I'm new to the area so decided to try this place as they have GF pizza. It is decent but a little pricey for the size. Not complaining too much about that though since I'm aware GF pizza will always cost more. I've just had it from other places at the same price for double the size. This pizza is thicker and doughier than others I've had which is fine, but it could have been left in the oven for a few more minutes. Not a huge deal though; the crust is excellent. I live ten minutes away and it was still hot when I got home. The reason why I didn't give it 5 is because one day when google hours told me they were open I drove 30 mins to go order and try out their food. The other downside is their menu online clearly does not match their prices in store. Note: this is a very specific review, not of the entire menu per se. I'm focused on a couple very specific things here. In my continuing reviews of meatball grinders at "House of Pizzas", I found an "undercover" house of pizza - they don't have it in the name but all the times I drove past it it I thought it was a true OG house of pizza - so it's going to qualify for my meatball grinder review purposes. Decor: technically the name of this place is Burlington's famous pizza and subs, and the decor is exactly what you'd expect in a house of pizza, the old faded posters from Greece on the walls and the classic plastic menu signage above the counter. Checks all the boxes - totally no-frills and exactly what you want in an old style house of pizza. The Meatball Grinder: this was a very, very tasty meatball grinder. Definitely homemade meatballs, and I counted at least five or six large, juicy, fresh tasting meatballs inside a nice crispy French roll. Some of the Greek style house of pizzas the meatballs are more sliced, almost like from a loaf; these were true round meatballs, but the flavor really stacked up with everything you want in a delicious old-fashioned old-school Greek meatball grinder. The sauce was nice there was plenty of it, and the only slight letdown was the fact that the cheese was not enough, I wanted more provolone pull inside the grinder itself. But the fresh taste of the meatballs more than made up for it. I would definitely go back for a grinder from these guys, it was served up fresh and hot. Also should mention, their prices seem a little higher, a small grinder was $10. But that's OK, in my quest for House of Pizza meatball grinders this one did not disappoint. 9 out of 10. By far the best pizza in the neighborhood - the Burlington, Lexington, Bedford, etc. area. Their crust and sauce is excellent, their prices unbeatable and options amazing. Also for pizza there seems to be less salt. I am not going to compare this with Chicago style deep dish - this is no Unos or Giordanos (in Chicago, not the chain locations). But this is way better thank the thin-crust/flat-bread pizza we get in NYC style locations, and in the New England area in general. And as I mentioned clean and amazing to taste. And the prices too! A custom 5 topping large (which would be extra-large in most chain stores) is 17 bucks! We tried a number of pizza restaurants locally when we moved here, and found this place. I just ordered from Famous for a second time, this time I upped the order to serve to guests at my daughter's birthday party and believe it or not I got compliments from adults on how good it was. A couple men noticed that it was "different" than others in the area and when I told them it was owned and operated by a Greek family hey immediately acknowledged this was the difference - it's Greek style. Needless to say, I sent them the Yelp listing and they were delighted to know of this little jewel of a pizza shop right here in town. I would recommend checking out the other menu items too... The pizza is very good, the price is reasonable, and as one of the other reviewers said, they are damn fast. But be prepared when you walk in there to know what you are going to order. Think something along the lines of the Soup Nazi. During lunch rush, if you are holding up the guy taking the orders you may not have a pleasant experience. But in general I am a fan of forcing people to have their stuff ready to go, so it's a positive. Phone orders are a little fun too - the guys I've talked to on the other end of the line don't seem to be very good at speaking or understanding you, so it will be a little adventure. This pizzeria is a family owned pizzeria, of which, you'll see the same faces working there day in and day out. There is a small dining room where you order, but go into the room next door for a larger dining room with more comfortable seats. At lunchtime, this place is always busy. Prices are reasonable...and while their subs aren't the biggest ones in town, they're toasted and good...most of the time. :) Their pizza, while maybe Famous, is pretty typical of New England Pizza. It was ok, would have been better w cheese and how about throw some ketchup in the bag. Pizza is soft crust greek style, its ok if your starving but I wouldn't go there for pizza on pizza night. Pasta had no taste, tasted like water but the high light was the meatballs were excellent, not as good as grandmoms but pretty good.
