Very cute little bakery. You can tell everything is homemade (and with love.). We tried an assortment. I got the blueberry crumb pie for a party I was going to. Overall it was ok/good. The flakey crust was chewy and not great. They would do better maybe making a graham cracker crust on it. I also got lemon bars which were good. And the star of the show was the coffee cake. It was so moist and delicious with big cinnamon crumbs. Will definitely return for more of that. I know a lot of people are complaint about the hours but I'm thinking they probably wouldn't do much business during the week in this area so I'm ok with them being a weekends only spot. read more

Let me recount the experience I just had at this bakery for you: I walked in and asked the woman at the counter if I could place an order for cookies and/or pastries for an event next weekend. "NEXT weekend?!" she asked. "Yes, next weekend." (Mind you, this is Saturday and said event is the following Sunday.) "I would only need a quantity of 30 or so," I said. The woman abruptly walks into the back, comes back out, and says, "We're booked solid for next weekend." I told her that was fine, I'd go elsewhere. And it was fine - small businesses sometimes need to turn people away. I understand that. It's great that they're in the position to do so, I suppose. What is NOT fine is the rude remark I received from behind my back as I turned to leave. "That's what you get for waiting until the last minute," she said. Now, that in itself would have been enough to turn me off from ever stepping foot in this business again, but the rude hand gestures the woman then made at me through the window as I was walking away down the street definitely confirmed it for me. Again: fine to turn away business, NOT fine to treat would-be customers who wanted to give you business with such childish antics and downright rudeness. A simple, "I'm sorry, we're completely booked," would have sufficed. Not sure why we couldn't have just left it at that, but this associate (Employee? Owner? Who knows?) apparently had to have the last word, telling me I was in the wrong for waiting to place an order. I'd expect any bakery worth its weight to be able to accommodate an order for 2 dozen cookies with more than a week's notice. I suppose the boutique business model is far different from that of traditional bakeries like Holland American, which have served the community for years and years. Despite standing alongside throngs of people in that bakery this morning, I was met with nothing but the highest degree of kindness, patience, and willingness to help. They'll be getting my business - wish I had thought to just go there in the first place. read more

Went here after a long hike with my father and they had delicious pastries and nice iced coffee! My one complaint is that they don't post their hours? My father and I went to visit again for some coffee but they were closed? We tried to find the hours online somewhere but there's nothing. My boyfriend and I came to discover Two Teaspoons on Valentine's Day weekend. I heard wonderful things about this place from my coworker and wanted to discover it for myself. When you enter Two Teaspoons, it's like stepping back in time--into a bakery somewhere in France. I have been to Paris as a teenager and this bakery in the heart of Hamburg rivals any fine French bakery that I have visited. The music playing overhead was some beautiful romantic French song. The tables were adorably lined with vases full of fresh flowers, just like in Paris. The assortment of cookies, pastries, and cakes were plentiful. I had a slice of the cherry pie and my boyfriend had the coffee crumb cake. I also had a medium cup of coffee, which my boyfriend enjoyed almost half of and he never drinks coffee!! The service from Maria and Brittany (the owners) was top notch. We can't wait to come back and try something new next time. When you go, just make sure to get there early before they sell out of your favorite pastry. read more

Was a little disappointed the last time I was there. The coffee had run out about 2 customers ahead of me, so they started a new pot. No Problem at all. There was enough for the two ahead of me, so I quietly waited , as did the man behind me. I received my fresh coffee and my items, paid and was adding sugar and milk. The owner came out from the kitchen to ring up the man behind me and said "oh it's no change for the coffee-since you waited so politely. Hmm? I guess I don't qualify? It was very upsetting. I like their products for the most part, especially their chocolate croissants, but I would also like to be valued as a customer. I've never really had a warm greeting from the owner, or even eye contact for that matter. Your cakes may be beautiful, but customer service is the heart of any small business. I waited to post anything because I didnt want to post anything being disappointed. I ordered cupcakes prior to my most recent order and they were bad. The cake portion themselves were good as were the decorations but the frosting was absolutely horrible. The taste was pure butter, I went back to give a second try as I like to do with local businesses, I told the owner of the unpleasant butter flavor, (My words were disgusting becuase the taste was) she expalned that the cake was better eaten at room temp....I said ok and was going to try it. (never heard of that) I then proceeded to order another cake and told her I would be ordering multiple cakes in a short period of time. I also inquired about fondant cakes and the prices were astronomical, especially for an 8 inch cake. A day later the owner told me (emailed me ) that because I complained about her cakes I should go elsewhere, She also said that I should not try to talk her price down... which I didnt. I did however question the ridiculous price she was quoting which is absurd. I have purchased much larger cakes for a great difference in price. I didn't complain prior as a review because I believe in second chances. But after reading some reviews, This behavior seems to be the norm of this bakery, if you do not like the cakes due to taste and tell them they just refuse service. They are also over priced, this is sussex county not NYC. I went to Hollan Bakery where they have NEVER failed and there prices are great. The taste is so much better and the staff is extremely friendly and know their customers by first name. I replied kindly to her email, but as expected no response. They have a poor business model, barley open and over priced. If you want better quality take a drive down the road. You only need a few days notice not weeks. read more

The baked goods here were delicious! I stopped in several times to pick stuff up when we were having company or whatnot. Their different bars were SO good. That being said, the storefront bakery is closed. They are focusing on their cake business. (Which is their choice and I respect it) but- I've had their cakes at two separate events and I'm personally not a fan. I would recommend you try the cakes before you purchase them. I did not like the white butter cream icing. The chocolate icing filling was decent but not something I would ever order. I also wish they would go back to having a storefront - I feel like their other bakes goods are much better. read more

I've been here a few times since it opened, including opening day. I have bought many different things, ranging from cupcakes, cookies, croissants, quiche, tarts, and more. I've had about 50/50 for good versus bad food. The croissants are always delicious. Some of the flour-less things are really not good. The flour-less chocolate cookies were described by many of my coworkers as tasting and textured as dirt. The oatmeal sandwich cookies are to die for, but the cupcakes have not been good, for any of the flavors I have tried (chocolate with cherry, vanilla with raspberry{ I think it was raspberry}), where those flavor combos are fairly hard to ruin. My biggest problem with this place is that you will never know what they have until you walk in. They change up their menu every day, so while I returned a day or two after trying the Croissants the first day, and they didn't have them, so I was quite upset. If they kept some staples every day and worked on their specials to make sure the flavors are on point, I would be far happier with this place. read more

Finally got to try this bakery. I have been trying for months. Pure delight. brought home a cherry crumb cake. the softest lightest crumb cake ever had. Also had an almond baked product- omg - unbelievable. soft , fresh, delish. I agree with other review. I drive by and cannot tell if they are open or closed. Drove by dozens of times, question if there open, cant tell, and keep driving. hours on door and website didnt match labor day weekend didnt match. I wish they had a light sign displaying open or closed so everyone could see it from the traffic lite. However, when you finally get there you will be very pleased. read more

They have great stuff when they're open. Too bad when they decide to close they don't update their hours online, on their website or on their front door. The cruffins were awesome, the blueberry muffins were fantastic and the quiche was fabulous. The decor at the bakery is a beautiful vintage Parisian. The chocolate chip cookie, macaroons were just ok and crumb cake was extremely dry we both agreed it wasn't very good. We will sample the menu a bit more next time we go. Nonetheless, we were impressed enough with the items we thought were spectacular to call the bakery to see if we could hire them for our wedding, but I was unimpressed with the phone manners. Wanted to speak to the owner, I guess her daughter picked up and she went to look for her mother. After a 30 second wait, she picked the phone back up and said she could answer the questions...confused, I said I had specific questions involving what they could and couldn't do. So she put her mom on the phone, her mom seemed more interested in telling me her daughter could answer the questions because they are partners. No need to defend your partnership and try to tell me off! Her daughter was the one that went looking for her instead of answering our questions to begin with. Kind of off putting since I was polite and so was her daughter, but her...not so much. We were calling for a larger order, including a wedding cake and a sizable amount of what we had today and to compliment the baked goods we got. I will happily find another bakery for the wedding, but we will likely go back for small things. read more

Extraordinary bakery on par with the best Parisian patisseries, and yes, I have sampled the native French version. The baked goods are excellent and of superior quality. I love stopping by this place for a sweet treat and I have ordered their cakes and purchased their quiche and pies as well and they have consistently been top drawer. I have always had very good customer service myself, although it can get busy. Most of the negative reviews here seem to be from folks who were upset because they arrived when the shop was closed. These hard-working, devoted ladies do all the baking themselves. They are literally swamped with business, because, I'm telling you, the baked goods far, FAR surpass anything available for many miles, which is a great thing! During the hours when they are not open to the public, I trust that they are busy taking care of private accounts etc... not lolling about eating their own bonbons. They are allocating their time and expertise wisely in order to be at their best for all of their clientele. A business is totally entitled to arrange their public hours as they see fit. I can understand feeling disappointed about the place being closed, especially with your mouth watering in anticipation during a long drive... I get that... but to post a negative review based on your personal annoyance is not an accurate reflection of the quality of the product. I would much rather have them maintain the high quality by being there and doing the baking themselves for albeit a limited schedule, than to sacrifice the integrity of the product by hiring out a likely-to-be subpar second string team to manage things in order to be open 24/7. It seems they have updated their online hours to address past discrepancies, but a quick phone call will let you know if the place is open or closed if you are unsure. This place is worth it and I, for one, am grateful to have access to their wonderful pastries and culinary delights. read more

I don't usually leave reviews but I'm doing so because of the negative reviews posted for this bakery. I've ordered from them on 3 separate occasions (cupcakes twice and macaroons once). I received nothing but high praise from the guests they were served to. The cupcakes were probably some of the best I've had, if not the best, and the macaroons were phenomenal. Excellent bakery goods! Quiches were undeniably the best we have had. Fresh, warm, savory, fluffy yet dense. Macaroons were soft and moist and not overly sweet. Crumb cake? We have no words. We will be making this our new Sunday stop and probably many other days as well. Behind the glass was a woman making a wedding cake that looked exquisite. Great pastries hands done. But you're never open. I live in the Glenwood area and have to travel. Your website says you're open. When I get there, the sign on the door says closed and the lights are off. For example, today March 14, 2019. Your website states you're open til 5pm. On both the webpage and Yelp. I get there at 2:10 pm and you're closed. This is not the first time. It has happened over a half a dozen times. Poor business practice. I'm done. The Daily Bean in Vernon and Jean-Claude Patisserie in Greenwood Lake is definitely worth the travel time. Plus, I don't have to call to make sure they're open. read more

Unfortunately, I can't rate any of the products as the business was not open on a Saturday afternoon! While I viewed several employees inside the bakery the sign on the door clearly stated CLOSED. I never heard of a bakery being closed on a Saturday afternoon at 03:00 p.m. unless there were severe weather conditions or some utilities issue in the area none of which were applicable in this instance. That can only signify two things, 1. the baked goods sold on the next business day which would be Sunday are probably less than fresh as some reviews indicated and 2. the prices must be so high and profitable that there is no need for the owner to keep the business open after 03:00 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon. It has been my experience that most people go to bakeries on the weekend, Friday through Sunday in the late afternoon to purchase "fresh" baked goods to bring as gifts to friends and relatives that they will be visiting that evening or who will be visiting them. This bakery closes at 03:00 p.m. on Friday through Sunday! Everyone cries support local small businesses by going to the local bakery and not the large supermarket bakeries, however, when the local bakery closes at 03:00 p.m. on weekends it leaves little choice but to go to the large supermarket bakery which is always open for you, has a large turnover of baked goods so the baked goods are always fresh, more economical and spend your money there. read more
