Mr. Jim's Combo Plate - 3 meats
Diana R.

Swung by the drive-through today and was in and out in under 15 minutes--now that's how you do fast food with soul. I had every intention of ordering the Smoked Chicken Southern Salad... but let's be honest, it's hard to say no when the scent of smoked meat hits you from the parking lot. Ended up going with Mr. Jim's combo plate--three meats: smoked turkey, brisket, and ribs--with a side of the Morgan & Co. White Sauce (pro tip: do not skip it). Every bite was cooked to perfection. Juicy, flavorful, and full of that slow-smoked goodness I've been missing. My sides of the collard greens and coleslaw were very flavorful... Very good! If you're craving BBQ done right with lightning-fast service, this is your stop. No regrets. Only smoky, saucy satisfaction.

Right before writing this review, I realized this is a chain BBQ restaurant and that makes sense. We have been trying to find the best BBQ in the area so we decided to give this place a try. We started with the smoked wings which were huge and smoked just the way I like them. The gold mustard sauce lacked flavor but the dunk into ranch and blue cheese made up for it. I got the BBQ salad and my husband got a combo platter. The salad was a good size with plenty of pulled pork on top. I ate about half and took the rest home. My husband's brisket was a little dry, bland and smothered in a sauce that very closely resembled ketchup but I think it was supposed to be BBQ sauce? They do not have hushpuppies, instead they serve cheese biscuits. They also do not offer different BBQ sauces for your meats. The service was very friendly and we had a good experience, I just think you can find way better BBQ in Charlotte.

Always so yummy! The service is great and the food is even better. We will definitely be back

"We Give you our best"

Me and my family(4 people total) arrived to this Jim and Nicks location at 9:32 PM, and were seated at 9:34 PM. We ordered drinks and the waitress told us everything they didn't have before telling us what they did have. From the time we walked in we felt rushed. We received the classic Cheese Biscuits that everybody loves. However, we didn't love our biscuits because they were cold and obviously they were not as enjoyable as they generally would be. We were then told after the fact that the last biscuits that were made fresh were made at 8:30 PM and that the location closed in 15 minutes. We received our food about 10 minutes later and there was no issues with our main courses. For Jim and Nick's slogan to be "We Give You Our Best" we sadly did not receive Jim and Nicks Best. Next time Jim and Nicks give us your best!

This was our second time here and it was great on both visits. Service was very good, inside was clean and nice atmosphere. Great tasting BBQ! Baked beans are very good also and love those little cheddar muffins.

Came here for dinner on a Friday and luckily we arrived before the crowds. Our server was attentive and prompt. We ordered the onion rings as an appetizer and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it arrived. Everything was delicious, hot and fresh. Will definitely return.

The customer service PHENOMINAL! I ordered 1/2 rack of baby backs. When I say they were SALTY, it was too much for me. It gave me a headache. I even tried to push thru but it's a no for me. Plus the meat was over smoked. Baked beans pretty good. Muffins were ok. Ambiance is family friendly. Will I be back? I would try them again, but get something else. Have you been here? If you go send me a message in what to try.

This is some great barbecue in the Carolinas, you can tell it's a popular place by the amount of people in there.I had the pulled pork with corn on the cob and one had the brisket with Mac and cheese, both were really delicious and great bbq sauces too. Our waitress was really friendly. She even gave me a sample of collard greens which I loved. my families been there a few times before so I know all the food is good baby back ribs are a hit.

Very friendly service! The brisket is always very tasty! And you have to try the huge potatoe with all the toppings!

Ate here for the first time and I wasn't disappointed. And the muffins were delicious

That made me grab some sauce. I mean absolutely tiny bit on the side just to see. I tasted the Strawberry and was elated. Its freakn delicious. The strawberry plays so well with the heat and a hint of sweet. The peach was freakn fire. I had to come back and grab 2 Oz of each. I thought it couldn't get any better till I bit into the Mac. According to the server, we received a smaller than normal order of pork rinds. Which wasn't that big of a deal because it literally looked like they opened the bag of gas station pork rinds and poured them onto a tray with seasoning. Fries were brought out later, but they were cold. The charcuterie board was good for quantity, but my mouth quickly got tired of the flavors. Everything seemed crazier than it needed to be, and none of the sauces really stood out. In fact, all of them were sweeter than I had expected. Oh yeah, when I ordered a Bud Light with a glass, the glass was dirty. So the food was definitely an under achieving moment. Next, the server was actually nice and the ambience was great. It's a smart looking establishment . But you don't go to a restaurant for the looks, you go for the food and in that regard, I was decidedly underwhelmed.

Welp, I held out for long enough and I'm finally fed up enough to give a review/warning…read more I love the place. The Burgers and fries are great. They have apple pies that taste like what McDonalds used to serve over 15 years ago before they got cheap with them. My problem with them is however they organize putting the order together into the bag. 95% of the time I go there, there's something wrong. Most of the time, it's that they don't give me my dipping sauce. For most places, I wouldn't care about the mistake and just eat my meal. However, unlike most other places, this franchise charges $0.50 for a dipping cup and you don't get a complimentary one. Other times, I'm missing my apple pie. Luckily, It takes me 2 seconds looking in the bag to notice because they have this annoying protocol of having drive through customers pull forward, away from the window to wait on your food (unlike other places, it's not because 1 item you ordered is being made and allowing other customers to get their food and go around you while you wait). It turns into me rushing to open the bag and find a problem before they disappear into the building. Now come to today. Same old, same old. They managed to remember my dipping cup but forgot my entire apple pie. Waved them down, got it and took off. Fast forward to getting home and I open my burger to find that my double is suddenly a single with jalapenos on it. I have never been to any food place that forgets and messes my order up more frequently than I have here. It's not a food problem, I love the food. It's a problem with the people working in it, which is more than likely because of whatever very specific way the franchise wants their workers to do things. If you go here, make sure you have everything you paid for. You will probably need to be vigilant here more so that any other place you've gone to combined.

Well....I am disappointed. The food is lackluster - no flavor in the chopped chicken or pulled pork, the hush puppies were overcooked, the banana pudding was not good, and the sauces in the bottles at the table added ZERO flavor to the meat. The barbecue beans were dry and flavorless, and the potato wedges were like warm. Everything was so deficient in flavor that I am concerned if anyone understands barbecue. My wife enjoyed the wings, and that is why this rating is 3 stars. I was so disappointed in my meal that I didn't try her wings. The interior was clean and orderly, and the workers were generally friendly. The food came up quickly, but everything was lukewarm. I am hopeful I caught the Rock Store on a bad day.
