It's been a while since we've been to a Famous Dave's so we were excited when we saw one close to our hotel. We were pretty disappointed. The service was good, no issues there. The food was minimal. Portions were so small for the price. And they were mediocre at best. It was pretty slow inside and the tables weren't very clean. The rum punch tasted like it had no alcohol at all, just sugar. It's attached to a great steak house so I'm guessing they don't get every busy on their side. Overall, probably won't go back. read more

I came in with my family and got seated right away by a girl with really nice eyeliner, didn't catch her name but she was very nice and gave us a table right away. Our server was a cute girl named Astrid who was very sweet and very quick with our drinks and even our alcohol drinks. The food was amazing and I could tell it was very fresh. This was one of the worst service experiences I've ever had at Famous Dave's. The staff was rude and unorganized from the start. We clearly had a child with us yet had to ask for a kids' menu. We waited 10 minutes for straws and had to remind the waitress twice. After ordering, we were told they were out of beef ribs; something that should have been communicated before ordering. I then had to remind the waitress about my sides as well. Our salads and entrées arrived together, so by the time we finished our salads, our food was cold. We repeatedly had to prompt the waitress for basic things like boxes and the bill. To make matters worse, 20% was added with no option to adjust it, which did not reflect the poor service provided. Very disappointing and frustrating experience. It was clear there was little training or professionalism, as staff prioritized socializing over customer service. read more

A waste of $85, and a date night gone wrong. The only redeeming quality of this restaurant was the single waitress who tended to us. The margarita: was purely syrup and sour mixer to the point I puckered as if I was eating sour candy. The wings: came out, and tasted ok, but were gummy almost as if they were microwaved. The 3 meat platter: I ordered the brisket, which I've never seen so overcooked. I literally had to fight with the meat to separate from the fingers, it was dry and lacked any flavor aside from smokiness. The ribs tasted burnt. And by far the worst - the burnt ends. They take the name of item extremely literal and BURN them. The cornbread tastes store bought. My fiancè ordered a CEASAR salad, and somehow received vinaigrette on it along with burnt chicken. On the way out the little goth girl with all the piercings was too busy texting on her phone to even acknowledge us. So we waited 30 minutes for a table at west texas chop house on the Eastside and when we finally got seated, we couldn't get any service. So we went Nextdoor to Famous Daves and got our seats immediately. They took our order right away. We got our drinks right away. It wasn't loud or overly crowded at Daves and the food came out within 10 minutes. Delicious!!!!! So glad we left the other place! read more

Five stars isn't enough for the experience our family had during dinner at Famous Dave's! We came in with a child on the spectrum who had just sat through a graduation ceremony and was already struggling with overstimulation, and instead of asking us to take out or maybe not eat at all, they set up a quiet table for him so we could enjoy our meal together and he could be himself! I could cry with how good they treated us the entire time! The food was amazing, and the atmosphere I couldn't give enough praise for! My boyfriend ordered the 2 meat combo with Georgia chopped pork and bbq roasted chicken. For his sides had famous fries and Mac & cheese. I had ordered the Devil's spit burger with a side of pineapple steaks. The burger was cooked to perfection the devil's spit barbecue sauce gave it a good kick along with the pepper jack cheese. The pineapple sticks were grilled and had some caramelization they were juicy, ripe, and sweet. I just wish I had more pineapple steaks than just two slices. First, I ordered dish salmon for 14.95$ the plate they brought; the salmon was 1oz. and not only was small- but tasted horrible and did not taste like any salmon I ever tasted!! The menu was overpriced! and the quality of the food was a complete joke, and the cooks may have amateurs!! Where did they find these cooks? A cool spot to hang out. Great beer selection. And very attentive & friendly staff. But I wasn't really that impressed with the barbecue. To me it tasted oven-cooked which to some people that's not really a big deal but for me it is. I figured I would try the burnt ends appetizer and go from there. But would came out were really small cubed chunks of what looks like brisket but were smothered in tangy BBQ sauce which completely masked the flavor of the meat. If they were actual burnt ends the customer would never know because the cubes were cut so small and smothered... They have a lot of things on the menu that aren't BBQ related that are great like the fried catfish, which was great. But the word barbecue is in the name of the restaurant, and for that I can only give it 3 stars. read more

After a long trip into town, we stopped in here for a quick bite to eat. We were greeted and sat right away. Our waitress stopped by right away and took our drink order. After coming back with drinks, we ordered. We were not super hungry so just ordered a touch of food. Once the food came out, we had to ask twice for silverware because we never got any. My wife had to ask for her side of cheese twice as well. While waiting for silverware, our waitress walked back by to close out a table with several checks. Still didn't drop the silverware. So we got to sit and look at our food. To top it off, the food was lukewarm at best. The only thing that was hot was the kids fries. Nothing else. The bowl of chili was cold enough to never melt the cheese in it. The kids Mac and cheese was just a congealed mess of cold Mac. Food was nothing special. Never really is for a chain restaurant but I do not think that it is too much to ask for warm food. I enjoy eating my food as it is intended.....unless this is the food that the business is going for. Regardless, the combination of the food and service, we won't be stopping back here. I get not dropping silverware until the food comes, but sitting there looking at my food as you have walked by my table twice cashing out checks where you could have just dropped a handful of utensils off and bounced would have been nice. Cared more about the bigger party over my small check. Thanks! 10 out of 10 would not recommend. If you can, go next door to the West Texas Chop House. We should have stayed there because a long wait on a Monday says a lot more over a quick meal. read more
