The food here is fantastic, drink options are great; hospitality and ambiance is even better. Out of state folks visiting and glad we chose to come here to eat. 10/10 would recommend to anyone living or passing through flint. Also was playing the Giants Dodgers game which was just the cherry on top of it all.

We had the posted special. The tacos were good. The tortilla bowl for the chicken taco salad was "dripping" greasy, but the salad was good. Service was adequate.

Stopped in recently with my wife and we had a Chopped Salad and Loaded Nachos. Blurry picture of the salad so I didn't use it. My wife enjoyed the salad and the nachos were good. Great service. I understand there is new ownership. Seem to be maintaining the status quo.

Dive on in. This was great

Flint has a lot of bars- and this is one of them…read more For certain, it was a heck of a lot better back in the day when it was the Backroom. I went here all of the time as a college student when it was known as the Backroom and later I dropped in once in awhile when it was called Kelly's, until it was sold and became the Loft. Yep, it's a dive bar, always has been and always will be, but the really good old days of the dive bar experience here are sadly gone. As dive bars go, I've seen better and I've seen worse. In fact, if look up the phrase "dive bar," you will probably come across a picture of the Loft. You can't order food here, the "dance floor" is tiny, the music is sometimes good, sometimes not. Don't let me get started on the parking situation- it's terrible and you might as well make a mad dash to wherever you managed to park your car when you leave! It's actually laughable. Some of the cocktails are a bit overpriced for what you are getting (sometimes weak or improperly made), but service largely depends on if you are regular or friend of a friend. Random strangers probably tend to get the short end of the stick. I admit, I've gotten free drinks here before, but that's because the staff knows me. Rodney, the owner, is a great guy, but sometimes the bar runs out of essentials, like premium spirits and mixers. I wish the bar staff would just get it together and make certain that the bar is properly stocked to avoid having to order something alternative because they're out of the appropriate ingredients. Beer selection is just average, but they do carry Stella Artois, one of my favorites, so the Loft has that going for itself. While I don't particularly care for most of their cocktails (either too sweet or extremely tart- so much for a happy medium), the bartenders do make a good mojito and a decent old fashioned, though. My preferred cocktail is a whisky sour, which is pretty easy to make and the last few I ordered kinda sucked. They just didn't taste right, too tart. More often than not, I haven't cared for the vibe, the atmosphere, etc. There are just way too many barfly types hanging around drinking draft beer all night. Plus, I often run into an ex or two here and that's just bad mojo all around...

We just bought round after round after round. They made our car bombs out of Bushmill's whiskey which was a huge plus! I love dive bars and I wouldn't call this one a dive exactly, but the atmosphere is definitely NOT one where you want to drink expensive specialty martinis and eat tapas while toting your designer bag around. It's more like the place that gets really cozy when you go there regularly. Torn jeans, comfy white T-shirt, your busted Cons. I definitely would go do some major chugging with my Flint town crew if I was back around there.

I cannot recommend Redline Brewery enough. This is a cute…read morelittle brewery located in Burton. They have 20 beers on tap, all made in house and so unique! There's something for every beer drinker! The owner also distills all his own spirits and makes all of the syrups that go in his drinks! It's truly impressive! When we first stopped in, we got talking to the owner who let us sample many different beers before we finally settled on a few drinks. I had their Taco Crusher that has the best Jalapeno flavor. My friends got a spirit flight and the Diablo Margarita. We kept going with a Strawberry Lavender Lemonade and Old Fashioned. Nothing disappointed! I asked that the strawberry lavender lemonade be made with vodka instead of gin, as I don't care for gin, but the owner convinced me to order the drink as it came and he did not let me down! Every drink we had was sooo good! The owner is truly passionate about what he does and is so knowledgeable and happy to explain all the processes. They often have food trucks parked out front that you can try while you drink one of Redlines incredible drinks. I really cannot say enough good things about this place! Try them out!

The beer was delicious and the service was WAY better than others; even the customers were friendly and welcoming by offering their recommendations and conversation. I will say that if you're looking for the boujee, typical wood pallet decor atmosphere, you're not going to find it here. Red Line has more of a garage feel to it. I will definitely be back in the future when I'm in the area.

Great wine selection…read more Prices are sometimes high for what you are getting, but they carry some unique labels that aren't readily available elsewhere. They have wines that sell at various price points, from their own in-house label that usually sells for about $8 a bottle to the $150 bottles of French reds. Overall, it's a cool, niche wine shop that sells a lot more than just wine. They have a huge variety of craft beers (Dirty Bastard, Bell's, Dirty Blonde, etc) as well, plus wine accessories (bottle stoppers and openers, wine racks, stemware) and even some dairy items in the refrigerated case. My husband's favorite New York Seltzer water is sold here, so I stop in sometimes just to pick it up for him (it comes in a couple flavors, including peach, which is his favorite, at about $1.50 a bottle). Check out some of the more obscure labels and the end caps for good deals on wine. I bought my limited edition "Madonna" wines from the Ciccone winery here, which is difficult to find in these parts. The staff is usually courteous and helpful, but two guys that work here are more knowledgeable than the lady who is here all the time (I think she's the owner). Ask them for a wine-food pairing suggestion and they'll talk your arm off. Whenever I buy wine or beer, they always put a cardboard slider between the bottles so that they don't clank in the bag. One caveat- they're still requiring a minimum purchase of at least $5 or more on all credit card transactions. They should discontinue that policy on the spot. It's dated.

This has been a very nice wine and beer shop in the past, but lately, the novelty of shopping here…read morehas worn off for me. As much as I've patronized this place, you would think the customer service would be better. It used to be (before they moved to the current farmers market location), but now, I hate to say this, but it's true- it sucks. The service is chilly and inattentive, even sometimes rude and unapproachable. I shop here often, have spent a chunk of change in here over the years, but the owners/clerks have just starting giving off a vibe of which that says they don't want to wait on you or be bothered with customers. This is largely a gourmet wine shop, and you would assume you would be getting a certain level of customer service, beyond the selection of gourmet wines and beer labels, etc. Well, lately that has gone out of the window and they act as if they are too busy to acknowledge anyone who stops in. They barely look up, don't acknowledge you and act as if you are bothering them if you ask for a price on something that is unmarked (there is occasionally inventory that is unmarked, especially stock where a certain bottle is the last of its label, etc). This happened just the other day. The woman behind the counter couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge my presence when I asked her about the price of an unmarked bottle. She rolled her eyes, whether intentionally or not. That's not okay. Yes, it's a nice shop, but their price gauging is getting out of hand. The markup is so extreme, it's not like they are the only game in town, which is the attitude they are projecting, at least that's how I have come to see it. With so many other options for quality wine and beer selections, why bother dealing with such abhorrent service and high prices when I can do better at another store? I like shopping locally, but this is not going to continue with such bad service. Another thing I have taken an issue with is their over-reliance on can craft beers. Everything is in a can. Really? You can't order bottles, anymore? I know a lot of nice craft beers come in cans, but it's not that many. This is silly. I don't care for beer in cans, I never have, and my wife abhors it. Plus, the selection of good, craft hard ciders, which I'm into these days, is quite lacking here.
