I recently met a friend here for dinner. It was a week night, at dinner time and the place wasn't too busy. The Hostess seated me right away while I waited for my friend to arrive. The vibe was tranquil and casual. Autumn, our server, came over within minutes to take my drink order. Soon my friend arrived and we were ready to order. I ordered tea and the baby back ribs with no sauce which came with 2 sides and corn muffin. I only wanted the ribs so the sides and muffin were packed to go...and went home with my friend. The food came out quickly - I would say that we had food on the table about 30 minutes after I first sat down. The ribs were okay - they were a little bit dryer in some areas than expected but not inedible. Adding a little bit of BBQ sauce made the dry bits less noticeable. Throughout the dining experience, Autumn returned several times to make sure that things were ok and to see if we needed any drink refills. She was a good server to have, I recommend asking to be seated in her section if possible. Otherwise, it was a decent experience and I would consider dining again. read more

It is so sad to see what has happened. First off, all the staff was great, but the food is not. The St. Louis Ribs have so little tough meat on them that we sent two back and the replacements were no better. The brisket was the biggest disappointment, as it was not recognizable as brisket and looked like slices of dark spam with less flavor. The Wilber Beans were blander without any meat. The Bread Pudding is hanging in there, but can't carry the weight for the rest of the food. read more

My shop is located in Flint, Michigan so I'm always out here for lunch and I love the options. Famous Dave is one of the favorite ones. The food is always great. The service is always very kind. Usually I take takeout. They never mess up my order three bone ribs or hand breaded tossed chicken tenders are very good potato wedges are always very crispy and the cornbread oh my God, the cornbread reminds me of the south and try the come and sauce that stuff will make you for sure. Want to come back. read more

The beer is still ice cold. They got rid of the all you can eat rib tips on Thursday so that's a bummer. We usually always sit in the bar for the quiet area. Also there's bar specials that we like to get for happy hour. The drinks are strong. The food is warm. read more

This used to be the best Famous Dave's in the area including Metro Detroit. Now it's just like the rest. They got rid of there daily specials just like the rest. The food quality also was not good. Burnt ends came out cold and next order was tasteless. Rib tips were hard. This used to be a 5 star place. Go back to what you were doing. Service is still good but that's not enough. read more

The food was really good. I had an ultimate Burger which was a burger with pulled pork cheese lettuce and onions. It was big enough that I took half of it home for another meal. Our waitress was really nice and friendly. I recommend famous Dave's if you're ever around Flint. read more

Food was sub par! The brisket tasted like chicken and the double burnt ends tasted like St. Louis ribs . They made mistake with the main course. Besides that the rib tips were dry! The chicken dry! The st Louis ribs good the Mac ok! The garlic mash no good the loaded bake potato just ok but huge. Service said 15-20 got the wrong order in 20 minutes. Waiting area no room huge table with nothing on it takes up most of room. read more

Pretty ok for dine in, takeout out or a catered party. I've had Famous Dave's a couple of times now. It's ok for a franchise rib joint. It's neither sublime nor crap. It's good, not super authentic or knock your socks off great, nor is it mediocre. The coleslaw is really good, very rich and just right edge and tang to it. It's zesty and I like my coleslaw zesty. Mac and cheese is good, but definitely a little different. They add corn to their own recipe. I don't get it, but it's ok. It makes for extra crunch, I suppose. To each his own, I say. The bbq ribs, the mainstay of any rib restaurant, are okay. The sauce is good, the profile of flavors seems right and the portions are good. My ribs have always been cooked properly, no complaints on this. Are they award winning and a masterpiece? Nah, but they're good enough, relatively tasty and filling and the sauce is good, if not particularly wowed by their taste. They need a few more options if you're dining with vegetarian minded family, but it's a decent place e for ribs as long as you don't mind knowing what you're getting. Service and location are average, food is decent, price is ok... read more

I'll go in the middle of the road for overall service and food. I sat at the bar and the bartender couldn't be more accommodating. But where I knock the couple stars off is the food. Maybe my expectations were too high since the last time I ate at a Famous Dave's was over 10 years ago in South Dakota. We use to eat at another Famous Dave's out west twice a week cause of how good it was. I couldn't get enough of the brisket when we went. Here the food was ok but nothing to bring me back unless I was in the immediate area and other places were busy. read more

Enjoyed the food so decided to get catering. Catering was mediocre and wait in the preorder was over an hr past the set pickup time. Half the food was cold and the main meat we ordered was not as it was listed online. Will go back for eat-in, food is amazing, but catering is off our table. read more

I had wanted to try them out for quite a while so today we drove by the Flint, Michigan location we stopped to check it out. 3 of us ordered the baby back rib, the st. Louis style ribs, beef brisket, bbq chicken, french fries and side salads. Our waitress was very nice and helpful, very attentive. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. We ordered and the salads came out fast. Side salad with italian and a caesers. Both were good. Then the rest of the food came. The bbq chicken was very nice, cooked well and not burned like a lot of bbq chicken tends to be. The brisket was dissapointing. Small portion, fatty and not much seasoning. The corn muffins are awesome. The baby back ribs were very fatty and could have used a little more cooking. The st louis style ribs were excellent. The portions for the prices charged seemed quite small and they were super stingy on the french fries. They bring your food out on a metal tray and for a $20-30 meal, the tray was half empty. Wtf? Throw some french fries on it! Not sure i will be back but if i am will NOT order the brisket! read more

BBQ was definitely on my mind before visiting Flint. After exploring the murals decided to check this place out and it was for sure a great choice. Ordered 2 meat Combo(Chopped Pork & Turkey smothered in gravy) that came with Corn bread and Side Mac & cheese( $10). My friend got chicken and Rib tip meat along with Bbq beans. Corporate has taken this place down another notch. Fewer selections for side dishes. No collard greens in a bbq joint, who thought that was a good idea. Coleslaw recipe has changed as well and not for the better. The ribs were tasty but I have never seen "baby back" ribs with bones that big. We were there on a Sunday and the place was nearly empty. That is a big indicator to me that other customers feel the same. On a brighter note, the staff was friendly and the service was excellent. read more

Always love eating here ribs always hit the spot never a bad order until the other night they sold me some old yesterday left over ribs and after spending $50 bucks I was really confused . Great food! The beef brisket was very tender. My server did an above average job. I wish they had the Tuesday feast special still.

During week 5 of stay-at-home self-quarantine (thanks, COVID), my family and I had this sudden and unexplainable appetite for BBQ. We drooled over the take-out menu and decided on 2 orders of the 2 Meat Combo and an extra half-slab of ribs. The beautiful thing of the Meat Combos is that you get to choose from a decent variety of meats to fit your desires, so we picked the Southside Rib Tips, Brisket, the Georgia Chopped Pork, and some more Ribs with sides of Famous Fries, Creamy Coleslaw and Wilbur Beans. The meals were delivered by a courteous Doordash driver within 10 minutes of the promised delivery time, so kudos for that! The Tips were juicy and tangy, the Pork was gone so fast I didn't even get to try it (must have been great!), the Ribs done just right. The Brisket was done well, tender and lean, whereas I have to admit I prefer mine "wet" with a little more fat. Out of the sides, the Beans were my personal favorite. I can definitely recommend this location for take-out! Come get your fix! read more

You hate writing a negative review because it effects the people that have no way of changing things, we stopped in for a quick dinner on a Sunday afternoon, pretty busy but got right in, I ordered sampler platter thinking it would be a good way to sample what they serve, There was not one thing I would order again, mostly deep fried, over cooked, all tasted the same, wife order a Ceasar salad, far from the best she ever had. 4 Days later we went to an event where the food was all catered in from Famous Daves, absolutely wonderful, everything was perfect, Not sure if they have separate menu's or what, but I highly recommend the catering program. read more

Came here last night while in town on business. We were greeted and seated right away! Our food came out delicious and fast, and correct lol. The server was fantastic and did a great job on drink refills. I have ordered takeout from Famous Dave's before but this was my first experience dining in. We had a really nice dinner and it was fun getting to try all the BBQ sauce flavors. The whole place smells amazing and the banana pudding is exceptionally good. I think it's a locally owned restaurant and they are doing a great job. We would be glad to come back! read more

Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que - 2 Meat Combo - Lunch - Barbeque Near Me - Flint, Michigan

Spent $50 on a delivery. Worst BBQ I've ever had. Tried them 3 times for fairness and still just the worst. Beans are undercooked. The ribs were, once again, overcooked and dry as a paper towel. The only item that was even close to being edible was the sweet corn. And even that was mushy and overcooked. That was my last try at Dave's. read more

We were in the mood for some BBQ and we were in the Flint area, so we stopped at Famous Dave's. I don't remember their prices being so high before... Maybe they were and I just didn't notice. Anyway, the food was okay. It came out fast and was barely warm. The chicken seemed undercooked and didn't have much flavor. I did like the pulled pork though. The bread that was under the pulled pork was tough - didn't even touch it. The corn bread had good flavor. Our waitress was good and checked on us a couple of times during our meal. There were several other members of the waitstaff that seemed to like hanging out by the hostess stand. That was irritating as they were being loud. Seems like the 4 people that were standing around in the entrance could have been doing something else. Maybe that's how they do it at Famous Dave's though. read more

I ordered the catfish dinner for $18 with two cokes. Asked for lotta catch-up they brought out three small packages for a whole catfish dinner I asked for more they said no. I said give me my money back they took back a $20 meal with the cokes and everything lost it and threw it away because they didn't want to give me some more packs catch up. But if I go inside I can squirt as much catch-up as I wanna have a bottle and it's OK this place is a freaking joke what a way to lose money great job. read more

So far we were greeted by a hostess with a shitty attitude which almost turned us away. We are waiting to be seated and I will finish this after we are done dining. So bad what a terrible experience. I'm not going to bore you all with the details, but they stole my money and I didn't get food. Now no apologies no remorse and a ruined Mother's Day for mom. Absolutely horrendous experience today. Ordered food day prior. Credit card shows pending charge about 45 minutes before scheduled pick up time. I arrive to a line of cars out of the parking lot, onto Miller Rd for some distance, with another 50 people waiting outside. Never spoke to 1 employee for over 30 minutes. During that 30 minutes, I saw 3 orders come out.....3. They had no plan for this and no way to organize it. I can be patient if I at least understand there is some plan or strategy. After the police arrived, an employee finally came out to tell us they were over 2 hours behind and offered to cancel orders. They should have only taken orders that they can handle. I had ordered 18 hours prior. I understand a delay if I was a walk-up customer. Completely rude and caused a major disruption on Mothers Day. Not sure I will go back. read more

I visited about two weeks ago for lunch. I had so much food, I took a carry out and had the rest for dinner. The greeter was super kind and my food was on the table in a flash. I'm not sure what was going on with the waitress. She came to my table, never introduce herself. I actually asked her name when she brought my check. When people act like that, I feel safer not asking for much. It's like I just want to toss my food down and keep it moving. read more

I just wanted to say this is the best experience I've had in a very long time. The service was amazing, and our waitress was very attentive and friendly.
