken until the food finally arrived. Two out of three of our plates came with half the plate full of salad. How long does it take to assemble a salad? One of the previous reviews noted that they served teeny tiny handle-less mason jars with lukewarm water and a lemon slice. I've never encountered being served lukewarm water before and it also tasted off-putting too. This would have been a one-star but the food was decent which was the only redeeming factor. Wow! This restaurant is truly quaint with that small town charm feel. This inside is cozy. Food is fresh and delicious with an every changing menu based on local ingredients. I got the corn crepe which was so tasty with a blueberry scone and their signature latte. Only thing I'll say there is the latte was too sweet for me. The only other downside is the bathrooms are in a shared building and tiny. Since I have a baby there was no changing table and in that regard a bit challenging if your a mom with a little one. My partner had pancakes that were truly awesome. My filet and eggs tho...they don't let you determine how it's cooked, which was odd but I trusted the chef knew. I prefer medium rare. The food is good and hearty. I had a special, which was Figs French Toast. It was delicious! It was my first time having figs, I ate the whole plate. We all drank the signature latte with oat milk both iced and hot were delicious. We also ordered the corn crepe dish to share, it was ok, I probably wouldn't order that again. I would love to give 5 stars for food, 2 for service. I'm settling on 3. I arrived at 12:40 on a Sunday and asked for a table for 2. My mom would be joining me. As this was my first time here, I wasn't aware that reservations were recommended. They were able to seat me, however, and gave me a menu. My mom was supposed to meet me at 12:45 but she was running late and walked in at 1pm. At no point in my twenty minutes of waiting alone was I asked if I wanted water, coffee... I wasn't even acknowledged, not even eye contact. I thought it was super weird and impersonal, especially for such a cute intimate spot! I ordered a coffee, but was informed that after 10am they don't serve regular coffee anymore (what?), and I was offered an Americano instead. An Americano is not the same thing, and I declined. My only other option was the $5 French press (4 cups worth). It took about 10-12 minutes before the coffee and my mom's tea was delivered to our table. At this point I had been sitting at the table for about 45-50 minutes already. Finally! Something to drink! I was so parched - not even water on the table. Literally 30 seconds later, the food came out. The French press was delicious, but kind of a waste. I only wanted one cup of coffee and this was 4 cups worth. Upon leaving I asked for a to-go cup and took some coffee with me, but I felt it was wasteful. Before I left, I returned the French press to the counter and said, "I know you will probably throw this out, but I only drank half of it, so... feel free to drink some yourself." It was just odd. What kind of breakfast place doesn't have regular coffee? My meal was phenomenal. I ordered the baked eggs (pictured), served with seasonal vegetables and a weekly local cheese. The two eggs were served over-hard atop red cabbage, a few fingerling potatoes, and brie. Some grain mustard and scallions topped off the whole dish. The side of bread was SO GOOD - made in house. This meal is something I would want to literally every day, and knowing that the vegetables and cheese change weekly, it would never get boring. They only had two servers and I really feel they should have had a third. To start, they give you warm water in teeny tiny glasses that has a weird taste to it. I'm from NYC where the water is delicious, I usually don't let the water bother me because Long Island water is disgusting but this was warm and not good. After placing our order, time just kept going. After about 30 minutes we started getting upset. 45 minutes, my aunt was ready to go. It took an entire hour for our food to be ready. I could understand if this place was packed but it wasn't. I got the baked eggs and yuck. When ordering, I specifically asked that my eggs be runny. My eggs were so over cooked I barely wanted to eat it. There was a cheese that was in there, I'm not sure what kind but it tastes putrid. The entire dish was flavorless and I was extremely disappointed. We had to ask twice for our check. I went there this morning for breakfast. I sat down outside at 10:45. I was not even offered a cup of coffee till 11. It was a latte with cardamom, and it was excellent! My order was taken shortly afterwards. that order took yet another 20 minutes. My corn crêpe was incredible. It was delicious and the blend of ingredients were dancing in my mouth! The baked eggs with tomatoes,bok choy,goat cheese and potatoes looked incredible. My problem with was that the egg whites were severely runny. The top layer was now cooked and underneath was still a wet mess of runny egg white. I am certain that they could do better and I'm disappointed that they let this go. The servers were incredibly polite. The service, however, was slow and I'm hoping they correct the runny egg white issue . I didn't expect to get a whole fresh piece of bread with a ton of Brie. I expect some half portion on toast. It tastes amazing and I was left full. The price actually matches and I even feel like I got a good deal. I have to say it was a fantastic experience. Fresh squeezed lemonade was actually fresh too. Atmosphere is great. I highly recommend it but I have seen people have trouble with coffee and some wait times. For me it was pretty quick and I didn't get coffee. The juices from the omelet literally soaked through the bread they gave (you can see the liquid in the picture). Really surprised a highly rated brunch place couldn't get an omelet right. Also, the bread tasted doughy and could have used another minute or two in the oven. The chicken sausage was fine but had a strong citrus flavor to it that I personally wasn't a fan of. We ordered mimosas & bloody Marie's which had Tito's Vodka, organic tomato juice & home grown veggies- delicious & just the right amount of spices. I had looked at pictures & reviews ahead of time & heard amazing things about the homemade bread so I knew I was going to get that. I ended up ordering the egg & cheese breakfast sandwich & was between ordering the pork sausage or the spicy chicken sausage. The waitress suggested the pork sausage because it was a nice touch of sweet yet salty on that sandwich. Absolutely to die for- and what made it even better was the homemade ketchup- wow!!!
