I went to this place on a Sunday morning without an app and I was very grateful that they took me in for a pedicure but boy do I regret it now. I'm not in a habit of writing bad reviews but this time I'm mad that on how the service was conducted. The lady was an older lady who at most didn't know how do cut nails. Instead of just cutting straight to prevent ingrown nail growth she ripped it. As many times I've gotten a pedicure this was the first time that it has happen. Once she was done she pored alcohol on it and it stung so bad that I wanted to yelled. She never reacted to my pain and just went on. Then to top it off as she finished polishing my nails instead of using a brush to clean up the polish that got on my skin she dipped her finger on the acetone and rub it off which just smudge the polish. I had the worst experience at Exotic Nails in Montclair, and I honestly regret stepping foot in the place. I went in as a walk-in, asking for a simple gel manicure--something that should've been a quick and easy 40-minute session since I had nothing on my nails. I know I should have made an appointment at my regular spot, but time got the best of me and I thought it would be nice to try somewhere new. Unfortunately, it turned into a nightmare from the start. I specifically told the technician that my nails were a bit weak from a previous set and asked her to be gentle. Instead of taking care, she caused a huge cut on my middle finger. I was bleeding for a while, and it was painful, which, of course, no one wants when getting a manicure. Once the bleeding stopped, I thought maybe things would improve, but nope. When it came time to paint my nails, the color just wouldn't go on evenly. It looked like it needed a base or was just poor-quality polish, and the technician had zero control, painting outside of my nails, making it look sloppy and unprofessional. I know I have small nails, but I've never had this problem before at other salons. At that point, I just couldn't take it anymore and walked out in the middle of the appointment. I've had many gel manicures, and this was hands down the worst. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. read more

Wouldn't recommend went to get a mani and pedi and the next day I noticed that the did a super messy job on my toes and did gel on my hand which is supposed to last u about 2-3 weeks we'll it looked like I had my nails on for weeks they started getting ugly with in 2-3 days so I went back so they can repolish and still came out even worse and i also wanted to get my eyelashes done for 65 while doing my eyelashes she was screaming from the back room to a customer to do a combo mani pedi Nd he decided not to do them there I guess to expensive and when he left she started yelling again to her workers saying she needed the money and THIS IS ALL WHILE DOING MY EYELASHES SO SHE WAS SUPER CLOSE TO MY EAR !!! So I asked her if I'm getting the regular set which I wanted from the beginning and made it known she took it upon herself to to do the most expensive set (90$)of lashes and took around 3 hours for her to finish .i got super impatient and fusterated because 1 all the yelling 2nd I had been waiting since 12 for this lady Nd she didn't show up still around 1240 . And yesterday I finally went to a different nail salon so they can fix it !! Nd the bad thin is they just opened up and this is how it's going smh ‍ NEVER AGAIN . read more
