There was a bit of disorganization though, as multiple servers came to take our drink order within the first 5 minutes of being seated. Service felt rushed and there was dirty silverware. I've been here twice and my experience here the first time was better than the 2nd. I'm trying to also be mindful with this review as I'm aware staffing issues are going on with most businesses. My food, overall, was fine. I would have liked for bell peppers to be diced rather than chopped into chunks, and the bacon not to be fried so hard to where it was difficult for me to chew. The potatoes were amazing! Absolutely no complaints there. My friend ate my toast, so I can't comment on that lol. The waffle was pretty good. I loved that I had the option of adding warmed honey. Some places either dont serve it, ir if they do, it comes in a prepackaged dipping container, like bbq sauces 'n such. They messed up my friend's order a tad, but it was more so his fault than the restuarant. He also gotten the waffle, but he did not know they started adding the berries and whipped cream. He never gotten it before with all of that until this trip, and he frequents this place (or so he says). I just took his berries for myself and we solved that problem without complaining. The one issue we really had was that at no point after receiving our meal did anyone come by to check on us. When someone did we were ready to leave. Our cups were empty and we had to flag down staff for refills. One guy completely avoided us when trying to get service. He would look dead at us and we would try to wave him down, he dipped out into the back or would go the opposite direction and found something else to do. Our original waiter doing his best to serve others and it gotten so busy, that we understood why it was difficult for him to get back to us. This is a great place for business related breakfast this is very clean and contemporary I have done a few business brunch meetings here and the Quiet ambience is attractive. My husband and I stopped here for breakfast the other day as we've been once before and remembered we had a decent breakfast before. We got there right at 7:30 when they opened so it was pretty quiet with only a couple other tables occupied. My husband ordered the has and eggs with a coffee and I ordered french toast with eggs combo with an apple juice. The food took a bit longer than we expected considering we were one of three tables. Once we got the food, the items were lukewarm at best. My husband's rye toast wasn't even toasted or buttered. He said it tasted more like a stale piece of bread. The biggest disappointment was when we received the bill. $40 for the two of us! For breakfast. $4.00 cup of coffee, which rivals Starbucks pricing. Actually, you can get a small coffee for less at Starbucks. $4.30 for my apple juice! I could go buy a bottle at the grocery store for less. Each of our meals were $13.00. Now I understand price for food going up and I understand having to pay a little bit more, but these prices seem way over inflated and it's almost insulting. Next time we can go over to the nearby bagel shop and pay 1/3 of this bill for a breakfast with juice and coffee. read more

I have wanted to come here to try this place out since we moved here. However, I was not impressed with the visit today. We were told it might be a 15 minute wait when we got there about 1pm. No biggie. Most of the tables had patrons and employees were moving about serving food or cleaning tables, but there were still plenty of clean, open tables available. Maybe they were short staffed. Again, no biggie - 15 minutes really isn't terrible. There was a sign at the door stating that bar seating was for waiting, but we opted to wait in our vehicle. We were added to the wait list via text. It wasn't even 15 minutes before we got a text that the table was ready. We were seated at a two top near the door. The table was so sticky. I feel like several establishments are like this now. I wonder if the cleaner they use these days because of Covid takes off the top layer on the tables. BUT also, I couldn't help but notice the guy going around cleaning tables went around using the same "wet" towel to wipe several tables down. Not once did he get a new towel or spray cleaner of any kind on the tables before putting rolled up flatware on the table. (Kinda gross really.) We looked at the menu for a while because there were so many choices. I wanted to try something different. I don't know why I do this or think it will be a good idea. I'm almost always taken by surprise (and I don't mean it a good way). I inquired about the Crab Rolls sandwich mostly because I was interested in what "two toasted New England rolls" meant. I was told that the crab salad was actually imitation crab and the rolls were like an English muffin. This information should have been my sign not to order this, but I was feeling brave. The bread was definitely nothing like an English muffin, but it was the best part of the sandwich. The crab salad smelled so fishy, but I tried it anyway. Definitely not real crab. I would not recommend it to anyone. If it were a legit crab cake, it would probably be amazing. Consider that thought, Famous Toastery! I got the breakfast potatoes as the side. The portion was decent and they tasted amazing. Thank goodness I ate them first so I could fully appreciate their taste!! So let's talk about the "Blah-Blah-Blah Omelette" aka the Build-Your-Own. This seemed like a pretty easy dish to create since you're literally choosing what you want in the omelette. That's what we understood from the menu and what our server read back to us when she reviewed our order. So how come the omelette came back with other things in it that we didn't order like bell peppers, tomatoes, and a mystery meat? Yikes! You can choose one meat for your omelette and if you choose more than one, you pay a little bit more. That's fine. Two meats were choosen - bacon and sausage. But this omelette came with at least 3 meats! The third meat was not easily identifiable which was odd and the fact that bell peppers and tomatoes were added without being ordered was unfortunate. Grits was the side ordered along with slices of white bread. No issues with those and they were great! Not sure if we will make another attempt to come back to this location. If we do, we won't order these items. The staff was very nice and our server seemed knowledgeable except for the English muffin issue. New England Rolls are definitely not an English muffin or similar in any way. read more

We decided to give this place a try. I joined the waitlist online, and once we parked at the restaurant our table was ready. It was my husband, myself, and our toddler. The staff was extremely nice, it is super cute inside, but it tends to get very loud. It didn't bother us, we have a toddler, so it was actually perfect. The food was good. The drinks are a little pricey, but worth it. I got a mermaid mimosa. For my meal I got the breakfast bowl....so delicious I felt like I inhaled it. We live close to two locations (Lake Wylie and Tega Cay). We normally go to the Lake Wylie location due to its proximity to our home. After several (5+) bad visits (orders wrong, eggs undercooked, inattentiveness of waitstaff, dirty silverware, trash in coffee cups, etc) we decided to give the Tega Cay location a try. Unfortunately we again were disappointed. Some of the issues we encountered included extended wait time for initial drinks (water), eggs undercooked, French toast undercooked, inattentiveness of waitress, never received refill of coffee after asking, took forever to get refills on water, stuffed French toast (cream cheese strawberry) filling was sloppy, witnessed several waitstaff spill coffee on the floor and never bothered to clean it up. After discovering that both locations have the same owners/management, it is clear that the majority of these problems are results of leadership issues. These locations have the potential to be amazing. The menu, though pricey, is diverse and offers high quality options/ingredients. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter how good your menu is and how great the ingredients are, if there is a lack of training/knowledge in preparing these dishes and a lack of training and supervision of having staff that can tend to the needs of the customers. We've given Famous Toastery a fair chance, but will not be back as there are other options in the area that are far superior. read more

I finally made it here for the first time recently. I would highly recommend it. My husband and I were lacking on sleep, but everyone was so helpful and nice. I got the stuffed french toast with raspberry, blueberry, peanut butter, and banana. The menu was missing an Oxford comma so I thought they all came on it and it was amazing. My husband got the country benny which he thinks is close to one of the best Benny's he's ever had (he gets them a lot). The service is better than any restaurant I've been to before. Every waiter/waitress will help you. They give you excellent recommendations. We live close by, so this will probably be our new go to brunch place! read more

The prices are a bit high, especially for the portion sizes but that shouldn't deter you. There are plenty of options for all diets and the staff was so helpful and friendly. However, it should have been a clue when I heard the table next to us complain that their food was cold then the table across from us complain and send back their food too that I was going to wind up disappointed. The server was great - she tried... kept our drinks full and offered us cornbread repeatedly acknowledging that our food should be up shortly. Unfortunately, after waiting nearly an hour and then seeing another table receive their food after being seated after us - we had all we could take. We slipped the waitress $20 to cover our drinks and her time and bailed. Yes, it's a busy restaurant - particularly on a Sunday... but, come on eggs and toast don't take that long. I feel bad for the servers... because clearly, they aren't the problem. Waitress was nice, they kept offering cornbread while we waited and making sure we were good on drinks so I don't fault the wait staff. Received the auto reply from the owner: No, a manager did not speak with us because our waitress was unable to get her attention as she (the manager) was ringing customers out. We waited an additional 5 minutes at the table after notifying our waitress that we would like to pay for our drinks, cancel our order, and leave. Then we stood at the front counter where the manager was but she was still ringing customers out. Sir, in reply to your comment that you are a very busy restaurant: There are many restaurants that are very busy and they are able to serve dinner meals in less than 45 minutes.
