Chocolate Chip Cookie
Alison C.

I happened to be walking around Sparta and noticed the adorable Pattycakes Bake Shop. I walked in and was in awe of the tantalizing desserts that all looked completely adorable. There were small cakes topped with cannolis, cupcakes topped with whoppie pies, and more. I had never seen anything so playful! Despite the allure of the creative treats, I opted for a basic Chocolate Chip Cookie, which was still quite large and tantalizing. When I got home, I could not wait to try a piece of the treat, but, sadly, I found it just mediocre. The soft and chewy cookie lacked flavor. Yes, it was packed with chocolate chips, but they seemed to be made of milk or semi-sweet chocolate, as they provided little impact. In addition, the cookie could have used some salt. It essentially resembled a larger Chewy Chips-Ahoy and was not super exciting. Though my cookie was a bit of a letdown, I would give Pattycakes another shot, in order to try some of the other, more adventurous pastries.

I ordered the cake for my sister's bridal shower from Patty Cakes. Throughout the whole process, the staff was communicative and responsive. They listened to my ideas and made sure the final product matched what I'd requested to a T. The cake was simply gorgeous and, just as important for any cake or pastry, delicious. The guests all loved it, and it was quite a hit. I also ordered a dozen cupcakes on the side, just in case the cake wasn't enough. Big thanks to PattyCakes for making my sister's big day special and memorable!

When im in lake mohawk, I always grab a cup of coffee and something sweet from patty cakes! They have many desserts to choose from and they also make some fantastic cakes and cupcakes for any special occasion. Staff is always friendly and accommodating which makes the experience that much better.

Thanksgiving mini cookies! So sweet, perfect mini size

I love this bakery! I haven't ordered a cake (yet) but their in shop menu of treats is so cute and delicious! I love the attention to detail, especially with the cookies. The staff is just as sweet as the desserts too!

Gift box after my kids started sampling. It was beautifully packaged when it was delivered.

We received a gift box of pretzels, cake pops and cookies as a gift. Everything was delicious! They delivered and it was such a nice surprise. I can't recommend this business enough!

Bakery is great. Coffee not so much. Ordered a large latte and it was warm... also looks like they use a Nespresso machine?

I didn't get the chance to try the food but the interior was very inviting. All the displayed baked goods LOOKED amazing, perfectly decorated. I was there to pick up a cake filling sample but purchased 2 Dubai chocolate cupcakes as they looked too pretty not to try. They tasted just as good as they looked. As I mentioned, I found this place while looking for a baker for a birthday party. I had been in contact, via email, with someone at the bakery who had provided me with pricing, we even arranged for me to pick up a sample filling before officially placing my order. After trying the filling, I emailed to officially place my order & was met with another person, who changed the pricing, stating my previous point of contact had misquoted me. She refused to honor what I had previously discussed which was upsetting as I had vetted several bakers before choosing Cafe Pierrot. I would have loved to have tried their cake but, overall customer service is important so, I opted not to do business with them due to them going back on what was already discussed.

The crust and dough were incredible - so fluffy, perfectly crispy, amazing thick crust. The vegan cheese was also great, and the sauce too. Just a perfect pizza. My dad got a regular Margherita and loved it, and my mom got the fungi pizza with mushrooms and was raving about it. My boyfriend got the pig and fig and (of course) loved it as well. We all raved to each other about how amazing everything was. For a farm to do something like this when they don't need to, shows that they love what they do! You can really feel the love in the pizza. We then got ice cream after since the ice cream stand was still open. I got the vegan dark chocolate sea salt (literally incredible, perfect consistency, I love hard ice cream so this was amazing), my boyfriend got Madagascar vanilla and said it was a perfect classic vanilla, my dad said the cherry vanilla was the best he's ever had, and my mom who doesn't love ice cream got the lemon blueberry butter cake and was raving about it. Phenomenal job!!!!! So appreciative to live near a spot like this. Blessings!

They ended up not enjoying it, so that's why there's some missing and none of us wanted to eat it anymore! Spoke to Suzi when picking up the cake and explained to her that the cake would not be eaten on the day of, but instead two days later. The cake was for September 1st and that happened to be Labor Day so I had to pick it up earlier! She said, "That's fine," and it can be stored in the fridge for up to a week and in the freezer for up to three months. So, not sure why there's a sense of judgement, cakes should be able to be stored for longer periods of time! And we wanted to order from a bakery specifically, since it was a special occasion. Not sure what your reference to a "squished" cake has to do with it food will accumulate residue in containers overtime! 9/12/25 From seeing professional pictures online of the beautiful cakes on Google Reviews of Suzi Cakes and good reviews on Yelp, I genuinely thought that the red velvet cake I ordered over the phone with Suzi would be amazing. Boy, was I wrong. I had to throw out the cake after 6 days because no one wanted to eat it anymore. We gave some part of the cake away to a relative, so we didn't consume much...not sure if they enjoyed it either. There were 'red' flags that I noticed when placing an order with Suzi. I chose to ignore them because I needed a nicely catered cake for my sister's birthday. Suzi sounded very direct over the phone and sometimes dismissive, so I felt that I needed to truly know and prepare for how I wanted my cake each time I called. I could not go in person to explain or show pictures due to the distance from her business in East Hanover. Suzi gave me the listed price of $90, and I personally thought it was overpriced for a 7-inch, single-tiered cake. I originally did not want to place with Suzi, but I could not find a place around me that would do a red velvet cake legitimately, besides Coco Luxe Cakes in Peapack and Gladstone. Coco Luxe discontinued their red velvet cakes, unfortunately, which is the cake I truly needed, hence why I ordered here. Next, trying to find the suite number and building for this place was a nightmare, another red flag. It's very tight behind some train tracks and very easy to miss. Thank goodness for advanced technology and Google Maps/Street View for helping me navigate. I called Suzi on the phone so she could service me at the front desk to get the cake. I picked up the cake and truly believed that I would make my sister's birthday special, and I planned everything perfectly. I stored the cake in the fridge for 2 days before eating and followed all of Suzi's storage directions. We tried the cake and it was awful. It had a fermented-like taste, and we could not eat it. I saw a similar review on Yelp of someone having Suzi make their cake for their wedding, and their wedding guests could not eat it; it was that bad. I was hoping that would not happen to me, but it did, surely. The icing was hard, dry, and chunky; the cake itself lacked flavor. I got a red velvet cake from ShopRite in July for $16.99, and it tasted way better; just the cake was a little dry. I called Suzi to give her some feedback so she knows. She informed me to come back so she could examine the taste, but at that point, we threw the cake out. $90 truly wasted. Can't really ask for a refund, I guess, because I never came back to her about it, because her location is almost an hour from my house...not sustainable for me. Despite the good reviews, I will never go to Suzi Cakes again. I will stick with another recommendation I got from a relative for Coco Luxe in Peapack if I want a professionally made cake from a bakery. My sister's birthday was ruined, and no one in my family liked the cake. The price for the cake was outrageous, and compared to other local bakeries in the area, the price does not justify the taste. The presentation of the cake is good, but the taste is abysmal. Save yourself, your palate, and your wallet by looking elsewhere!

Suzi Cakes could not have been nicer or more accommodating with just 2 weeks notice. The communication was so simple, professional, and pleasant. They delivered the cake exactly when they said (in the pouring rain) and even placed the topper and flowers on it before leaving! And then the cake itself...oh my yum! We did Vanilla with Oreo Mousse filling and it was DELICIOUS. The cake was so soft, fluffy, and flavorful. And the filling was awesome! I know I've found my new bakery for future events!!! Thank you Suzi Cakes!

They served American comfort foods such as sandwiches and salads with a few Latin dishes too. They also had gelato and baked goods available. The service was friendly, and the food came out in a timely manner. I had the Chicken Caesar wrap ($16.95), which was a special on the day I attended. This also came with a side of pasta salad or fries, and I opted for the orzo-based pasta salad. It was very good especially the balsamic vinaigrette that dressed it. The wrap was nicely done, filled to capacity, and served warm. The homemade croutons and the slight crunch from the wrap really made it worthwhile. I also tried the flavors of fall sandwich, which was another special. It contained grilled chicken, caramelized onions, pumpkin and cranberry chutney, goat cheese, and toasted pecans on ciabatta. The ciabatta was the highlight here as well as the onions. The chutney was a tad too sweet for me. I also had the blueberry cobbler cupcake and a slice of brown sugar pecan pie cheesecake. Both were very flavorful. The crumb on the cupcake was good and I liked that the actual cupcake had blueberries rather than just the frosting. The cheesecake slice was my preferred choice. I liked the crunch from the pecans and overall, it was not too "cheesecaky", which sometimes puts me off. Will I go back? Definitely.
