The spices were on point, the crust was buttery, light and flakey, and the ingredients tender but not overdone. Delicious lavender latte. Pair all this with breakfast on the sunsplashed veranda and it becomes an experience. A shout out too to the cheerful young women working the counter who delightfully welcomed us in as if it were their home, excited to show us what Noble Pies was all about. Visited the new location of Noble Pies which is down the road from the original location we used to visit post apple picking at Pennings. The newer location is now in a home which offers twice the amount of seating compared to the original location. Lots of cozy seating with couches as well as table and bench seating depending what room are you in. There is a small bathroom in the front left room that is very clean. To order your pies you walk straight from the entrance to the back. They have their pies for takeaway in the fridge and shelves. If you want pies to eat in, they have them displayed in the case. They can heat up any slices if needed. For drinks they have bottled harney teas, spindrift, Bruce Cost ginger ale, teas, coffees and milkshakes. They also have pie milkshakes which they can take a slice of pie in the case to make into a milkshake. Some of my favs here are the buffalo chicken pie, Texas pecan pie and pecan cheesecake pie. I am not a pie lover by any means but had a deal for a pie so I decided to give it a shot. Noble pies you might have convinced me! I got the mixed berry pie and it was incredible. To start off I got the pie at around 12pm and when I got home around 4pm it was still pretty cold. Bless the cold weather (I'm visiting family but I'm from FL) because it stayed intact. After dinner my bf and I threw in the oven for 30-35 min but we left it a little longer so the top got nice and golden brown at 350 degrees. As recommended we had it with vanilla ice cream. We were able to share with a total of 5 of us. The crust was so buttery and savory. The berries tasted fresh and vibrant, with the perfect balance of sweet and tart. It wasn't overly sugary, letting the natural flavors of the berries shine through. It was just so comforting. I might have to come back before I leave to snag another pie because this was just a great treat. Whether you're a pie lover or not, this one will win you over. Our annual upstate NY trip brought us here to get some savory and sweet pies. We came on a Saturday around 10-11 am. They were already out of scones so they must be really popular. I've only gotten pies at Petee's Pie in the City so I just assumed that all the pies would be freshly baked, not stored in the fridge, but most of the pies here are in the fridge. We opted for the curry chicken pie. It was good, but we wanted the pie crust to be more flaky and crispy. There were also huge chunks of vegetables that needed to be diced further for a more consistent taste. For the sweet dessert, we were already making our own blueberry and peach crumble so we chose to do the key lime pie. We got a couple of slices to try and some whole pies to take home. Generally, there was a wide selection even at 4pm on a Saturday. Peach pie: somehow they added a lot of flavor to the peach filling, or maybe because it was at peak season? The pastry top could have afforded to be more flaky/crispy but it was very buttery. Mixed berry crumble: a customer recommended it in and so we tried it, which was a great selection. I appreciated it with the crumble on top which was more oat based. Cheesecake pecan: this was better than I expected. The cheesecake filling was NY style and worked well with the roasted pecans. The crust was the best out of the pies - maybe because it was baked the longest? Chocolate cream: it had a chocolate pudding like taste. It wasn't bad per se but after a while, I grew tired of it and it was the only one that we didn't finish. I took the whole tomato pie to go ($32). This was better than I thought - you would think it'd be like a pizza pot pie but it's not as heavy as that and a lot more veggie based. I was dismayed a little by how watery it came out at first but the soggy bottom somehow worked with the cheese and filling. This store is right off Windermere Ave but it's a little hidden and can easily be missed if you are not paying extra close attention. Parking space in the back of the building is small. This is such a cute and delicious pie shop - but it is hidden away! First of all, I lovee the decor! You can take some cute pictures of your pies here. The actual pies are delicious and there are soooo many different flavors to choose from! I tried the strawberry rhubarb, pulled pork, apple, and vegetable quiche. You haveee to get the apple pie! That was my favorite! All of the other pies were delicious as well! There are also two different crusts you can choose from (oats or a regular crust). I personally have no preference and liked both! First off, I want to state that I am likely a tougher critic because I do cook from scratch daily and I do make my own pies. We were staying with friends from the area and they raved about Noble pies so we picked up a Hudson Valley mixed apple, a cherry for variety, and a chicken pot pie (because we were headed home and it made for an easy dinner). First, the chicken pot pie. It is definitely well stuffed with chicken but the texture and consistency is like chicken salad stuffed into a pie shell. It ate mushy and dry. No gravy, no identifiable pieces of veggies like carrots, celery and onions to add texture. The pastry was dense and not flaky. I think the most off putting thing was a slightly sour taste to the pie. I wanted to give the fruit pies a chance in case it was a fluke that it was not so great. We tried the apple pie and it was underbaked. The bottom crust had no color and was bordering raw on the inside and barely cooked on the outside. Again the crust is dense and not light and flaky, The crimping was way too thick around the edges. The filling did have some apple flavor but was far too sweet. There was no tartness that you look for with apple pie. It was well filled but the underbaking, lack of spice and oversweet filling was really disappointing. We paid over $100 for these three pies and these first two were very disappointing. I had planned to freeze the third and take to a family Thanksgiving gathering but I expect that I will end up baking my own rather than take a chance on it for a family holiday. read more
