Had a refill done. Nails came out cute. Staff were nice. However, a couple days later started to see a green streak under the acrylic nail. Turns out I got a bacterial fungus infection from the nail. I never get my nails done and the one time i do this happens.

Gorgeous gel nails. My favorite look by far! The shop owner Linda did my nails for the first time and they are my favorite so far! She introduced me to a new more modern look and I think I'll stick to this look. I love all the nails artists here. So friendly and they are careful in their work. I don't ever get cuts and I appreciate that. Thank you so much ladies!

Beautiful nails and such kind, patient staff. I wanted very neutral and short acrylic nails for my wedding and they delivered exactly what I wanted! I love my nails.

I came at around 5:45 after calling and they willingly took us in. Linda was very sweet and was willing to stay past closing time to make sure I was satisfied with my nails. There was no burning during drilling and curing. She asked for my approval with every step.

This was my first set here, I really enjoy the people there I always bring my own polish because there polish collection isn't the greatest

Went on a recommendation from a friend she recommended Heidi, but she wasn't available so I went with Linda. Linda is amazing. Very knowledgeable and attention to Detail is great. They always do an amazing job. The are upfront letting me know if there is an up charge on anything different from the packages that are listed you chose from before they start your pedicure. Good conversations . Always great work and I am picky! But bring cash there is a card for card. read more

First time here and my experience was great! My nail tech took her time and made sure I liked my nails every step of the way. The owner Linda was also very nice and welcoming. She was dealing with a very rude customer when I arrived and she handled it with grace and professionalism even though the customer was giving her a very hard time. This place is so cute! I went to Linda she is my favorite! She is the owner and she makes you feel so welcomed! She does an outstanding job doing nails. My favorite are the glitter ombré gel nails that she does. Definitely recommend this place. It's located in the shopping center of the stater brothers next to the barber shop. The one by jack in the box isn't very good. People always mess up the location it is not Tracy nails it's Famous Update: Back again! Linda is the best at what she does. Linda and Tony did an incredible job on my nails today, but really the entire Staff is soo AMAZING!! They treat you like family. I have really enjoyed the way they make me feel, not only with doing my nails (Which alast A LOOONG Time nicely done), but they treat me like family. I've been coming to famous nails for the past 7 years and the ladies never fail. I always request Heidi for my pedicures especially since I'm prone to getting ingrown toenails and she knows exactly how to remove without hurting like most places I used to go to they would just cut and even make me bleed sometimes but not with Heidi. Every now and then I love getting a full set of nails and my go-to girl is Linda the owner she is wonderful with ombre and most difficult designs she's very meticulous when shaping and filing down your nails without hurting and I love the fact that she always remembers you and strikes up conversation so your time goes by really fast. This last time I was there I asked for a cute Barbie inspired design and and Heidi and Linda both made my nails look so cute definitely recommend anybody coming because they take their time and even though a lot of places might charge a little bit cheaper it's not worth it because other places I've tried in the past are too rushed and the nails start to chip after a week and a half with famous nails I usually don't have to come back for one or two months LOL. read more

This nail salon has had my loyalty since february! I have absolutely loved each set i have gotten here. I never have to wait longer than 5-10 minutes on a busy day to be seated and taken care of, they are always so patiently with me while i decide on designs and colors, and have no problem changing anything if i change my mind on a color or design. All their shaping and designs are up to date and i always have such a relaxing experience here. Beautiful acrylics by linda and constantly amazing pedicures. I stand on my feet at least 10 hours a day , so when i tell you i look forward to the pedicures!! With great customer service as well. I've also had my eyebrows waxed here all the time and they always are painless and beautiful. It's such a relief to finally find a nail salon that is up to all the trends, and don't rush their clientele. It's such good quality work that i drive out here all the way from Riverside every two weeks. read more

We have been going to this nail salon for many years. As a diabetic Heidi and Kelli do an awesome job on my sensitive feet. Tony is the best he is funny and does a beautiful job. Linda is the owner and soooooo sweet and does a great job on nails and eyebrows. I love that she is closed on Sunday for her staff enjoy family time. Linda handles walk ins but call and make an appointment is even better. You won't be disappointed read more

I wish I can say I loved everything about my nails, but sadly that isn't the case. I'm very particular about my nails. And I decided to try this place out even with the 3 stars. I figured well i get dip powder...how badly can you really mess that up? Apparently it's possible. I posted a picture. Seeing those dents in my nails have honestly been bugging me for the past week since. Only left ring finger its bumpy as well. Is it really that hard to so dip powder. I've gotten dip powder before but the place I usually go to is in Brea and I disnt have time to head that way since i was set to leave for Vegas for my cousins wedding. I wanted to like this place given that besides the 3stars they have..the reviews received were good but those reviews are only for 1 tech Linda who btw didnt do my nails. I guess shes the only person in her salon that knows what shes doing. read more

Famous nails in Montclair... my new fave new spot. I received a gift certificate from there and was VERY reluctant to go because the last time I went over 15 years ago- it was filthy, the ladies were not very friendly, and the furniture was so outdated! I walked in and it was a completely different atmosphere. I was greeted with smiles, it was clean, and it had been remodeled. Linda and her nail technician were very sweet. This new ownership has made this my new nail spot! So glad I gave this place a 2nd chance! read more

I've been coming to this salon for a few months now they have never charged me extra for any services that I never agreed to. Before they perform anything they always ask! Also the credit card fee is everywhere now in days and Linda always encourages to bring cash for the same reason or drive to the bank. It's always clean and smells fresh. The reason why I like this place is because they don't charge to remove the gel or dip. Ontop of everything else gel and designs are always extra they do a great job with dip and gel. Linda did an amazing job for my sister & I , she was kind ,patient & very professional & friendly. I showed her a picture of the nails i wanted & gave me an even better set of nails & offered my sister & cute clear pink glitter set , she loves them. I will most certainly be returning! I found out someone scammed this place and i am appalled how can u get full service up to $110 and leave not pay and then make a fake ass review saying bullshit, I've been coming here for almost a year and every time i love it. Literally never coming here again !!! She charged me almost 200$ for a basic set!!! Not even long like I like !! I could've went to 3D nails or blue diamond and got the same design for 60$ maybe 80$ at the most. I'm very disappointed. I was being hassled the whole time about how these nails are the longest, gel x isn't good and leaving a review since she was supposedly going to give me a discount. If I could I would leave 0 stars !! Tired of these nail places overcharging for nothing. read more

Ok, I am giving this nail salon two stars because Linda is very personable but the quality is not equal to the price. I paid $65 for a dip powder manicure that I had to go home and even/smooth out the shape myself. I've only recently moved and used to get my nails done in Orange County and never paid that much, yet was more than satisfied with the end result. When I came in I initially asked for a gel manicure, however, Linda was insistent that I get the did powder as it is stronger and lasts longer, which I agreed to. With that being said, she proceeded to do the dip powder but it was very sloppy. I think she needed a new bottle of primer or base in order for the powder to adhere properly because it wasn't smooth at all and there were spots where I could see that the powder hadn't stuck. She could tell that I wasn't pleased with the way it was turning out so she proceeded to put gel over the dip powder, which was fine because it helped to even out the color and texture but if she had listened to me from the beginning it wouldn't have been necessary. I feel like she charged me that price to make up for the extra time and product, which was her fault to begin with. Anyway, I would not recommend or return. read more

Was looking for a new place in the area to get my nails done. I was looking for professional and clean service. Famous nails definitely exceeded my expectations!! Linda is so sweet and thoughtful. She puts a lot of thought into her work and you can tell she is passionate about what she does. Everyone in the salon is very kind and great at what they do. It feels like a very positive environment. My pedicure and acrylic came out so perfect!! Linda really fixed the shape of my nails and my cuticles were nicely cleaned. Linda also provides eyebrow waxing which she is very good at! I got a nice relaxing spa day with everything I needed. 10/10 quality service! read more

She made sure I was getting what I wanted and kept asking me if I liked the shape while she was working on them, since almond nails are a bit tricky to get right. Love love love this place! Linda always goes above and beyond with my nails. I let her freelance my nails and this is the outcome. I always come here and I swear I'm ALWAYS satisfied! Here are the passed two nail sets I've had done from here. Definitely recommend famous nails not only because the great job they do but also the atmosphere. Very friendly and they actually engage with their customers and share laughs and stories not like other nail salons... this salon is not awkward like other places. *** PS make sure you go to the nail place by the barber shop because I got confused on which nail salon to go to. read more

I've been coming too Famous nails since I moved to Montclair about 4 years ago. Great owners always make you feel welcome. So I was a little hesitant when I saw a sign of new management. New owner is Linda, very friendly, great recommendations. Helen, who is still there, has always done my nails, pedicure, waxing and eyelash extensions. They made beautiful changes to the spa with new stations, pedicure massage chairs, a lot more color and gel choices. I have always been happy at Famous nails but this is definitely an upgrade. Highly recommend for all your needs. Booking full body massage soon! They also do coffin nails and ombré color. Which is what I choose May 11th 2018. Today I had my old set removed, new set done and pedicure. All the staff does an amazing job, I personally use Helen for everything. Very friendly and great suggestions. I love this place. Linda is my go to girl and she is da bomb!!! She is the owner and always makes you feel comfortable. She takes her time and is very precise about her work. You can tell by her work that she loves what she does. She won't let you leave without making absolutely sure you're in LOVE with your nails lol. The other staff is also very friendly and welcoming as well. Overall I would definitely recommend this place for all services. It's clean and in a nice shopping area. This full set was not worth the money I paid($75)! Within the week all my acrylic nails fell off. Maybe for others it won't be as bad as my experience. read more

I ended up waiting about an hour while staff kept going back and forth, clearly frustrated about who was going to deal with my nail. It was very uncomfortable and unprofessional. Eventually, a different technician took over, and the service was rough and painful. She was pulling my hand, filing aggressively on the sides, and it actually hurt. The nail was done carelessly and didn't even match the rest of my set. On top of that, the attitude was obvious. Between the tone, looks, and the way they were going back and forth in their language, it was clear I was being treated like an inconvenience instead of a paying customer. Don't assume customers don't notice just because you're speaking another language. After years of loyalty, this was extremely disappointing. I felt disrespected and unwelcome. They lost a long-time customer.

I had a gel Mani and Pedi on July 5 late afternoon, I have not washed dishes without gloves or done any housework since then (had a housekeeper) and my nails are chipped! I came by after work today and all they're doing is arguing with me. They said it's been two weeks. It has not been two weeks. They don't know how to count. They don't make any sense they don't understand anything you're saying and they want to throw it back on you that I should come back in 2-3 days this is just a bunch of bullshit !! My friend got acrylics with cat-eye polish and they look FANTASTIC. I will note that the color books are labeled with the same numbers for different colors in different books, so be sure to show your nail tech the exact book/color to prevent mix ups! Since Mirai does not offer acrylic nails, I agreed to try their Gel-X service. My natural nails were cut down in preparation for the application. What should have been a routine appointment turned into a nearly four-hour ordeal. The Gel-X application alone took approximately three hours, followed by another hour for a basic pedicure. For the amount of time spent and the price charged ($130 before tip), I expected a much better result. The nails are uneven, overly thick, and have an unnatural appearance. Several nails curve dramatically downward, creating a claw-like look rather than the clean, natural shape Gel-X is known for. Looking underneath the nails, there are noticeable gaps and inconsistencies in the application. I left feeling disappointed instead of happy with the finished product. The most frustrating part is that I paid a premium price and invested half my day, only to come home considering removing the nails myself. I rarely leave negative reviews, but when a service costs this much and takes this long, the quality should reflect it. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the Gel-X service at Mirai. I genuinely wish them well, but I will not be returning.

Just let all my customers know I usually don't write the response back to my customers on here, because I don't pay for yelp and I don't need to waste my time to go up here to argue with someone not normal and not a nice person at all. I had people not happy and yeld me bad too but not like a person down below. Read her the reviews that she wrote about me and talk bad about me because she lie a lot on there. When she finished and pay the fee to credit card I told her go get cash at stater for free but she got mad at me and 30 mins after she came back when I was working on my client she told me very rude in front of my customers fixed her nails right the way. Just want to let you know my nails wasn't like that. I been do nails for long time the ombré nails look very nice but 30mins after look different. I was upset with the way she acted very rude then she told me she working in banking bussiness. I moved to Montclair about a year ago and tried 2 or 3 nails shops that claimed to know how to do ombre nails...and didnt. I walked into Famous Nails about 4 months ago to get my eyebrows done, and Linda greeted me and instantly made me feel welcome and not like a "new customer". When she told me she knew how to do ombre nails, I told her I would be back (I still had the failed attempt of nails from one of the other shops). Sure enough, Linda went above and beyond to make sure I didnt just like my nails, but that I LOVED them. I've gone back for fills and fresh sets ever since. And just to clarify, I dont get new sets bcuz of poor quality...I just like to get new sets after one fill. Tonight I went back for removal and new set. Linda suggested I try her cappuccino gel/powder and she added a couple of gems (pictured) and I'm in love with the end result. She knows I prefer a thin and sleek look to my nails, and she nails it every time (no pun intended). And to top it off, with it being Valentine's Day and I mentioned my husband was stuck up north bcuz od the weather so it was a Mommy and Son date night...Linda and Kelly spoiled my son with a pedicure and massage, and as the picture shows...he enjoyed the attention and service he received too read more

I had gone to idol nails and spa about 2 weeks ago and needed a fill but I decided to try famous nails since it was closer to home. I am so thankful that I came to get my fill here because Linda was so honest about the job idol nails had done. She really opened my eyes on what the coffin nail shape should be. I'm also so thankful that she fixed them up for me. She didn't have to take her time to do that but she did. Linda also suggested some colors and encouraged me to be extra on my nail color. I will definitely be going there to get my mani and pedi. I am also so mad at myself because I didn't give her a tip, I totally forgot to tell her to put it into the payment since I paid with my card and I didn't have cash. The new management is amazing and make you feel welcome . linda is the one who did my nails and she did amazing .
